Yeps .. cool little piece for quarantine and "use what you have". I always loved this attitude. Nowadays it becomes even worthier. Ouch .. that paint bottle accident. I'm still waiting for the day when this happens to me. ;)
My first thought when seeing this was that it could make for a really cool Space Hulk interior for Warhammer Killteam. With a lot of foam board and recycled food boxes you could fill a 3x3 square with some neat rooms and corridors.
I know the situation is not a good one but I love how you manage to use it to stretch the limits of the more simple material. These are some of the most creative and valuable videos.
I am loving the cyberpunk / sci-fi builds! It's a welcomed change from the glut of medieval fantasy resources that are out there. I also dig the grim dark aesthetic that many of your builds possess. Seriously, good stuff!
I am very tempted to scale this up and use it in a Transformers display. The right paint can set it in ether factions base or toss in some wreckage and its the back drop of an alley on Cybertron.
Fun follow-up: if you're cladding the open foam edges, you can use almost anything you'd like as a middle layer. -cut out the middle for just a freestanding door frame -vertical or horizontal styrene rods for iron or 'laser' barring -wall repair tape or otherwise for a metal grid door -tinted transparent plastic for a force field
I tried your plastic bag video from a few weeks ago with a tree for terrain it worked really well and I’m in the process of making a full ghost Forrest. Thank you for what you do man keep your family safe.
There's not enough of sci-fi or sci-fantasy build videos out there, considering high-fantasy is so popular Absolutely love this, as well as all your other builds (got hooked with that dollar store dragon). Keep it up! :D
I've just discovered this hobby and trying to buy material as i'm building. Thanks for the tips and tricks, garbage is my new friend :) one thing i would change: the lights are green while the door is closed, i would make them red. I would also love to see a real functioning door like this with mini LED's and opening doors. Not sure if it can be done in such a smale scale though. Keep on building!
I love seeing how you are using junk in your projects. Any ideas on how to use the sprues for a fantasy setting? Also, what about that foam used to pack things like EPS? I have a ton of EPS but am not sure the best way to use it. Thanks Jeremy!
Dude, I come here for inspiration while I'm painting minis and I stay for the expert, down to earth, common sense and fun presentation. Gotta make more terrain!
Thanks.. another cool project to add to my list. I think I will get out my sketchbook and design a few walls to go with the door, so I have something to work from. Keep safe, keep busy!
Oh boy, I really love the look of this door! This is perfect as my group recently took a break from 5e to try starfinder, and now I have all quarantine to build up my sci-fi terrain! Love the video and thank you so much for keeping us entertained as we really do need it now more than ever!

As an American I Love the fact that you're Canadian and casually always have waffle and pancake boxes laying around lol. But this is seriously awesome dude
This sort of thing would work really well with larger homemade terrain pieces that have one or more flat sides. Either bare walls or ones with fully 2D decorations (like posters made from printed out images glued to it, or patches of graffiti). These patches can then be covered by a free-standing door, or by any number of other modular terrain pieces. Options include staircases, ladders, ramps, stacked crates or barrels, computer terminals, parked vehicles, etc.
I actually really liked the look of it before you painted it. Gave it a more cobbled together look like something you'd see in a smuggler den or somewhere where they couldn't just buy a door outright, but had to build one out of scraps.
If there is any way you could revisit those little beauties, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Stuff like that is what makes tables come to life. Love the door too period, would like more builds like this as well. A green stuff tutorial would be really cool
Awesome! :O love the lights! It would be even awesome if they opened! I guess you can leave the middle foamboard layer smaller and not glued, so that it slides up!
Great build, I love the glowy lights. But hey, Jeremy, you got a 3d printer, copy the door in your CAD software and print it out. Make it thin so you can stick two; back to back. It could be as detailled as your printer can do, and would magnificient painted up.
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial I get you. I don't have a 3D printer and I've been cutting my teeth with many of your projects, using the trusty hot wire cutter etc. I just thought it would be a cool little indulgence to make one in 3D. Making rough shape is not a problem, but im struggling with making small details, like face hair and so on.
