It also makes the most sense, when you think about it. "AN image beneath me" seems kind of random. And while "No revenge beneath me" DOES make sense (and is actually a pretty badass sounding lyric honestly) it doesn't fit the context or the vibe of the rest of the lyrics. So....mystery solved! Yay!
RIP Vinnie and Dimebag Cemetery gates really is a masterpiece of a song, and the first electric guitar riff is soo tasty. Even to this day I still consider this one of the greatest ballads in metal. And that intro is amazing tribute.
This songs speaks to me in many ways esp the moment i heard it for the first time......playing the acoustic part of this song or the lead that always takes me to a whole other world its like my hands move by themselves when im playing, songs lyrics speak to me on some personal level on problems i still cant get over so whenever i hear the lyrics they jus resonate with things going on in my life......thank you for covering this Varvis been enjoying ur content for a while much love
Another incredible Varvis product! Hell yeah! Something I always heard in that intro was a lot of Alex Lifeson Influence too, Vinnie Paul said in an interview about being a huge Rush fan and I wonder if Dime was too? The way the guitars roll along on those 2 open strings during the chord changes is such a magical sound no matter who's playing it! Cheers man!
OMG YES THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAVE BEEN ASKING AND YOU DELIVERED I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. YOU SIAD YOU WOULD AND YOU DID. BEEN SO EXITED FOR A PANTERA VIDEO I LITTERALY CANT WAIT TO HAVE THIS IMBEDDED IN MY MIND. Love you bro keep making awesome content.
Subscribed. I played this tune a bunch back in the ‘90’s and recently decided to pull it back into my rotation. This breakdown gave me a whole new excitement to pick it back up! Killer work, great appreciation!!!
I just learned after decades of listening to this song that he wasn’t saying “Red Rum Red Rum” at the beginning. Lol no I never bothered to look up the lyrics
I always thought he said, “the ledge beneath me”. Seems right in context. It seems like he’s adding an e (le-edge) to convey an overwhelming emotion. I got the CD the day it was released. Ledge sticks with me…. IMO
My favorite Pantera Song
Found u >:3

The fastest 43 minutes I've ever sat through. You have no idea how much I love this band. Keep it coming.

Favorite metal song of all time.
Beautiful yet aggressive
One of the best metal ballads of all time alongside The Ballad by Testament
Such a beautiful, sad, sorrowful song. In my opinion the greatest song they ever wrote.
Ballads always makes the heavy songs sound even heavier!
