If you said 1 year ago that brian would pick ed in sf6 no one would believe that, a testament of how well the sf6 designers did with him
Just wait until they add balrog with his level 2 being tengu stones, it's over for the CPT streets
So just because brian picks a character it means that character was well made? That makes no sense, ed is well made ill give you that, but brian probably picked him because he likes the boxer type and his design gameplay wise in this game, one thing has nothing to do with the other
@@butteredtoast3032 I think it's more so that - if I'm not misremembering, Ed was one of Brian's most disliked characters in SFV and what they did with him in SF6 was an incredible glow-up.
@@butteredtoast3032 i think you misses a bit of context, but ed in sf5 was one of the worst caracters for brian, he didnt like him at all, one year ago he still had that opinion and didnt believe in ed, so i meamt that because they made a caracter that he didnt like likable, is how much they improved
@@butteredtoast3032it’s more because brian hated everything about ed in sf5
This tourney was too early for Brine. He still had sleep in his eyes. Lol
That CA buffer interaction vs ice was sick, call bluff, not a bluff, happens
The layers of possibilities
Hi Brian! I just found your stream and YT channel about a week ago and have been following your advice and trying to adopt a more chill demeanor. I went from hardstuck in Iron at 1000lp to mid-bronze. thanks buddy you really help a lot :)
Just take-Just take-Just take-Just take the throw
Always good to see your vids and keep up with what’s happening comp wise
Shoutouts to your first round opponent, hes one of my local homies, oklahoma gang👏
Been subbed since early sfV times and i stopped playing fighters myself, i check in periodically on the channel and the improvement and consistent growth you show is insane GGS Brineeeee
the cammy throwloops was pissin ed off
It’s in most cammys nature lol
cammy players trying not to throw after spiral arrow (impossible)
Did it ever leave though? That's the real question.
Jesus christ the first match against ice had me on the edge of my seat
Brian could you please use some of your influence to maybe get CPT tournament for North Africa region please ? We have really strong players i promise we just need a chance
Lucky charms????!!!! Naw man that was a wheaties play 😂 well spoken I love it
I'm sorry, man. I was really rooting for you
You make Ed look lowkey cheap with them midscreen whiff punishes. Is he? I want to play a cheap character
He's got some cheap stuff like long range up ins and snatcher pressure but he's defensive options are quite weak. An optimised ed level 2 combo can take you corner to corner but that requires practice amd dexterity. So yes he can be very cheap if you want to and if you are good enough
Only just catching this now, that set against ice had me stressing 😂😂 let's go brineee, next one you got
Man, I was hoping DSP would be in this. Then I remembered... he's DSP.
It'd be hilarious but I don't think him or LTG are deluded enough to think they stand any chance in today's tournament scene.
Dude, what's the name of that song in the fight against Cammy, the song list in this video is insane, what a delight to watch
Daaaaamn... That bait at 12:59.... the moment when Ed wins the fireball with a lvl 3 is just amazing.
What's the name of the song that plays vs Chuck Steak?
I think a good game to see a video on would be gang beasts, the game doesn't get a ton of spotlight but the skill ceiling is pretty insane, I think the best player that makes yt content is rslade
Always stressful when the music cuts out.
Brian Genius Academy! Please! I need the tracklist!
You know, fresh after a late night granny gooning session, I often wonder what that Brian F and Broski SFV Oro set looked like. What type of crazy stuff must they have done to not want to even release the footage lol
Oh didn’t know you liked Elden Ring too, if you stream it or make videos I’d definitely watch that plus the regular FGC content
Catch Brian playing Elden Ring on the Brian_F Clips channel
If throw is going to be half the game, they could at least make it more interesting than it is. Dozens of strike options, 2 throws.
Kimberly is one of my favorite designs. Sadly she isn’t broken like some other characters.
She got nerfed way too much.
Kim is so rad and all three of her outfits are amazing but yeah she's just got one too many issues
She's another new character I hope becomes more of a main stay, she deserves it.
She's still good though just like the rest of the cast. There's Kimberlys up in legend like every other character, she's got some swag :)
Throw fighter always fun
Any plans for more T8 content soon?
Damn that Cammy was pretty good
Brian is really amazing. Reacting to slow moves with perfect parry; throwing opponents who tap parry. Looks like fundamental stuff, but a lot of people don't pull these fundamental tricks out
Kim is an awful matchup for ed, she just corners you so fast and can pressure well without fear of our slow dp and level 1. Into cammy, lol, maybe an even worse matchup.
You made a great run though. Well done!
Been maining ed for like a week and man... I get it now. He feels like he has all the tools on paper but they are all kinda finicky. Can for sure be a menace at high level but its so hard to be consistent with him compared to everyone else ive played.
Hey brian, hope you're doing ok. Noticed that spider on your wall in the start of the video and just hope it didn't get you
Me, a onebro: I'm sorry Brine but I need you to lose ASAP just this once so we can get back to the Scadutree
Song name at 14:00?
what's the song at 4:35 the description always misses the playlist when theres a really good bg song
14:41 song?
Theme of Asuka (Raito Remix) - Asuka 120% Burning
it actually makes me feel a little better that Brine tilts at the same things I do
"If I get washed we're playing SoTE"
Oh so get washed twice
i love ice
いい雰囲気これ
Did Brian ever reveal why he mains Ed now?
Brine’s Ed reminds me of his Oro journey 🙂
I would definitely watch another resident evil typa series
ANGRY COMMENT ABOUT SOL
Ayyy that Kim in the first match is an OK local 💪🏻
The whole "online premier" has always been an oxymoron
Brian's reaction lvl 3 @13:00 was sick.
Bust games, phenomenal Ed gameplay
I don’t ever see you use the fire ball drive rush heavy punch combo
5:08
How did he block
12:58
Lol the schmoovement
Brian not doing the optimal level 2 combo?
Not exactly easy.
bro lost to :) lasagna, that's brutal
Was having a real crappy week, but your WW run brightened my day
Happy Independence Day USA
What happened to JP?
I have no idea what’s going on anymore. I’m lost 😞. In the days of SF4 and SF5 every weekend was a streamed tournament, maybe even 2 and now it’s like who knows wtf is going on
I stopped watching now 😢
I usually stick to the big name tournaments, so many regional runs to keep track of so I don't bother anymore also
Right now there're a lot of regional online tournaments for the CPT, but there are still offline majors like CEO that happened just last weekend.
If you look up Liquipedia Tier 1 FGC tournaments you can find future majors. Like EVO is coming up in a few weeks
Someone should make a web tool to simplify things, so you can filter through tournaments to find when specific players are playing etc
@@beam5655 thanks 🙏
@@goob8945 Liquipedia lists the notable players that have signed up for tournaments, and have a list of upcoming tournaments. But this usually becomes public around a week in advance, you can't see who is going to EVO just yet for example. They also have a page for the CPT which organizes this mess of a schedule.
If people like the tricky play of Ed, why not just play superior aki
? Ed is a mid-range character with long normals. Aki is pretty much anything but that. She’s basically a projectile character that uses her fireball to protect her approach and get close, while avoiding the mid-range. They’re not similar characters outside of the fact that they both do purple things lol
@@plannedtuna8293 I think OP just meant they're both characters that require a lot of work to play compared to the more braindead characters. Rashid and Dahlsim also fall into this.
@@treytison1444 Could be. That said, as a Rashid player I don’t think he requires anywhere near the amount of work as Ed, AKI, or Sim. He’s strong in very straightforward ways and has his ridiculous level 2 - which unlike Ed’s level 2 for example, doesn’t require any complex setup. Just get any knockdown and let it rock. Obviously he has his enhanced special moves and some unique combos but that stuff is pretty easy to learn.
Either parries need to change, or throw loops need to change. Throw loops are obviously necessary because of parry, but it is so absolutely anti-hype and kills the pace of any match. All of these rad matches, only to be capped off by a Cammy throwing more than most grapplers can do in a full set.
Nah it’s fine
@@doubledippin8971 Thank you for your incredibly valuable input. It's literally one of the most complained things as players + spectators, because it's an incredibly boring sequence to both play through, on both sides, and to witness as a spectator.
But no, everything is fine, let's consume and never think. :)
@@supremeheroism7524 yeah that’s what I’m saying
@@supremeheroism7524 You saying just consume, never think yet your argument is that it’s one of the most complained about things by players and spectators? Such original thinking Einstein....
@@mikey22355 What the fuck are you on about? Just because a thought isn't original, doesn't mean it doesn't hold value. The "just consume, never think" is more so a statement about accepting things without having thoughts about it, or wanting it to improve. Accepting the status quo. I don't even understand how one could jump through so many hoops to reach your attempted point.
It's such a shame that Capcom Cup is no longer the culmination of worldwide vetting that most people probably still assume it to be. And now that they've gotten rid of LCQ, you can't meaningfully say it's any kind of endgame tournament at all. The only thing left is a showcase between individualized groups who won the geographical lotto. Effectively, EVO is now the climax of the CPT.
I respectfully disagree . I do think that losing the LCQ is a shame but the world warriors will technically be our end game since it’s something you earn over time & not you having a good day winning a premier
@@problemsnearyou8899 It's a format specifically designed to prevent Capcom Cup's roster from being an accurate reflection of the world's best, in favor of an essentially arbitrary geographical mandate. My argument here is this: Capcom Cup's final brackets will not contain the world's top 48, _full stop._ Furthermore, a tournament whose top 48 is stacked with the world's best _will be more hype to watch_ than a tournament whose roster is predominantly dictated by where people happen to live. One may argue that it's cool to see a tournament filled with people most of the FGC have never even heard of. Sure, it is! But you don't get to pretend that it's cool that the alleged culmination of a year's worth of vetting is _that._ The World Warrior system should instead lead to an "opening act" at Capcom Cup before the grand finale of a traditionally-arrived top 48.
It's way more interesting this way
@@problemsnearyou8899 It's a format calculated to result in a roster predominantly dictated by an arbitrarily-arrived regional system. My argument is this: Capcom Cup is the final CPT event. The implication-and indeed the way it used to work out-is that it's the culmination of an _unfiltered_ process to amass the best in the world. Without controversy, Capcom Cup's brackets will _not_ be the top 48 players in the world. Not even close. Furthermore, a top 48 featuring the world's best will inherently be more hype to watch than a top 48 whose placings were determined primarily by where the individuals happened to live. Yes, there's an argument to be made over how neat it is to see players most people never heard of. Fine! Make the "World Warrior" brackets the opening act. But don't steal away the legitimacy of a proper top 48.

Trash gameplay, but crazy insight on the whole pizza vs burger
