Hi everyone, thanks for watching! In this fall protection video we had a ton of fun demonstrating how fall protection equipment works with the team at Malta Dynamics. I'd like to give a shoutout to Alex and the rest of the crew at Malta for letting us put their fall protection equipment to the test!
you are the best! wow! your video demonstration made other videos useless. I hate when guys sitting in the comfort of the chair and explaining on powerpoint. You immediately earned a subscriber for you and your team's efforts in demonstrating us.
Thank you so much for your videos. You have made a really good job put the safety topics in a simple way to understand, keeping the importance they have, that I am using for learning or refreshing knowledge because I will have a job interview for a HSE position. They have been really useful, and you have the real charisma that make me be focus in your explanations.
Thank you for this very well done instructional video. I present this to my juniors and seniors in our basic construction class and they actually pay attention! 😀
I really loved this video, its just a few seconds to made clear description of Fall Arrestor and Fall Restraint. Waiting for more safety videos// Best of luck @ALLY
Thanks for the information provided, I would like to please make a video related to the checklist of the equipment or fall protection system. Thanks a lot
Hey Rachel, thank you as always for sharing your insight and the fall prevention is definitely helpful. I was wondering if you have had any time to check out the mask bracket yet?
@@AllySafety thanks for letting me know and I completely understand with being busy. I hope I wasn't pressuring you about it and it definitely has a good usage 👍. I'll message you more about it if that's okay.
Because of a spelling error! It actually says Caribbeaners as in people who live in the Caribbean which we were told can be offensive so we just blurred it because you can't re-upload a TH-cam video.
I'm a climber so not really the target demographic, but. I'm really confused about why the "lanyard" is static. Like it feels super odd to me. I guess because it is pretty low falls with a fair bit of slack and you could get a ground fall if it was dynamic?
@@AllySafety We're talking about the steel cable used. Steel cables have essentialy no stretch, which seems like it would be a lot more dangerous to use than a rope with some stretch to it, since with a more stretchy rope, the work done by the rope is spread over a much longer distance, making the forces involved much smaller, by as much as as an order of magnitude in some cases. "Static" and "dynamic" in this context just refer to different kinds of rope, static rope has no stretch while dynamic rope can stretch quite a bit.
Oh this is so interesting. There are cases where fabric or rope lanyards are used but we generally want to minimize stretch. The self-retracting lanyards I’m using have mechanisms to prevent jarring but since they also stop extending similar to a seat belt if the cable extends fast like in the case of a fall. That way you have less distance you can fall in the first place.
Okay ^-^ That feels reasonable. Climbers generally take MUCH bigger falls I assume. Like 3m is very normal and more is not uncommon. When you reach those fall distances stretch is pretty necessary to not get hurt. And you are more worried about not hitting the ground, especially if you fell at an odd angle.
I once heard of a story where some military guys were in Iraq working on a structure with locals. They had given a local a safety harness and line. A bit later they looked at the set up and one of them said to the other, what is wrong with this picture? The local had attached the line near ground level and then climbed up to work several stories above.
Wait, so 54% had no access to fall arrest equipment and 23% had access but didn't use it. That only adds up to 77%. How did the remaining 23% of all fatal workplace happen while using fall arrest equipment?
They didn't give a lot of info on those but I'm guessing it's a mix. There are cases each year where people are wearing fall protection incorrectly like they when they haven't calculated the fall distance and their lanyard is too long so they still hit the ground. It'd be interesting to see what the breakdown of those cases is and maybe do a video on it at some point.
Yeah, there was a spelling error and we didn’t want to offend anyone by how bad our spelling is or by accidentally using something close to an offensive term.
you should show the difference between a man's fall arrest harness and a woman's fall arrest harness. Strap placement is different and falling in one as a woman is not as painful as falling in the man's. Fallen in both, major difference.
I like this idea. I’ve actually been asking around to different manufacturers about why some don’t make women’s harnesses and it seems there isn’t enough demand but maybe that’s partly due to a lack of awareness
Nicely produced video. The harnesses used in this video are miserably uncomfortable as the pads that go over your shoulders will dig into your neck making long days wearing this terribly designed harness miserable. Buy a Yates if your a professional. Buy a joke if your a part timer.

liked you and your video
Why was Carabiners blurred out? (3:05)
“We’re going to make sure he gets any care he needs….” Then he’s getting drug tested and laid off.
This video does not have enough likes for how great it is!! Nice job explaining the ABCD's of Fall Protection!!
Thank you so much!
This is very very well done. I love that you included the ABCD's (instead of just the ABC's) to include the rescue plan.
The fall rescue plans tend to get forgotten about a little too often!
@@AllySafety.... Thanks madam❤

Awesome video, good demonstration
Why is the word carabiner blurred 3:06
Great job, and appreciated.
Its Awesome and excellent explanation

Thank you for the video very useful for me and my crew!
Great video. I'm surprised that you don't have at least 100000 subscribers
Excellent presentation and demonstration. Thank you for the informative video 😀
Thank you!
Nice explanation.
If Rachel were our safety trainer, we’d be too busy falling in love to get anything done. But, no one would get hurt
Your heart would get broken
Clear, concise information.
Thank you for valuable information
Please upload a video about lifeline, inspection,SWL test of line.

Very good Content 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇲🇿🇲🇿
Well done 👍✅✅✅
Hi, I am curious but does anyone know why carabiner is blurred in the video?
Because it was misspelled and I didn't want people from the Caribbean to get offended.
Good 👍
well done it's a good video evar i see
Your watching videos is very nice
She looks like she has a fun job 😊

Yeah, the lanyard not having any give confuses me a lot as well. It would greatly reduce the forces on the person falling, as well as the anchor.
Not sure what the timestamp is but are you talking about the self-retracting lanyard? It maintains tension during normal movement.
@@AllySafety We're talking about the steel cable used. Hi.. If we use wire rope connector as anchor point then how we rescue a worker? Did we wait rescue team?
I once heard of a story where some military guys were in Iraq working on a structure with locals. They had given a local a safety harness and line. A bit later they looked at the set up and one of them said to the other, what is wrong with this picture? Oh no.... Sadly it's more common than you'd think.
I see some of them are wearing a helmet, more similar to what you would wear when riding a bike. have you discussed this different types of hard hats?
Great
Such great information by such a cutie
Why was carabiner blurred out?
Haha, it was spelled wrong and was potentially offensive to people from the Caribbean. 😂
Excellent explanation.
Please can you make a video on, how to pass CSP Exam?
Yes, I’ve got it on my list and am hoping to get to it soon.
@@AllySafety thanks. Waiting 😐
Why is carabiners censored
When would a worker need to use the lanyard and tie off vs when should they use 3 point contact when climbing ladders?
Wait why was carabiners censored?
Spelling error 🤦🏻♀️
You didn't switch out your harness after you exposed it to a fall
Wait, so 54% had no access to fall arrest equipment and 23% had access but didn't use it. That only adds up to 77%. How did the remaining 23% of all fatal workplace happen while using fall arrest equipment?

Jaime Mountain
Why did they fog-out "carabiners"? Do they think this is too closer to "beaners"?
Yeah, there was a spelling error and we didn’t want to offend anyone by how bad our spelling is or by accidentally using something close to an offensive term.
@@AllySafety Good thing you didn't misspell it as "Caraniggers".....

for real.... no one is gonna say it........?
I'm crazy about you! You're so beautiful! I love you!
Thanks please get me a 3/4 ton pickup truck, thats very light.
The 3/4 refers to the payload capacity. These are heavy-duty pickups like the F-250 and Ram 2500.
I’m sure she has plenty of guys trying to fall on her.
hey you don’t weigh 130 lbs so you should not be in a harness at all.
I think you underestimate my weight and I’m very flattered.
I’m sorry, I can’t concentrate. Next time get some tubby old guy with a beard to wear that thing….
Don’t matter anyways PFAS systems are for women who can’t walk
Why is carabiners blurred out?
