Good job you guys! Planning on doing my first spartan race either at the end of this month or June 1st, currently in the police academy so I feel like I have enough cardio and strength for this, I’m excited for it
As you know, Tough Mudder is not timed and is more teamwork based. They also do a great job of focusing on fears with some obstacles. Typically there will be more mud at a Tough Mudder. Spartan is timed and can be pretty competitive. If you run open, you'll still find a lot of people helping each other. There's more strength based obstacles as well, such as the Hercules Hoist, Atlas Carry, Sandbag and Bucket carries, etc. Personally, both are great races and offer a fairly unique experience. Some people find they prefer the style or atmosphere of one over the other. And some of us are just happy to be outside doing obstacles either way. :)
Best of luck to you! We have a ton of recommendations but any trail shoe will be great, mud is impossible to avoid at most races, so we hope this helps!
Aggressive thread but not boots. Honestly, I've run in general running shoes too. You'll be fine either way. If it's muddy, it's muddy. The grip on some shoes can help gain purchase on some walls. Unless you're elite, just have fun. Know that whatever you wear, it's never gonna be the same color. Hose it off as well as you can and call it good
Awesome video. You guys flew by everything. Thanks for sharing.

That is amazing:) We are rooting you on!❤️
The arms swinging in front is giving first person shooter vibes circa early 2000’s
Throwbacks! Should we use this setup more?
So I just did the Tough Mudder in Colorado Springs. How much harder/different is the Spartan? I'd love to give it a try next year.

I'm doing the one in Colorado Springs in June. What shoes do you all recommend to deal with the mud?
