Conjunctions in Vedic Astrology
Conjunctions and Aspects - Conjunctions Any 2 planets which are placed in the same sign are called conjunct. Planets that are conjunct will influence each other a great deal. The smaller the distance is between the planets, the stronger the interaction is. However, it is not auspicious for the planets to be closer than a degree. Also, any planet which is closer than 5 degrees from the Sun will noticably get afflicted by the "heat" of the Sun, and is called combust. (The exact distance required for combustion is different for every planet). Not only do the planets exchange their own characteristics, but also the significations of the lordships. This can create a rather complex interaction if each planet rules two houses! Each planet will carry the significations of each house it rules, and its own significations. All these significations will influence and be influenced by the significations of the other planets and the houses that planet rules. This whole interaction will be taking place in the house and sign where the conjunction takes place, bringing in yet another set of significations.

The Vedic interpretation is deep and detailed compared to the western approach.
I remember reading that the Moon at 13 degrees of Leo shows that the Mother will abandon the child with this position: that was in a vedic text. It blew me: how can it be so precise? I happen to have this position and with Pluto conjunct to my Moon: for me, the signature of my story of abandonment was in the Pluto conjunction. But the Vedic text mentioned the degree and got it right! Well, between the Vedic precision and the western conjunction with Pluto, I wasn't going to escape my fate! Double whammy! 😆

Thank you for confirming the conjunction between planets in close degrees but different signs as this confused me when it came to Vedic astrology as some astrologers in Vedic websites do not consider it a conjunction when planets are very close in degrees but are in different signs but it didn’t make sense to me especially coming from western astrology since it would still count as a conjunction from their perspective. I have Pisces moon at 27 degrees and Aries Sun 0 degrees so it’s very close and bhava chalit places both of them in my 5th house. I really like your analogy of one being at the entry door of a house vs one being at the backyard going to enter another house. I’m not sure if applying and separating is used in Vedic astrology but I know in western astrology some astrologers applies the technique when a planet is running towards another planet or running away from another planet based on the degrees and natural speed of the planets involved.

The Mercury is the signifacator for the communication...When Saturn (10th and 11th lord0 Conjoins the Mercury(3rd and 6th Lord) it impacts the mercury and mercury becomes more serious...and more stable..But Also makes one doubtful about its communication..
Any Planet in the 11th is welcome..Saturn in Aquarius Becomes its own sign..

Hello sir, first of all its a great video. I m a Leo ascendant , in 3rd house I have mercury(5 degree), Venus (19 degree) , Jupiter( 20 degree), Rahu ( 23 degree).Actually Venus is in Swati and Jupiter is in Visakha nakhatra, so is it a conjunction ? What could be it's effect ? Also I m running Jupiter mahadasha

Does the effect of conjunction of nodes with planets stay on forever? If not? Then from which age things would start to ease? Ex sun and ketu conjunction! This conjunction means loss of ego and confidence! Will the effect remain on the native throughout his life? In this case sun(29 degree) and ketu(0 degree) are in leo sign in 9th house! Sun is in own purvaphalguni nakshatra and ketu is in own magha nakshatra! Very confusing here?

What is sign placement is different but house is same. Say rahu in sagittarius 15 degress, Mercury in Scorpio 29 degress. But in bhava chalit they fall under same house. Will it be called as conjunction.
