      "Who they are". She was talking about the boy and his family that owned the boat. Her son didn't do anything. People on the internet were tearing that family down even tho' the parents had nothing to do with what happened, And teenagers do some really dumb things sometimes to show off in front of friends, and that is exactly why there are age limits.
      This would have all gone much better for them if the boys had just come out to the media and said what they did was dumb and that they were sorry.

      The way your child behaves the moment they are out of "mommy & daddy's" sight is the definition of who they are. Children lead two very different lives, the one at home with the squeaky clean personality they show their parents, and the more real personality they show there friends. This kids "real personality" was an asshole who throws trash in the ocean. His parents failed, and never even knew there son.
      I think one measure of a good parent is how well they manage to intermesh the two personalities kids have, ideally so that there is only one, so that kids don't need to put on a front at home, but also aren't a total asshole.

    calling a 6 feet 2inches tall teenager who was getting drunk on a boat with his friends a "child" is stretching it quite a bit but those parents would do anything to get their son off the hook. As part of their punishment they should be made to spend a few weeks on the beach..cleaning up the washed up trash.

    • @captainstefanie
      @captainstefanie 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      There’s no defense for what this guy did but just because he’s tall doesn’t mean his brain is fully developed. My 16 year old nephew is 6’2” and very smart, but he’s smart for 16. If my nephew didn’t have the upbringing that he’s had, he could have easily done something like this, not because he’s a tall teenager, but because his parents didn’t raise him correctly.

    • @MFINS1384
      @MFINS1384 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      That is exactly what will happen and its a joke.. Every coastal county here in Fla has a community service program which involves picking up trash from the beach. Especially for littering cases. The supervisor tells you to you to walk down the beach pick up trash and come back in 4 hours. The kids just go to a trash can on the beach fill up there bag and then lay out on the beach for four hours.. It really accomplishes nothing. It's not punishment. A better idea is to take away the kids phone and social media for a year. For today's teens that would be torture.

      Never talk to the police without a lawyer even as a witness only!!! I was just a "witness" once and the day after I made a statement about what I saw they returned and arrested me!!! Because I told them I ate at the Burger King before going to the store where I saw the person that robbed the store and ran out past me. Well the cop said when he questioned the suspect when they caught him he said he ate at Burger King after the robbery and then went home where they arrested him hours later.
      So the cop heard us both mention Burger King he went and looked at the tapes and when I walked in I didn't get right in line I went into the bathroom first than got in line to order , that was the same thing the criminal did and he knows I handed him off something I hid in the bathroom, I was like I have no fucking idea what you are talking about. Well it was enough for them to get a arrest warrant and then make up this whole story about how I was part of the whole robbery because I went to the bathroom before getting in line first , I had to get a lawyer and the case dragged on for over 4 years all because I talked to the police as a witness 😊
