I am on my second pair of salomon boots that look extremely similar to those featured. I am a 67 and reasonably fit and active fellow and
find the boots as you describe, hence buying them again. The lace system is very functional and works well..........so that is what the
tongue pocket is for :) Bearing in mind their build quality and comfort and the time i actually wear them i find them good value. Looking
after your feet is paramount as you point out. I am generally quite carefull (some would say tight) with my money, these boots do
represent good all round value. I have just become aware of your channel, enjoy the no nonsense style of your content, crack on and
best wishes. Mike in County Durham

Great review Sir! I have several pair of Salomon Forces boots and have worn them for work, travel, and on my Harley. They've been incredibly comfortable regardless of where I've worn them. On top of that they look good with a pair of jeans or casual pants. Based on your review, I'm going to seriously look into a pair of the Speed Assault 2s. You answered one of the key questions I had regarding how "grippy" they are on hard surfaces. I'm a little torn between getting the Gore-Tex or non-Gore-Tex versions; I'm leaning toward the version you reviewed because I live in North Texas and it gets just a tad warm here in the summer. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Like a higher version of the Speedcross. It’s great that they do them in UK military brown to match MTP.

Are you part of the forces and do you use them?

I agree, the Speed Assault is a very nice shoe. I have not tried the Speed Assault II, but the it seems very similar to the previous model, which I have used a lot. I have worn out two pairs and I really put the through some tough miles. After about 500 km the bottom of the soles starts to be almost smooth because the pattern is worn down. What puts an end to the shoes is that the semi-stiff part of the top at the angle gets a bit mushy and the inner fabric wears out so that there are holes. But this takes hundreds of kilometers.
In my experience they don’t dry up as fast as you would expect, but of course much faster than anything insulated, or boots made of leather.

I have my eye on a pair of Lowa boots. For Lofoten. Maybe I should get these in stead 🤔. My foot is the opposite of wide though... What is the story with the hat? 🙂 🐶♥️

@@thatgearguy I plan to go next summer, late July. Average temperature will be 11-13 degrees. Neither hot nor cold. So, not sure which will be best...

@@piakiby1566 I would try both on. Fit and feel is the most important factor with footwear. An uncomfortable shoe is always worse no matter what its performance benefits.

i am so struggling between next Gen of speed assault and xa pro 3d v9.
could you recommend what’s the better one? i had experience with conta grip of speed line and it’s damaging so fast. but it’s light compared more than any lines in salomon shoes.

Just bought it from US Elite Force gear for 119.99 but got a 10% off first 🕐 buyer. So got it for $108 and on a no interest 4 🕐 payment so that's $27. Of course free shipment. I will use it 4 outdoor airsoft field. PEW PEW 6MM BB power. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Unfortunately Solomon shoes are all made for people with feet in the shape of bullet heads. Can't understand how they make their toebox areas so damn narrow. My toes are always absolutely squashed together whenever I try Solomon shoes on

A lot of models are available in wide toebox variants. Sadly the quality of Salomon boots and shoes went downhill a lot. I've got sent 3 different pairs. All of them had the top material glued together skewed. As soon as you put your foot in, you have massive creases that will rip the top material of after a very short amount of time (I'm talking 2-3 days). In the end I went back to Haix, AKU and Lowa. I had some problems with Haix Goretex shoes/boots, but they have a very good and quick customer service.
