Thank you for your work here. Today being the 25/3/30, the world is on tilt & the Korg SV2S I ordered is still months away and now, cannot be assured of the original price due to the currency fall out. So, I rang my local supplier and confirmed they had SV2 88 key units in stock and changed my order to that. I wanted the speaker version purely for the convenience but at the end of the day, I own amps & all the accessories so its no deal breaker. I pick up my new SV2 this weekend, just in time before the music stores are told to close up and we all prepare for Winter. Everybody stay calm, remember there are always people worse off, keep your head & keep your hygiene routine front of mind all the time. Peace and Love from Sydney, Australia.
I too, wanted the SV2S (with speakers) to do my review on, but they didn't have a SV2S review unit, just the SV2 (no speakers). I was given the option to wait for a speaker unit for my review, or take the SV2 for my review. I'm glad I took the SV2 because now they're not sending out review units for a while (until the world is back to normal). I hope to have a review up soon. Enjoy your SV2 - its one heck of a board, and I'll be sad when I have to give the review unit back :(
Thank you so much for taking the time to record all of the demos - it sounds great. Can't wait to hear the SV-2 in person once it reaches the UK shores (COVID-19 permitting!).
The MK I and MK II sounds seem really good. The pianos do too and the organ tones, even though there are just a few, sound like they’re the most commonly useful. I love the panel layout too. If I was in for a stage piano, I’d probably be strongly considering this one along with the Crumar Seven.
Where is the oberheim synth sound? That was one of the best tones on the SV1 and they omitted it for toy sounds that no one will ever use? Is there a way to import the sv1 sounds?
Nice sounds, but can they be layered and overlap? For instance can "Vox Organ" be layered "Rock organ" (as an example) and do the different banks ... can one sound in one bank be used with another sound in another bank? (The sounds are nicely straightforward, but the selection seems rather limited to me, in that general price range.)
how do the speakers sound? Does it make it truly an authentic musical instrument to bring to a an acoustic guitar jam? the P515 sounds amazing. How does it compare?
5:55 Any thoughts on the "Wurly Classic" voice having "Wurly Mic L" as it's main program, and not having the "Wurly Classic"? Whenever I end up on it, it sounds so quiet by comparison (on the actual instrument; sounds fine in the video). Wondering if it was in error - but it drives me nuts since it can't be fixed since it's a factory sound.
Some questions that I have: 1- Does it have smooth sounds transitions?. 2- Is the volume level matched between sound voices?. The previous SV1 didn't have SST, and the were annoying and unnaceptable volume differences between sounds. Some of them twice as loud as others.
I didn't play anything - this is the built-in factory demo as per the title. That being said, perhaps the video that demo'd the built-in sounds for the SV-1 is where you may have heard a similar sound: th-cam.com/video/EjUkaYqIFHo/w-d-xo.html
The EP's on this don't have the same 'bite' as those on the SV1- I doubt if many of them would cut through a live mix - they sound mellow and top heavy with effects - the Hohner pianet 'N' was one of the most biting- bright and cutting instruments ever made - it had beautiful tone too - the Korg Hohner Pisnet 'N' doesn't reflect the true sound of the instrument - the acoustic pianos on the SV2, however, sound much better than those on the SV1
Good question! Underneath those two buttons is the word DEMO (you can see that better around 38:00 into the video). When those two buttons are pressed together, it puts the unit in DEMO mode. When the two indicators for those buttons are flashing it means the unit is in demo mode.
@@PianoManChuck oh shoot....now I get it...demo goes on automatically with a player....smart feature but owners likely don’t use it......but thanks AGAIN :)
I am a bit confused by this product. I was looking at the manual and it seems to me that there are more sounds only accessible from the editor app. Is this correct?
Totale agree with you. It s even weird because they have pretty descent one in the micro Korg mx 2. With that sweet cheap tape feeling (warm, noisy, and a little bit detune) Bad English , I m French
To purchase the Korg SV-2 on Amazon, please help me out by using this link (I get partial credit for the sale):

This is the video I was hoping someone would make! Thank very much for taking the time to make it!
At 23:15, this sound is so wow ...!!! That's beautiful ! 😍
Currently saving up for one of these beauties. Having heard this demo I want one even more !!

I fell in love with this piano once these demos were released.
Thank you Chuck, exactly what I needed! Great playing all around!
Excellant travail, merci beaucoup pour cette démo de référence. "Good Job"
I am patiently waiting for mine to arrive.
Awseome video.
Thank you for this amazing demo! 🙌🏻
Thank you so much for making this video. After listening, I'm sure that this is going to be my next keyboard purchase.
Good choice!
Jeez those Dyno models really capture the vibe. Chuck Monte would be proud.
Absolutely love your playing in this demo!
All I did was push a button to start the built-in factory demo (as the title states).

To me, korg is way more versatile than crumar 7, AND has beautiful piano sounds.
@@tomislavrac717 you dont get a 7 for versatility, you get it for feel and sound.
Awesome demonstration and excellent playing. Thanks!
Thanks, but as stated - its a "factory demo" (meaning its built-in). I had nothing to do with it other than pushing the button that starts the demo :)
Thanks Chuck.
Thanks Chuck sounding good.
sounds fantastic
Ultra High Quality Sounds
I love this thing ❤
Great demo Thanks Chuck
Thank you very much !
Thanks PianoMan
Amazing Job mate, this is he video to come for doubts and research for good korg sv2 material
You are the best!!!
Great "review"!
The Japanese and German uprights have a sound that makes me feel like I want to play music from the Beatles, Coldplay, or any modern pop band
Thank you so much for that !!
Thanks
Well done....no one usually shows the dashboard so we know what sound is playing.....
Thanks!
Hey, very seriously looking at this board. Have loved your videos! Any chance you’ll be running through the additional sounds in the editor?
Unfortunately no. Like most boards, I only have them long enough to review it.
The German classic is the same demo of Pa900 grand piano and the German mini is the demo of the PA4x grand piano voice :O.
Do you mean German Mono?
Great! Thanks!
Where is the oberheim synth sound? That was one of the best tones on the SV1 and they omitted it for toy sounds that no one will ever use? Is there a way to import the sv1 sounds?
Welcome back SG-1D and M1
The M1 piano is a staple with Latin bands and electronic dance music artists
"Piziccato & Glock" at 38:31 missing in the list (in "*** OTHER-BANK B ***")
Thanks Pavel - not sure how that slipped but its fixed now. Thanks again!!
❤❤❤❤

At 6:31 for the wurly bright, what song is that lick from?
Good question - if you find out, let me know!
FM & Pad is a bit identical to that of Versace on the Floor.
And a doubt: can you make the wurly sound more punchier as it was on the korg sv1? Because maybe its deeper now but it was louder before

Posting your question in the SV2 forum over at korgforums.com would be your best bet.
Some questions that I have: 1- Does it have smooth sounds transitions?. 2- Is the volume level matched between sound voices?. The previous SV1 didn't have SST, and the were annoying and unnaceptable volume differences between sounds. Some of them twice as loud as others.
The answer to both of your questions is no.
According to the KORG SV-2 Manual it does offer SST! However, SST is not working when the amp section is on.
@@efraimschonek7206 yes, that's normal. If You think.. amp section enhances the sound. (Amplifies).
Wow great demo. How is the Austrian in person?
7:13 Sounds a Parody of the song of Chicago: Hard Habit to Break
Yeah that's what I was thinking too
How does one choose between the SV-2 or the Grandstage? They seem to have so much in common.
25:00 - used by video games too.
Dyno EP+FM EP2= Whitney Houston's EP sound
What is the “Dyno EP” a sample of?
The Digi piano sounds like a Roland RD 1000
dyno bright is a bit kind of Jeff Lorber style lol
I hear Yellowjackets "Top Secret" chord changes and similar solo!
I find it weird that the organ sounds are just filed under clavs.
Korg Grandstage or SV2? Mostly will be used for live settings (church)
we are trying to decide between these two along with the yamaha cp88 and nord piano 4... have you made it decisions?
Where have I heard the song you played when testing Hybrid Tine before?

This activates the DEMO that you JUST HEARD in this video!

What piano is the German Grand? A Steinway?
Obviously a Steinway by the description

Not quite... I'll have a full review coming soon which will clear up a lot of questions.
Do both SV1&2 use the same key bed?
P I yes, same old rh3 action. Not the best, but not the worst.
Everything sounds decent except for the "tape strings". WTF? Not even close.
Totale agree with you. It s even weird because they have pretty descent one in the micro Korg mx 2. With that sweet cheap tape feeling (warm, noisy, and a little bit detune)

Nice sounds but still behind nord electro and way behind stage...
yeah but nord cost quite a bit more also... rather have a nord electro though so i guess your right..lol
Definitely not way behind Nord. I‘m a Nord player since many years...
... (Stage and Electro), and i must say, this new SV-2 sounds absolutely great.
Canal do OTA I’ve A Bentley in the car rides better than a Mercedes but the Mercedes still rides great lol
Canal do OTA and on the Nord keybed suck and for that kind money keybed should than what it is lol
