    My all time favorite r/c airplane to fly. I still have my blueprints from Clancy aviation. I had the floats and used them on snow. If I ever get back into the hobby it will be my first build

    Just finished building my own Mini Lazy Bee using your suggested plan. I had to recalculate the measurements from imperial to metric. Other than that I was using Depron instead of Foamboard. 6mm for top of Fuselage and spars. The rest is made of 3mm Depron. Depron is basically a type of foamboard without paper layers. Data: Weight ready to fly approx 100 grams. Motor 1811 -2000 10 grams, Lipo 2S 350 mAh, 25 grams. 2 Servos 3.6 grams each. Maiden flight planned for next Sunday Indoors. Tim, you have ignited the idea building my own Mini Lazy Bee, 😀Thank you for that.😀

      Ed: Thanks for tuning in, and glad we had a chance to head to the RC field with the Kids! You can certainly try a smaller prop, as well as much larger, lightweight wheels. I kinda found out about the prop arc after everything was together. Tim

    Thankyou for sharing your knowledge., Just wanted to know what glue you are using.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the foamboard general glueing . . . I use a hot glue gun ($10 from Amazon, they work great). For plywood firewalls, stronger joints, etc. I use 5 minute epoxy.

    Very nice build , What is the wing span and chord so to make sure the scaling comes out when i make one ? I had at one time a foam Cox Gooney bird that was a Lazy bee Never understood why they could not call it a Lazy bee lol any way it flew like it was on rails One of the best foamies i ever had i did convert it to brushless instead of the old 049.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Larz: Just download the plans from the description, I wrote all of the full Mini Bee measurements on the plan. Wingspan is 18”, chord is 6”. Tim

    Hi Tim, what paint do you use for your foam baord? I tried water based paint, and it loosened the paper from the foam. Thanks. Lee

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lee: I used some poster board acrylic paint that was in my shop. Paint was quite thick and I did not dilute with water. Paint dried quickly, did not seem to affect the paper on the foam. Tim

    Where do i add the cut on the wing for the airfoil (from leading edge to trailing edge) and how tall or thick is the foil? Im sorry it's my first time building one.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I make the "airfoil" cut around 25% back from the wing leading edge. Just bend it a bit, nothing scientific. Tim

    Should I make a small hole on the side of the fuselage and put the servo through that instead of making a hole for the pushrod I think it's easier but I would like your opinion.

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      OK to make a small hole, put servo thru. Tim

    Where do I put my fingers to test cg because it a ridged wing and what's the formula??

    • @TimMcKay56
      @TimMcKay56  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For a straight wing like this, CG is 25% of the chord, measured back from the leading edge. Just put your fingers at this point, see that the model balances. Close enough for these sport fliers.

    • @TimMcKay56

      Glue on velcro to the battery and the fuselage, to keep battery in place. Tim
