    I own the same model and I have to say most of the cons you mention are subjective/specimen-specific/bad handling related.
    The rubber caps? It's a good practice to check them and use some adhesive to keep them in place if they get loose.
    The caps for charging - they don't open in my scooter. The placement is awesome, because neither any obstacle nor your foot will damage them. Vsett 9 and 10 models have them placed in way worse positions.
    The hurting finger issue is a result of a wrong angle. The throttle/display module should be angled at 10 to 15 degrees and the finger won't hurt you.
    And you should really turn off the zero-start, it's unsafe and your vid proven this as well.

      That's what I was gonna say. Adhesives to keep the caps in place.

    Great review, nice to see a video on this from a consumer rather than a store/professional reviewer.
    Have you tried adjusting the position of the brake lever and throttle so that the throttle is closer to horizontal? Might relieve some finger tension.
    I advise that you get your daughter a full face helmet (just a helmet with a chinguard). ER reports indicate that on electric scooters you are actually more likely to land on your face than the top of your head if you fall off the scooter, which makes sense given the ride position.
    At the end of the day, a normal helmet will at least save your life so great that you got her wearing a helmet at all, but I think it would be beneficial to protect your child's face and jaw from trauma.

      Yup, got her geared up. Will look in to a full face once she feels comfortable above 15mph. For now she's slow enough she can stop with her feet.

    A great feature you could have mentioned is how, with the adjustable steering column, the scooter can grow taller with her.

    Hi I just got one too. When I saw you pulled the trigger at 0:29, I felt that’s dangerous. The staff at the store helped me to set up that seen on manual page 18 P09: zero start and no zero start setting. The scooter won’t rush away if you accidentally pulled the trigger. Just a kind suggestion ❤

    Thanks for this. Finger trigger seems worth the agony in trade for all the other great features. 599 for black friday right now!

    I almost purchased this model with a thumb throttle installed instead of the finger...the thumb throttle made for the Zero series works on the Vsett but you sacrifice the electronic card reader and the display is different (contact your dealer or see Rev Rides in Vancouver).

    Those foldable handlebar skrews are done in about 10seconds. And that's for both of them. I do them at the same time with both hands at the same time. It's very easy and quick. To a small child they might be a bit tough but this is not made for kids. I have to fold them every time I come home after a ride and I like them. Also because it's a "manual skrew" it's much less likely to ever fail. I don't think I'd even want some quick(er) release method in mine. The trigger throttle is kinda dangerous but because I have issue with my right hand it's better for me, I really would not let kids even ride with trigger throttle. It's just way doo dangerous since youre reaction to anything startling you might be to hold on tighter and if you got your finger on it, your gonna floor it at the worst possible time and get hurt. I'm a 45year old man and this was my first scooter, I love it alot but I need a little bit more power for a couple of hill's near me so I have to upgrade to 8+ or 9+. Also I really wish they would make the blinkers timing adjustable in the settings. They blink so damn long it's even slightly dangerous. What I mean is that they blink like 20 times and it takes forever, so you have already made your turn like 10 seconds ago and now your board is still giving the signal that you are about to turn even though you migh be going straight from the next one. It's stupid. There's no way to stop the turn signal unless you push the opposide sides signal.. but then thats on forever. They need to somehow remedy this. The charging port caps are actually great also IMO, they have never come loose and you can never damage them even if you crash. Also 0 chance of water getting in there. Many many boards have them on the sides which is extremely bad. VSett's placement of them is way way better. Also you can get metal skrewable caps on these if for some odd reason the rubber ones are loose. So yea, "no bs" review was kinda bs to me at least. :D

    I got this scooter about a month ago at a discount for only 800€ and I'm very happy with the price/performance. Features like suspension and blinkers are so hard to find at this price range. I did notice the charger being flimsy (it broke on me but I got a replacement), a slight deformation if I pump up the front tire any more than how it came out the store, and am I the only one experiencing the e-scooter automatically slowing down when taking corners at any significant speed? I think it's supposed to be some kind of safety feature which definitely does not make it safe if you're not expecting it.

    • @pacochawa2746
      @pacochawa2746 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe if you have regenerative braking on in the p settings? You can turn them off. If that is the issue. Well in motorcycle teachings during the turn you are supposed to slow before turn and roll on the gas in the turn. I find the slowing actually helpfull then you modulate with throttle control instead of brakes.Braking in turn is a disatrous habbit.

    • @quintendevos7335
      @quintendevos7335 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right@@pacochawa2746, thanks!
      I started cancelling cruise control/letting go of the gas while taking sharp turns so the brakes won't kick in.
      The max speed for scooters where I live is only 25km/h (≈ 15.5mph) so I still think it's unnecessary, except in wet conditions. (I wiped out on an oil spill once with a Xiaomi scooter which has FWD.)
      After fiddling with P11 which controls the EABS, I noticed it was on 3 by default, 1-5 changes intensity of the brakes when taking corners and coasting & 0 turns it off entirely except when I'm braking.

    • @quintendevos7335
      @quintendevos7335 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I replaced the front tire and found out the outer tire had excess rubber so it probably set unevenly over the rim. The replacement doesn't have this deformation and feels great for now.

    Considering buying this for my Mrs, my only concern is the single motor. What's its performance up hills, she's not bothered if the speed drops as long as it makes it up hills. She's currently running a Segway ninebot and that has no issues. Cheers

    Thank you for your video, but after I watched it... I was like Duuuude...
    I'm not sure you can find a better scooter that has :
    1. front AND rear suspension with pretty good absorption and amplitude, even similar with high-performance scooters
    2. front AND rear drum brakes ("disk brakes would've been better" - really...?? disk brakes - lose their efficiency if it's water, pads wear out much faster, including due to dirt or sand, disc brakes often bend against the curb, especially if children use). There are a lot of them that have only the front or only rear drum brakes, but I wouldn't let my kid ride it, cause on wet asphalt it's dangerous. You gonna change brakes pads 5 times often on disk brakes.
    3. there are turn signals - both front and rear. And actually, if they make an acceleration button for the thumb but not for a finder, how will you drive and press the turn indicator simultaneously?
    4. A plastic cap that protects charger ports - it's a smart solution, cause some scooters have threaded metal caps, and sometimes when closing, users can short-circuit the contacts and burn the controller.
    5. 80% of flat tires happen on a rear one, that's why here it's a solid one.
    6. Hills climbing - very true - but most of one motor scooter loses 50% of its speed. The dual-motor makes it's more expensive and heavier.
    So, all in all, it's a very well-balanced model, moreover with the price of $1000.
    What I can agree with, it's:
    1) Front light needs an upgrade
    2) Replace color LCD display with old-school monochrome instead
    There are models on the market that in my opinion can technically compete with VSETT8 - it's INOKIM Quick4, Dualtron Mini, and Speedway Mini 4 Pro, but they have flaws compared to VSETT8
    QUICK4:
    1) - with the same battery it's 2.5kg heavier than VSETT8
    2) - has a pneumatic rear tire
    3) - The Price - $1900
    + pros: it has a better foldable bars mechanism
    Dualtron Mini:
    1) - has unfoldable bars (more difficult to get into the bus/train - and it's important because it's a commuter scooter)
    2) - no turn indicators
    3) - The Price - $1500
    + pros: better suspension
    Speedway Mini 4 Pro:
    1) - Has only rear drum brake
    2) - front suspension is less efficient
    + pros: it's lighter (36 lbs/16kg)
    I would be glad If you could point me to another brand that's packed/balanced so well under $1000.
    Peace

    • @no1up
      @no1up  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It comes down to weight really. If you're 200+ I'd say about 23-25mph.
      My daughter could probably hit around 29-30mph.

    That is my first El.scuter and for the 900€ and limit in EU 25km/h I booth VSETT8 and its super for riding and bad road and litle hols. And 45km/h doesn't seems so fast when coops are riding in car :))) so I made limiter at 25km and after one tuch I'm 30+ and that is beeg diference. And brakes I don't understand I will try to update to MTB Shimano XT brakes and they are 250€ and its breaking with one finger. Not with whole hand. That is it ewry other thing I like and I think that for that price it is best bang for bucks. I pay it litle less at black Friday for 200€ off 800€ and I need some helmet and on buke i don't like Ful face but on skuter ewry one are foling to the nose first so I'm on the fance. With helmet.
