I love all of the meadowlark shows, but every episode of Skipper and David is some of the best content on the internet
These two are a perfect mix of styles.
I do love these 2 when they get together. I just prefer it when Dan leads the conversation and allows them both to give their points and disagree with each other back and forth instead of having david hold up the conversation up as well.
Excellent conversation, I need these guys to make this more of a weekly or bi-weekly thing

You should do a visual biography on the life of John skipper. He is a titan of industry type and you could do for him, with the visual format, the same thing TITAN did for John d Rockefeller In the book format.
Skipper's comparison of the American and European models of player development was spot on. Samson didn't know enough about soccer dynamics to understand it

would love to see david talk about his accounting when at the marlins, i still remember talking about it in my sports econ class 10 years ago about how they used accounting to show they were not making a profit.

I know I’m a business/deal nerd, but still these are my favorite shows. Fascinating.
Skipper is spot on about the XFL and Big Three, especially the mention that there are already other sports to air without inventing lesser leagues to fill the time.
David is very good at pushing Skipper to talk.
I went to college with the great John Skipper. It’s my regret I didn’t know him. Man, is he sharp.

As someone who really doesn’t like David on the main show, I absolutely love these conversations he has with John Skipper. This is where he really shines. And I would like to see these conversations more often.
Mr. Skipper is a great communicator. Makes sense that he has a masters degree in English literature from Columbia

I still thinks this show misses a moderator, like when Witty was doing it, but I still absolutely love the interactions between these two individuals. Samson just shouldn't be driving the topics and the conversation, he should be adding to it the same way that Skipper does.
That Messi conversation was really interesting.
Skipper was on point, more good young players over the star of stars.

MLS wants a foothold in the US to make soccer as or more popular at least than Baseball. That would be a huge W. My kids already are more interested in soccer than I ever was as tweens. They both know who Messi is while trying to learn more about legacy NBA. So this will work, Apple has nothing but positive to gain.

No because you don't replace them with better players. You spend years putting bad young players on the field and then you get rid of them after their first or second all Star season.

The PGA was already starting to be looked at regarding antitrust concerns. So seeing the one viable competitor combining with them just further entrenches the PGA as a monopoly in the sport. And it certainly doesn’t improve things that the investment comes from Saudi. I’d be surprised if the transaction goes through honestly. So many roadblocks it’ll have to clear.
samson doesn't know much about sports business. he is just the only person who used to run a team that will offer his opinion unsolicited. i refuse to believe otherwise.

Xfl played hard and talented wouldn't surprise me if one or two beat NFL teams! So many good athletes and selection process so phony told directly to me by former minor league player who said some of the best never got a chance and that he was better than current( back then) Pirate 1st baseman and he would do better for way less money!! Sports largely phony now!!

Don't know when this was recorded, but David u r wrong about Messi. Mike was the guy that told us first & knows & told us what actually happened. It was an Inter Miami deal! Messi did not go to Saudi Arabia despite a $1.3 billion a year offer because his wife told him she is not going to raise her 3 young children there. That simple. He has a home in S. Fl. They want to raise their children here (I live in Broward Co.). David you sang this same song on Dan's show & Mike set u straight. Confusing.

The PGA of America, not the PGA Tour, runs the PGA Championship and the Senior PGA Championship, and co-organizes the Ryder Cup with Ryder Cup Europe, a company controlled by the PGA European Tour.
If you guys are going to talk soccer, please have a clue regarding transfer fees which is obvious you are not familiar and are debating if signing Messi on a free transfer is better than bringing 25 EPL players 24-27 yrs old. A good player, not great, like Alexis Macallister from an upcoming team like Brighton just went for $80M, multiply that by 25 players to increase the league level and who will pay for that? Not even counting wages for those 25 players. Frankly, have a soccer knowledgeable person for this conversation, and please let it not be the fake Brit who is a great cheerleader but has no clue about business in soccer.

I like David but he is so slimy at times. He says he has made profitable companies look like they are not profitable with accounting "slight of hand", and whatever he did wouldn't be considered illegal. That may be true, but it certainly sounds dishonest and unethical.
He's Trump's mole at Meadowlark. His resume: I sort or ran the worst team in MLB, before I didn't. And I couldn't even get a bolo tie on my expense account.
