IMPORTANT. I see someone is ‘replying saying ‘we would like to discuss’ etc. THIS IS NOT ME! I will be doing a live stream to pick the winner i will not be commenting things like that. Thanks .
Hi Dan, great to see that not everyone disses ALDI and Lidl products. Their not meant to be used in building the Forth bridge, just use them as intended and they'll be great for a long time. Thanks for your time and easy way of introducing these products to an ancient modeller.
Whenever you make a new video on affordable tools I pop into these two stores, and Lidl in particular has a great selection on offer. Thanks for sharing👍
My own experience of Aldi and Lidl tools over the last 20 years (alongside my professional tools such as HiKoki) is to steer clear of any Aldi own brand - several times I got caught out with items that failed well short of warranty. The Lidl Parkside Tools, on the other hand, are generally very durabIe. I would rate them as the best budget brand - better than Ryobi or Einhell, and a lot cheaper. I have a Parkside SDS drill with clutch and chisel function for heavy work, that cost £40, which I have used for building work for the last 15 years. Apart from replacing a pair of carbon brushes, it has performed as well as my Hitachi SDS drill, which cost 10 times more.
As a mechanical engineer and toolmaker by trade (30 years) I have this to say about ALDI and Lidl tools,For home and hobby work 80% of their tools are absolutely fine and capable for the price.Would I strip a bus engine or use for precise machining with them?NO, because that's not what they are for. They are for the home user and hobbyist and they do a very good job.Thank you for a great video
Hi Dan thanks for your honest review of Lidl and Aldi products I have watched your videos for a while and have now subscribed and added one more to your total. I hope watching revives my interest in model railways.
These tools are great. I like the tool holder in the screwdriver kit. I use all these kind of tools for my hobby. The tool holders look good for holding a broom etc.
Good introductory and description of the tools on this video. Both stores offer good value budget tools, of reasonable quality both from both had no problems.
Nice stuff - I'm a bit of a hog for Parkside stuff - several drills and other power tools, with several batteries and chargers from the 12V and 20V ranges. I should look at their handtools more - the screwdrivers you show would be very handy!
Well done Dan like your videos have bought some of the tools that you show knowing someone has tried them out helps me buy the good tools. And I have just subscribed to your channel.
I’ve had various tools from Aldi and I have never had a problem, I’ve had anything from Lidl so don’t know much about the quality of their products but I would assume they are as good. It’s very helpful to have someone like yourself buy these products and show them on here. I hope you keep up the good work with more of these informative videos.
Often walk past tools in both stores. I do have a Parkside Angle Grinder. Never has an issue with that. Will be looking a bit harder next time, you have awakened my curiosity.
Always worth looking over the DIY section of these stores. I've found Lidl handy for picking up hand tools and sundry parts (file sets, clamps, squares, sets of washers / o-rings / jubilee clips). Parkside power tools look fine for occasional home users if they only need say a drill and jigsaw. If you're going to use cordless tools regularly it's better to invest in a major brand for quality and range (Makita in my case), horses for courses. Less critical choosing corded gear; I bought a Scheppach drill press when it was on offer, and two Parkside wet n dry vacuum cleaners as shop vacs. Long live budget friendly options.
Both Lidl & Aldi are about a 35 mile round trip away, so it's great to see what's on offer BEFORE trekking all that way. Got a few great items after watching your reviews and hope to get many more. Your videos are very informative and a great source for products that are very useful for us modellers. Keep up the great work. Kind regards, Bob
The good thing about the Torx set is that includes a T27 which many do not include. Some white goods are constructed with T27 so it makes this set pretty comprehensive.
I like the look of those tool holder grips. I will toddle along to Aldi. I have already got the laser distances measure. Very useful reviewing the tools in Lidl/Aldi.
Hi good info on tool from both stores. I currently move to Cyprus, and I had a hedge over 3 mtrs high and some of the trees was planted 20 years ago. having left behind in England all my gardening equipment I was at a lost to going out and buying new equipment. But Lidl I found a battery operated chainsaw and loppers. I couldn't fault the tool i used job done Thank you Lidl
Hi Dan. Great little bargains there buddy. Love the cutting tool handy bit of kit. Laser light very useful save all the hassle with a tape. Don't know how Parkside can make things so cheap. After watching your vlogs got quite a few bits from Lidl Thanks great information as always. Stay safe. Pete.
Thanks for a great vid again Dan. Same here with L & A tools. Only ever failed when I’ve pushed them too hard. I wish our L & A had the range of tools etc. whenever they’re on offer our stores only have limited range. Was once on holiday near a massive Lidl and couldn’t believe all the tools they had. Wife was furious 😅
I always like to see what Aldi & Lidl have on sale and your channel gives me a good idea, what I like is the fact you take them out of the box and show us what you get. Keep up the good work and thank you.
I have had plenty of Aldi & Lidl tools and have always found the drill bits to be good. I do like the precision screwdrivers, but am not keen on those little binoculars as the 12X magnification is too much for easy use. Such small binoculars work much better at between 6 to 8 times magnification.
Both Lidl and Aldi are a couple of miles from me, so watching your videos lets me know what they're selling in their middle isles without me having to trog all the way there. Thanks.😎👍
Great video and thank you for making these videos as i just moved in my first house and need a drill as these videos helped me therefore i bought my first ever drill which was a parkside Lidi and i got the job that needed doing done.
Cheers for this. I'll have to pop out to see if the one near us has any left. I desperately need some wood bits as you should see me struggling drilling wood using HSS bits 😀
Thanks for the video just a point to note on the screwdriver set you will notice on the handle a hexagon shape so if you do get a tight screw you can use a spanner
With the laser measurer you need to hold the button for a second or so to change the units. A quick press changes the point of measurement from the front of the device to the rear. You can see the icon change on the top left of the screen.
I have a cordless drill from Lidl, it was a snap buy that then got dragooned into use building a bungalow, it's still chugging along and the batteries (the usual failure point for 99% of cordless stuff) are still good and hold a full charge.
I'm finding these videos very useful. I normally shop at Aldi - but they do not put much emphasis on tools. Lidl is quite a drive for me, but if I see something desirable in their tools range I'll make the effort. I'm a hobbyist woodworker on a budget so it is helpful to find concise reviews from an experienced model maker.
Just read your post. You can easily go onto both Aldi & lidl sites & if you hit the sign up button, you will get notice of up coming offers. Hope this helps.
With a three year warranty it’s a no brainier love their tools been watching dean Doherty on his channel fixing all diy and professional tools the guy is a wizard he had some parkside tools in they don’t do spares apparently but depending on what’s wrong they can be fixed yea for the price and a damn good warranty cheaper to replace the tool
Hiya Dan hope you’re well - great video, very informative I always enjoy them It would be brilliant to win something, it’s a kind thing you’re doing Keep up the good work 👍
I've been buying tools from Aldi/Lidl for sometime now and now the wife is building her own small tool kit. The Screwdriver set would be a great addition to her expanding tool box... Thanks for the great video on the tools
Seeing that cutting tool gave me an idea so I'll get one over the weekend and if it works, I'll comment again with the use for it. It is model railway related. Useful video as useual, thanks :)
4:00 What, no Robertson screw driver tips????? There should be at least a #1 & #2, we colonials in Canada are very disappointed! 😀 Great revue, Cheers, Geoff
Thanks Dan, I bought my rotary tool from Lidl after watching one of your videos. They have a good rotary tool pack with carry case at my local one at the moment. Fun fact - the Parkside brand name comes from the name of Lidl’s first UK HQ building in Wimbledon. David
IMPORTANT. I see someone is ‘replying saying ‘we would like to discuss’ etc. THIS IS NOT ME! I will be doing a live stream to pick the winner i will not be commenting things like that. Thanks .
Thanks, just got one and have reported it
Me too I’m afraid. Thanks for clarifying quickly that it’s not yourself.
Enjoy seeing the tools I normally buy . Also save me going to see what there is.good report
Hi Dan, great to see that not everyone disses ALDI and Lidl products. Their not meant to be used in building the Forth bridge, just use them as intended and they'll be great for a long time. Thanks for your time and easy way of introducing these products to an ancient modeller.
What about building railway tunnels?

Great video. Have watched lots of your videos on Lidl tools and have always found them to be brilliantly accurate. Thanks very much
Hi I have used both Aldi and Lidl tools for years and have always liked them . Very good value and excellent quality. Keep up with the videos.👍🏻😎👍🏻
Not all good quality. Depends who made the tools for aldi and lidl.
Great seeing you do review's about the Aldi tools and Lidl supermarket tools.after your options I do get some for home DIY
Simply the best informative videos please ! Thank you for all your efforts
Hi Dan thanks for your honest review of Lidl and Aldi products I have watched your videos for a while and have now subscribed and added one more to your total. I hope watching revives my interest in model railways.
Great review - no music just informative description. Yes these tools are very handy for light work. Perfect for my planes
Always love the videos to see what’s in store, managed to grab a few things before they ran out because of them. Thank you
I used that exact same distance measurer when laying laminated flooring at a friend house. Brilliant and accurate bit of kit!
Why did you need it to lay laminated flooring? I can’t see the use!?

Great video - love the variety of tools that these outlets offer!

Nice to keep up to date with "what's new" in these stores so always look out for your videos!
Later level looks good. I've just spent a small fortune on Dewalt drill bit set. Never thought of using Aldi/Lidl bits. Thanks gor the DIY tips
Very fair assessment of Lidl kit. Stuff I haven't seen yet in our local branch! Keep at it; keep them coming, do!
Great videos, nice to see what's new at Aldi and Lidl always had great tools from them

Hi, Dan love Aldi and Lidl centre isle have over the years bought various tools including the drills no problems … great video
Often walk past tools in both stores. I do have a Parkside Angle Grinder. Never has an issue with that. Will be looking a bit harder next time, you have awakened my curiosity.
I like Parkside tools, haven't had many problems but never had a problem with returning an item if faulty. Like your content.

The laser measurer looks like a handy piece of kit, I'll look out for that next time I'm in my local Lidl 👍👍.

Been watching for a few months now. Great videos, only wish that either a Lidl or Aldi was anywhere near me? Keep it up. 😊
Both shops offer really good value for tools. I am still using my Parkside mains Soldering station.
00.33 been using Parkside bits in my Dremel for a while now, decent quality and much cheaper 👍
Hi Dan, very informative videos on tools & gives you some idea of the quality of tools aswell

great stuff Dan their tools are great for what we use them for. very handy to have m8 and you always keep us on the wright track🚂
Hi Dan first time seen your video and I’m liking it so far the screw driver set looks really good

Parkside tools I find are excellent
Great review. Glad I found your channel. Nice if the Parkside screw driver sets were in a case. For the price its still good value .
Parkside tools are pretty good stuff for home diy use.

Nice mix of tools thanks for the suggestion.
Hiya Dan hope you’re well - great video, very informative I always enjoy them
It would be brilliant to win something, it’s a kind thing you’re doing
Keep up the good work 👍
Got a smaller size presision screwdriver set, excellent with the multi directional driver 👍🏻👍🏻
I've been buying tools from Aldi/Lidl for sometime now and now the wife is building her own small tool kit.
The Screwdriver set would be a great addition to her expanding tool box...
Thanks for the great video on the tools
I use their screwdrivers professionally and they are great 👍 outperformed my facom ones for comfort and size variety at a fraction of the price 😁
Lidl do some very good items. I bought those magnetic trays for nuts and bolts.
I bought the magnetic trays last week. Perfect for storing tiny screws when working on model railways.
Thank you i like Parkside tools espeicially the 3 yr guarantee
Seeing that cutting tool gave me an idea so I'll get one over the weekend and if it works, I'll comment again with the use for it. It is model railway related. Useful video as useual, thanks :)
Thanks for the great video. It was very informative. Too bad we don't have Aldi or Lidl in Washington State. Keep up the good work!
Excellent review Dan, I just need to work out how to smuggle more tools past the wife! I particularly like the look of the distance measurer.
Awesome tools,, always forget to look there.
Some great little tools from those places good luck to all 🇬🇧👍
4:00 What, no Robertson screw driver tips????? There should be at least a #1 & #2, we colonials in Canada are very disappointed! 😀
Great revue, Cheers, Geoff
Some great stuff to be had at aldi and lidl. Also while I'm looking at the tools i don't need to walk round shopping with the missus... 😂
really enjoyed watching all your repair videos
Thanks Dan, I bought my rotary tool from Lidl after watching one of your videos. They have a good rotary tool pack with carry case at my local one at the moment.
Fun fact - the Parkside brand name comes from the name of Lidl’s first UK HQ building in Wimbledon.
David
Another great video Dan. Would love the screwdriver set.
I always look forward to these video's.
Never ceases to amaze me how Aldi and Lidl keep rotating such a large array of tools etc.
Hi, I am always interested in watch tool reviews. I just subscribed.
Not sure I would put the tool holders outside, the metal looks quite thin, they could rust quite quickly if you’re near the sea.
