You have exquisite taste! The video is packed with ideas, clearly explained and shown in a helpful way. Thank you, Mariola. I expect your channel will explode with subscribers before long.
thanks for all the tips. i am a middle aged man, who shops mostly second hand. and i love learning about how to find good quality clothing. i respect your minimalist style, it is your stage and your rules. but i would love to see your experience to discus other styles too.
i just bought 2 faux turtleneck pieces...so it looks like I'm wearing a turtleneck without the bulk. Great video! We have very similar taste in style and color.
I'm always amazed at how much you inspire me! It never gets boring! ❤ For layering, I also like to use tops with a hood. This creates a layering effect on the décolleté and also on the back. A current trend that also plays with layering is wearing bangles over long-sleeved tops.
Thank you for another excellent video packed with so many styling and layering tips! I liked the way you built on each layer to create cohesive and stylish looks that are unique to your style. I'm all for layering not just for thermal or aesthetic reasons but it also protects my knitwear from my skin and needing excessive washing. In colder months I use lightweight down jackets under wool coats that have no lining and as you pointed out, it makes such a significant difference without adding too much bulk and of course, are removeable in case of over-heating... xx
You’re the first stylist I’ve seen to make the distinction between thermal and aesthetic layering, it’s important. I have a third reason for layering, to protect my hyper-sensitive skin from wool and cashmere’s itchiness and irritation. I can’t wear synthetic-fiber knits, the usual alternative, so I wear silk jersey, long sleeved t-shirts underneath and a silk petticoat or long john pants as necessary. I have some pleated polyester skirts, so I wear a silk petticoat under those, too, to prevent the poly from causing allergic rashes. A silk layer also adds the right amount of warmth for my mild California climate and helps keep my garments clean. I did finally find all-silk pleated skirts, from Lily Silk, love them.
I love love love your style. Such great advice dor making the most ofcwhat we have. Great basics. I am in my mid 60s. Sending my love 💓 vall the way from Manila 🇵🇭 Philippines
Great tips especially the puffer jacket one. We have similar taste in clothes and outfits however I tend to lean way too often into the casual/comfortable side of my personal style. I'm slowly learning how to elevate my day looks without feeling like it's a lot of effort.
I love monochrome because it elongates me, however it can be a little boring unless you add preferably two colours, to make it a 3-colour outfit. For example a scarf, bag or great outerwear. Pearls - I've never liked them, they look very old-fashioned and dated imo, you never see young women wear them - for a reason. As for mid-life and older women, they look very ageing on them. I prefer fine chains with elegant/meaningful charms in one or mixed metals.
thank you so much for all your tips regarding elongating my body (which I understand are very valuable when you are petite), but I don't always dress to look the slimmest or the tallest, sometimes I like a certain silhouette and thats good enough for me. I see a lot of young men and women wearing pearls, its all about styling - if you layer pearls with modern silver or gold necklace and modern clothes it all comes together😊 but luckily fashion is different for everyone and we have the freedom to wear what we love xxx
Great video, but I have a couple of comments. I am not crazy about shirts, too much maintenance, ironing, washing, esp. if they're (off)white, also they feel to formal and are not warm in winter. I only have one in a lovely muted pattern and I always always tuck it in, I wear it under a knitted waistcoat, jumper or cardigan. Untucked shirt and cropped trousers, alone or together, shorten you. I am petite and they're definitely a no-no for me, I like to lengthen my silhouette as much as possible. Puffer jackets are never elegant or chic, I don't care how warm they are, there are other ways of layering for warmth, like wearing Uniqlo or Marks and Spencer's thermal long-sleeve tops which come in multiple colours, red, brown, blue, as well as nude, white, black, grey, etc. Puffer jackets contain animal feathers so they're on the same level as wearing real fur, I hate the thought that an animal was plucked for its feathers, so cruel and unnecessary, please don't wear them or choose those with a synthetic filling. Thank you.
Everything amazing however someone who does not know anything about fashion and jhow to put outfits together thisvideo was way too fast with so much information. I did get it of course but what about the fashion beginners????? That said it was great.
So stylish as always! I need to watch again, pause, screen shot and run upstairs to see how I can create similar looks! Very inspirational.

Some of your pieces (fitted vest, blazer) look a bit too long on you and they shorten you.
