- I Survived The Finnish Army! "The Finnish Defence Forces." I Leonardo DeValen (Leonardo Licciardo-Toivola) also give a life update since it is now 2024 and I have been gone for a long time! In the finnish military, many stories are told and here I am telling my finnish army story on how I survived the cold winter. I was in the Finnish Defence Forces for a full year (347 days) and talk about what I went through and my journey of becoming a conscript priest as well as leader in the finnish army.

I'm sure your family is so proud of you, following your journey as a young couple has been fun. It's so cool that you let each other chase dreams and don't hold each other back and I'm so glad you keep finding your way back to each other...just keep doing that forever but it was not nice to make us think there was a baby and it then it was an adorable puppy so it's forgivable but someday I hope you both have the joy of parenthood, I'm positive your mother has mentioned how great being a mom is...hahahaha...plenty of time for that...and we need more than a once a year update!

My husband truly felt a calling from God to join the US military. Now 14 years later I can see His hand so much in our lives. When we chose to follow God and take the huge leap in faith our lives expanded and grew and became so blessed and amazing. He will serve 6 more years and retire after 20 years served

You have so much value. No matter how we are raised or taught. I went through something similar. The best thing you can give your wife and she can give you is how valuable you are to each other and to the world around you. Say positive affirmations every morning when you get up, and all through the day. I am worth everything. I am positive, I am special, I am handsome, I am strong, I am a leader, I trust God, I believe in my future, I believe in my marriage, I am a leader, ...obviously the Army saw very positive things in you, so let those little seeds grow into the strong leader that you are. I've had to overlook many challenges from my childhood. I know what it is like to be raised by a narcissistic parent. Also keep in mind that you still have a family of siblings younger than you. You are their leader and someday they will come to you for strength. You have that power because you have overcome, especially the last year! Congratulations on your advancement through the army and your going to school. You are special.

Brings back many memories. I served as a medic in Karjalan Prikaati in 2015. Fun times with the boys. Wild how it's been almost 10yrs. Time certainly flies fast.
Well done, when i served, we had one guy who came from Australia to serve, he didn`t have to, but he wanted. Respect to You! I served 362 days, it was maximum back in the days :)

God, I really appreciate your service, especially in these bloody awful and critical times! Back in my time in the mid-90's I pretty much totally hated the service in all honesty, wasn't a very natural soldier to say the least :) But I totally loved my mates, the mad sense of humour, the solidarity, the mutual support. It was and is an honourable army to join and serve in, it will not attack, but it will so bloodymindedly defend.

"Even if it's impossible, if God has a way, nothing can stop it" Thank you for that Leonardo, I think this is something we all need to hear and remember from time to time (at least, its something that I needed to hear now, I've been feeling kind of "stuck" for lack of a better word lately and trapped but I need to remember that God has this and His timing will be right)
Being in army isnt about being strongest by muscle, but being mentaly strong. And i can see why you were promoted, you are wellspoken and you have something about you that people will listen and do as you say. I myself was militarypolice and i think that is what you were too, and it is hard both physicly and mentaly but mostly mentaly. You must have been the guy who pushed everyone to do their best.
I am so happy to see your growth. You seem more mature and I just loved to hear how you see God’s plan unraveling in your life. Please do not become social media obsessed. Keep living your life and invite us once in a while to share the journey with you.
This was such a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing all the ups and downs. God does have a way of making things work out for us even when we think we are not worthy. He has known us from day one. Being a grateful and caring person is our way of saying Thank you God.

I served when it was still 362 days, but fully agree on the first 2 weeks/months. After basic training, the best year of my life.

And I'm in the higher ranks of the NCO's myself. I'm really expecting the military service will be in his advantage.

@@Alexandros.Mograine Army teaches you how to avoid duty and appear busy without doing anything. Oh and "fastest hand wins" prize is always more work.

I saw you a couple of times when I was visiting my son in Tikkakoski. My son is also in military police/security guard (suojaus). His service ends this month.
