I recently purchased a Merkur Futur, after watching your great shaving videos. To me this razor comes very close to a "Straight Edge Razor" with a safety cage. I dearly love this razor, becuause it provides the closest shaves I had yet. Great product and thank you for all your videos here. Cheers, Peter
I too love the Futur. It bothers me that so many criticize it. It is overly aggressive. You sir are a show off for using it on 6 but it is your blood. Have a great day all.
Nicely done Paul💈💈 Took no prisoners in this one, Futur slayed them all. I like the scent of sweet flowers but don't like it on my face...weird. Wonderful display today, thanks Mrs H. SOTD: TOBS "Grapefruit" cream, Merkur 34C razor w/Personna Lab Blue blade, Fine synth brush, alum, witch hazel, Myrsol "Plastic" splash and Myrsol "Emulsion" to end...Super. Have a great week ahead.
I got started with lavender with Yardley bathsoap. The haircut looks good, going back to work after a 4 day holiday in Boulder Colorado. Thanks for the lovely holiday video, I saw it pop it on notifications, so I hope this shave talks about it. I just got back to this video. Very faithful razor, I agree almost ant blade. My favorite razor too, I have a great Van Der Hagen copy.Anyway, hope your hand heals too, looking forward to Wales video. Starting to love high end shave soaps more. Btw, I dedicate a big part of my holiday to you/shaving I will try to show a video on the Facebook page. I asked the owner of a shave shop in Denver if he knows you, I got him watching, nice clips of his inventory, Butter and toast....do love that razor Paul. Great shave and flowers make it better, thanks too your wifey for her flowers in your bathroom.
Wonderful shave as always Paul. For my shave today I'm going with a rose theme. Rose shaving soap, Muhle R41 with the Rose gold handle, Rose EDP fragrance and Rose dusting powder. For the meal of the day for Mrs. and myself, It will be BBQ Brisket, Double baked potatoes cooked on the smoker, Chili beans and Cole slaw.
Good morning paul and mrs h. Lovely flowers this morning. Up early here having my coffee about to leave for work. Great shave you had. I havr that razor on my list to get. My own sotd was a nice work day one. My 56 superspeed with a derby blade. And proraso red soap, splash, and matching balm. Great sandalwood scent. Have a great rest of the wknd
Enjoy your videos. I’ve been preferring milder razors lately. I love the brush! That has become my favorite knot. I have that type of knot on several brushes. Enjoy your Sunday.
Good morning Paul another great shave my friend. As I've gotten older I've started enjoying the floral scents more myself. You've inspired me to have a lavender shave today for my Sunday shave 🪒. Razor is my Edwin Jagger D89 with a Gillette 7 o'clock second use. Macduff Dark Sky Reserve soap and splash. My brush is going to be your new one 😊. Today is mother's Day here and my daughter has invited us all to her house for a fancy brunch. Please let Mrs H know her arrangements is beautiful. Take care
Just away, going to shave later. Not sure what I packed to be honest. Love the channel very calming on a Sunday. Great channel, love the flowers and love lavender. Stay well
I like the matte finish version of the Futur. It looks kind of like what Buck Rodgers of the 23rd Century would shave with. On the gentlest setting, I like the shave results of the Futur more than all my other razors.
Good shave Paul. My shave of the day: Muhle R41 Twist safety razor, Feather DE Blade, Chisel & Hound V22 shaving brush, A&E Cherry Cola shave soap, 2 passes and a few pick-ups, Thayers Lavender witch hazel, Hugo Boss After Shave, Finished it off with Stirling Sharp Dressed Man After shave balm.
Nice shave Paul. I crossed that bridge May 2022 and it was one lane then. Yes it was Telfords bridge. Lovely part of the world. You said you had lavender in your garden and you used a spoon to get some out hard work. Regards to you both Keep well and keep safe.
Paul if you have an air fryer, do your new potatoes in that, coat them with a little oil, salt and pepper and the secret ingredient.......dry stuffing mix, 20 mins at 180, give them a shake followed by another 20 mins, I promise you it's a game changer 👍.........oh yeah, great shave as usual lol
Good morning Paul, wonderful flowers by MrsH as ever! Great looking shave to. My SOTD will be Merkur 34c Treet platinum blade Lea menthol shave cream, TOBS badger brush, Glacial menthol aftershave and Nivea fresh kick balm. MOTD will be Belly Pork slices, potato wedges and baked beans, enjoy your day my friends all the best 👍🏻
Nice haircut Paul, I noticed it before you mentioned it, it looks good. While I am not a fan of floral scents, Lavender does smell nice in weak strength, but if the scent is overpoweringly strong, I can't do it lol. Yeah Paul, why do you hate your hand, what did it do to you? HAHA! I know that Futur can really sing you a tune called Whisker Weight Reduction. I love it when you talk about your dad, its clear that you really loved him and miss him. One of these days you need to do a pick up time neck brace one where your father speaks to you from above, that would be an interesting one hehe.
SOTD will be tomorrow and I will be using Caswell/Massey Newport shave cream, lavender WH, Newport aftershave, Nivea post shave balm. MOTD? It’s Mother’s Day here in the states. Whatever Her Ladyship wants!😂
Hi Paul, greetings from Texas! Beautiful flowers from Mrs H! I've used my Merkur Futur for my last few shaves. Certainly gives a close shave once you find the correct setting and blade combination. That's true of all adjustables though, isn't it?
Kind of coincidental that you are using the Futur cause I just scored a Vision off eBay. Think I did ok at 80 USD. My question, Paul, got any pointers or advice for using it? I’m kinda intimidated. You’re also the only TH-cam shaver I know that uses it kind of regularly. Cheers Paul.
That’s a good deal, the Vision is like the daddy of the Futur, I would say always good prep, pre shave etc, use a blade you know well that works for you, and gently guide the razor lightly as you shave, it can feel like shaving with just the blade lol. But careful light touch should let you find what is comfortable for you. Good luck with it 🪒💈👍
@@PaulHFilms hey Paul, thanks for the advice. I definitely took it. Finally gave the Vision a go. Firstly, it would seem every adjustment dial is calibrated differently. Between yours, seen Kevy use it and mine, I couldn’t tell you what’s least and most aggressive. As far as software, I broke out the PAA for this. The cube as a pre shave, Dixie as my soap and aftershave. A Wilkinson sword as my blade and the gentlest of gentle hands holding the meat slicer. I had it set somewhere in the middle and it definitely still felt extremely aggressive. A few weepers but not much blood loss, surprisingly. Cheers Paul’s and thanks again.
Great shave Paul 💈 Gavin loves his Merkur Futur too. Gorgeous flowers Mrs H 💐 Hope you're both having a great week 💈💐💈

I'm 76 now and lavender aways reminds me of my grandmother
Great channel

Nice shave. Hot weather is a great time for a cold water shave. Have a great Sunday. 👍
Tell MRS H happy Mother day 💐 in the U.S.A. and thank you

Thank you for sharing that, we have had an air fryer for several months and not yet used it. So will try that, sounds delicious 😋

Good morning to You Paul, and too MrsH for the flowers ❤🎉🎉🎉.
God morning Paul very nice shave and beautiful flowers from Lowri!
Have a great Sunday!
Happy Sunday Paul 🎉🎉
Good tip on using the eye corner for soap storage.
I usually use my nostrils and ears but some extra can't hurt!
😂
Happy Sunday Paul. ❤

Thank you, yes very true of most adjustable razors that. All the best 👍
Good morning Mr Gales🎉❤
Would you mind the take a shave with merkure future clone which is you did a review for it qshave?
when u get cut from shaveing u don't put Alum block or styptic pencil on to help stop the bleeding
It depends how bad the cut is really if I use it or not.
That brush - not sure if you discussed it, but how is the performance? Stiffness, softness?
Very soft tips, but has a good backbone to it, so it can take good pressure when lathering.

I want toast now, I'll have a shave instead.
