I'm glad you mentioned the one handed riding and how it is possible to do that a bit too much. I've been doing it a lot lately too and i had the issue of my horse dumping on her front end in the turns this weekend, so I am also going back to doing some collection and hip control and getting her set back on her booty! great point about being balanced with our training and not forgetting some of the foundation stuff while we focus on other, maybe more advanced training things.
Absolutely!! Still a full believer in that’s being the end goal but yes sometimes we have to reevaluate our current situation and do what is needed in that moment. You guys still did great last weekend from what I saw!

have you ever tried the josey million dollar bit? what are your opinions on it?
I have tried it a few times, I think it is a very user friendly combination bit. It's a good entry point to start exploring combination bits and from there you can decide what you need more or less of.
