To be honest, I think a lot of us had trouble telling a part certain characters as kids. They do look quite similar if your just going by box art (where the biggest distinguishing features are colors).
3:20 While your frustrations are valid, those same rules insured that female characters were present at all in Bionicle. Since the more natural Glatorians were not bound by the same rules, we actually had less new female characters 2009 onwards because lego wasn't locked in by lore anymore.
People thought the biggest joke of the year was Ghost of Tsushima not winning The Game Awards but I think it's actually that this video got less than 1000 views! Not only you've summed up Metru Nui nicely here, but it's tidily narrated just like the big channels out there. I wish that you've at least reached 50.000 subscribers by the end of 2021. But even if you didn't, I will still appreciate the animation contents you've made. Like damn, you've one of the very view TH-camr who actually talked about Summer Wars! Your channel is not a "niche" channel, but you did have a good range of content. So whatever goes, i hope it goes well. Again, great video!
0:50 What game is that!? An official metru timeline game that was canned or something fanmade? Also Xenoblade Chronicles X ost in the credits is dope! I actually really loved the setting for metru nui in 2004-5 when i was kid, mainly cuz i really had a thing for what it and star wars were doing at a time which was prequel settings that were more futuristic. I dunno why that clicked with me back then. Not so much now but i do still appreciate it. Also yeah for most of my mocs i made in my teens i ignored the "Only blue are girls" rule. Tho mainly cuz i didn't even know it was that set in stone back then. I thought Roodaka was from Onumetru back then... kinda roboracist i know but still
I agree with the sentiment of why only water element as females so g2 did greatly but one thing I gotta say in the bionicles defense is lego the company didn't want to have female characters at all but since the bionicle teams said water HAS to be female it made it so at least 2 female character is present in each wave. So I blame the company's bias on that
At first I (as a kid) thought Vakama Metru’s figure seemed boring compared to Tahu Nuva’s (basically because I thought TN had cooler weapons) but when I first saw Bionicle 2, he (for reasons like 4:30) really grew on me
