Great video. Thanks. On mine I had to take the trailer hitch off completely to get the movement to tighten the chain. My machine is 14 years old and this is the first chain I have put on it since 2007. Thanks again for a great how to vid.
If you change the chain, it's best to change the spockets because they are mostly likely worn as well. If you don't, you run the risk of the chain slipping off the sprockets when you put torque on them.
I was told about a hole in the right side of the sprocket that you can put a pin, nail, or philip's screwdriver into and then rock the bike back and forth. I was hoping that this video would show that, but it didn't. Bummer. I did my 2001 TB 325 the exact same way you did, and even used the same tool.
I noticed the tires are on the ground , but couldn't tell if the bike stays stationary or not ? totally like your video though, I just put in a gas valve with the on, off, and res positions though stuck cause , there wasn't a valve before , and looks like two lines were connected before if you ever do a video on that be cool : )
Strap wrench is awesome if you have one. But I actually found a hole in the side of the sprocket that you put a phillips screwdriver through and it holds it. No wrench needed!
I would buy a new chain... if it's stretching all the time. . It's gonna eventually snap. Better to spend $30 or $40 on a new chain. .then push your ATV out of the woods.
It’s 2021 and this still helps me

Even with the wobbly screen, I managed to tighten my chain COUNTERCLOCKWISE and works!!! Thanks, but I am still a little dizzy.
Awesome thanks. My chain is now tightened.

Thanks a TON! I was only loosening the 2 hitch bolts and that wasn't working...Same on my 2002 Trail Boss 325!

1 inch play you mean by wiggling the chain up and down it should move in total an inch?
i turn mine and it wont tighten what could be the problem?
Ralph Storrs the same thing happens to me and then about one week later my chain broke, I recommend getting a new one
are you moving the whole bike when you use the 2. 1/2 inch wrench , or is the bike in gear
great video! very informative.

How often does a chain stretch? Would one have to do this a few times a year?
+M “Mesofluk” Mesluk I have been riding for 3 years and I have only don't mine once.
Thanks for the video.. very helpful.
I wasnt aware Ray Ramamo was into atvs
I keep tightening my chain and it always loosens up alot after driving about a mile

Does dis work on a 2000 trail boss 325?
+Roman Stevens yes, it is identical. Also the 2001.
Will this work on a 2006 Trailboss? Nice Video
Thanks!
Good information but bad camera work
It’s a 9 year old video…camera quality was rough back then.
Again, apparently nobody can afford a droplight....
