True. Though would be nice to have a non combat utility helicopter, even just a Bell 206 for just random flying. But yeah looking forward to the Kiowa 👌
Right up my alley since I use DCS mostly as a flight simulator...the rockets and bombs are just a little bonus. How does anyone remember weapon procedures for a dozen different jets?
Me personally i just bind the same buttons/switches for all the aircraft, all my stuff like master arm, a-g or a-a mode, weapon select are in all airframes on the same buttons/switches on my hotas. That makes it beyond intuitive to go between planes since you only really have to learn em once to map the keys
@@Halozocker104 I like to keep my HOTAS as true-to-airframe as I can, but I find that I can remember controls somehow. Nice little bonus for me haha. For example, I have a two-way with push hat on the side of my stick. On the Mirage F1, I have it mapped to the trigger cover, which is stupid fun. Flip forward on the two-way hat and pull the trigger.
i think it would be really cool to see you doing realistic military helicopter training operations in either the UH-1, Apache, or black hawk but in an Australian Army Livery as i am yet to see you using an ADF skin. Love watching your content and you mentioned you love to just fly so in think it would be awesome to see you doing training operations in a black hawk doing combat landing out ina field, and then going to a local soccer field and showing the community (in game) the helicopter stuff like that i do it in MSFS and DCS and i enjoy it a lot! keep up the content man love your videos!
Thanks! Only issue is the Blackhawk mod isn't really for me. It's decent for a mod I guess and great to have as a static object but to look at from the inside it's a bit rough and I'm not convinced it would have particularly realistic flight dynamics either as a mod. With regards to loading/ unloading of troops - yes that has crossed my mind many times but ED really need to add some sort of animations for troops loading, unloading and maybe going down ropes or whatnot... otherwise the immersion is somewhat broken. Thanks though! I'm sure I'll create some more fun chopper stuff. Will start using Australian skins when we get the Top End Australia map :)
@@CommandT Yeah I understand your problems with the Black hawk, it does take away a decent amount of realism when flying in sim. I guess you either deal with it or don't, but for me I deal with it as it is pretty awesome to fly around in especially when you have a friend (in VR) load mastering in the back. I am also waiting on ED to add any animation regarding that, it really sucks! Personally i don't see it being too big of a challenge and I know a lot of players would love to see that. However it confuses me that it is yet to exist as the C-130 mod does have an animation of troops and cargo entering, and exiting the aircraft. Although it is very basic it really does make a difference in experience and realism to a mission. Anyways , thanks for the response it is amazing to be able to talk with someone like yourself, and i am very much looking forward to your next video!
I think the helo that would both make you happy about it's agility, and still have military application would be an MH-6 Little bird. Old enough that it would get coverage in Cold War servers as well. ECW server could allow it to carry 1 squad of infantry, or recon. I'd love to fly that in DCS!
Awesome vid. I'm looking to get into DCS and helis and am shopping for controllers. I'm guessing you use the Virpil T-50CM3 Throttle for the collective?
Awesome video huey is great module hopefully with the upcoming engine rework will spark an entire module overhaul, fingers crossed. @CommandT are you using a sound mod in the video?
@@CommandT yeah, it's very...........twitchy. I haven't played in quite a few years, but I think I got the Gazelle around the time it first became available and the time I got quite good at flying the Huey. Could not keep the Gazelle in the air at all. Something to do with the flight or control system the aircraft has or something.......but it's definitely very difficult to fly. I do agree with you though, Eagle Dynamics need to add some fun, nippy little commercial helicopters into DCS.......for milk runs and such 😆
Totally Unreal !!! In real life, first of all, you would break all the plants around your house because of the wind from the rotor. The plants here haven't moved a bit. There is no wind effect from the propeller here. Secondly, where are the birds here, especially around the swamp and so many trees? In real life you would pick up at least 10 birds if you flew this low and damaged the helicopter. Well, that would be really realistic if this was a simulation and not a game.
Pretty poor graphics. You think the trees could be made to move. I also think object collision is not working or you would have wiped out about 50 times.

Looks fine for me
For me, it's the thumping that makes me like the huey.
Yeah gives me the flashbacks
Gazelle would be a nice fit for this mission.
I was going to suggest that, or the Kiowa now that it's out.
this is amazing! excellent flying
Thanks! :)
The Kiowa is in flight testing, and should be right around the corner. Will be right up your alley!

The gazelle with the new update will give you the fizz ^^ she is so nimble !!
@@CommandT Chinook Incoming finally
How the hell are you so good with the Huey? The way you took off and went max speed almost instantly was amazing

That A-Team van!
The Huey is my favourite bird to fly in DCS! She's a dream, especially when doing CSAR😊
If u love flying the huey u would be always my prey 😂😂😂 i love hunting down huey in my ka50 or my hind ❤

@@CommandT Have you flown the Blackhawk at all?
Man I really hope ED pours some more love into the Huey. The cockpit model needs some serious re-work.
Totally agree!!
Super flying! Need to fly more heli low level on the Marianas islands.
Thanks! :)
you dont take your miata grocery shopping, you take your UH-1 minivan
Exactly!
The always beautiful iconic Huey helicopter aka the UH-1H Huey in this case
Awesome!
Ha, yep, thanks ;)

can you IMAGINE the rotorwash on the guys next and under his blades at the shop 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Haha 😝
Want fast roll rate? One word: Gazelle!
Yeah but it’s kinda a very specific military chopper. Doesn’t feel quite right messing about in a non-combat environment 😩
I encourage you to become an Helicopter Pilot .. never too late.
And yes, MD500 belongs to that map for sure.
Oh yeah, I will for sure!! 😀
Hey the Huey is good for the job there my friend
Fantastic, incredible....
Ha, thanks! :)
Wwwoooo u land like real pilot😮
Cant even block that puppy in its perfect

@CommandT are you using a sound mod in the video?
Thanks! Nope, no sound mod. Stock DCS. And yes it would be great if they remastered the Huey to Apache/ BS3 levels!
@@CommandT ofc we would want a whole new Huey later period perhaps but even the 1H with a remodel would be amazing such a work horse machine :)
What mods are you using or what video settings or what gamma. It looks incredible!
Gamma 2 and reshade. If you have a look at my F-18 Best Mods video you’ll see my reshade settings closer to the end 👍
@Command T thanks buddy. Honestly appreciate it
Can i request a video doing something like that with the Apache on this map?
I don’t have the Apache, sorry 😞
Oh no😮 its so much fun to fly, so agile and powerful. I would definitely look into it when the next sale comes up@@CommandT
Custom scenery? Or base mariana one?
Marianas islands with some objects and that’s it
that looks fun, What DCS Map are you flying?
Marianas 👍
You could do with the oh6 mod, since that's very small and nimble
Done! Check out my latest video 😃
@@CommandT Nice just watched it! I don't know if it was just me who suggested it or some other people too but either way thanks!
Very cool friend, I'm new to DCS, which map is this?
Nice flying! How do you get so smooth panning on the camera in external view?
Thanks! Just set the key binds for the view controls and use them instead of your mouse. Or you can bind them to a hat switch
The beginning of the video you linked, where you're landing on a small dock, where the heck is that? Is it a mod?
It's a mod. Civilian Assets Pack - Nautical by Eight Ball I think. You can just place the island/ light house anywhere you like :)
@@CommandT Found it, thanks!
Oh man! You're sooooo good at flying this machine!! I could use you to fly gunship model C during the VN war.
You use track IR?
As in previous comment. Yes 🙂
We need the AH-1F or Super Huey added....
What about the Gazelle?
I wasn't crazy about it since I saw an aeronautical engineer pick some holes in it's flight model. However must admit I've never tried it.

At least there is no protesters, terrorists or UPS workers trying to kill you.
And it is not raining cats ;-)
Can you play this game on pc?
It’s only for PC
My dad took off for milk and never came back...
i want to be a Huey helicopter pilot in real life so bad maybe someday
Who doesn’t!
@@CommandT Good point
That was very expensive milk run, better and much cheaper if the milk was delivered. Anyway hope you enjoy the hundreds of dollars milk.
A bit expensive to go get some milk :)
But very efficient!
I guess power lines aren’t modeled in DCS, huh..
They are. You hit them - you die
Little Bird would do It better
Pretty poor graphics. You think the trees could be made to move. I also think object collision is not working or you would have wiped out about 50 times.
A) trees do move now.
B) yes the collision and damage is most certainly switched on. I got very close but did not crash into anything.
gonna try this in my gazelle and then my hind. the hind is perfect for this (not)
Yeah the hind is gonna be a bit cumbersome :)
The helo control and flight model is very much 'arcade game' quality. Not impressed at all.
Ironic considering a real-life Huey pilot told me the exact opposite.
