I liked the Smash Bros mix of the song but it feels like it lacks the instrumental power of the original song. The vocals are great though so why not both?

This is truly wonderful! The drums and harmonics of the original combined with the strings and vocals of the remix make this the ultimate rendition of Lament of Innocence's main theme!

I was about to say - having the male vocals(near the end of the original) and the female vocals(in the Smash mix) together does wonders for symbolizing the bond between Leon and Sara.
