Sultanpur Lodhi is a city and a Municipal Council in Kapurthala district in the Indian state of Punjab. The town is named after its founder, Sultan Khan Lodhi, who was a general of Mahmud of Ghazni in 1103 AD, which has been also mentioned in Ain-e-Akbari. Sultanpur Lodhi is located on the south bank of a seasonal rivulet called Kali Bein, which runs 6 miles (9.7 km) north of the intersection of Beas and Sutlej Rivers, two of the Five Rivers of #Punjab. The word Punj - ab, literally means five river - land.

Very good video brother. Small interview of a local guy about his city, would have made it little better.
Hello there, my father and grand parents migrated from Sultanpur Lodhi in 1947 to Pakistan. My grandfather used to work in civil hospital and other elders were involved in land management offices (Kanoo-go, Tehsildar, etc). My grandfather always told stories about spending time at "baeen" and fishing there. My grandfather always wanted to go back and visit Sultanpur but couldn't and he passed away. My father was about 10 years old at the time of migration and still have very vivid memories of Sultanpur leading up to the day of migration. He tells us the their 'haveli' was in Muhallah Khaleefeyaan. It was near the road from railway station coming into the inner town. There was a sabzi mandi near by as well. He's still alive and lives here with us in USA. He wants to visit Sultanpur as well however due to age probably can't.
I will show this video to him. However I wanted to request if you (owner of Visit Punjab channel) or anyone else living in Sultanpur can share a video of that muhallah and near by streets? I am sure my father will be extremely happy and thankful for that.
Hello there, were you be able to visit Sultanpur Lodhi and upload videos of the muhallahs I had requested?
