My s4 hasn’t been turned on in 5 years as it refused to charge new batteries and ports have done nothing but the “smack method” worked and fixed it so it charges now and boots ridiculous this works in 2020! Thank you
The power button was stuck.
Smacking power button on a piece of cloth laid on kitchen top made the button lose and it works.

Prolly won't see this but thanks man - the metal to clean the USB port worked! I was using toothpicks and thought it was for sure clean. Must have been a little corrosion I wasn't able to see.

This video works my android was vibrating when I’m charging but won’t turn on it was like a pulsing vibrating so what I did was hold the power botton with the battery out and it worked

So i took the phone to a GSM, luckily i found one open during the holidays, the issue was the side button. I was a bit stuck or such, fixed it with 20$ and it being changed. Cheers for the vids man ^_^

Thanks it worked. Last things I tried, holding power button 60 seconds, brushing the charging port, and blowing in the charging port. (Even tho u didn't mention that.) Don't know what worked but one of those options worked.
This actually worked my charger is now charging faster than before thanks Bro I am gonna have to clean the cable and the charger head and phone USB port every 2 days of the week thanks alot.

I've had bad connections between charging cable and phone mini usb plug. If I put a block under the cable right up against the phone, the angled pressure will sometimes complete the connection.

I followed the instructions in this video yesterday and now my phone is charging and holding a charge like it did before.
More recently, my Samsung S4 Active has been charging very slowly. There was one moment where I had left the phone for about an hour charging on 2% and came back to 2%. I figured it was my charger because towards the end of the charger where you plug into the phone, it was tearing. I changed chargers to my original Samsung one and surprisingly it powered up way faster and I thought the problem was solved. After that, I continued using that charger for about a week but, now the same problem is happening again. It takes such a long time to power up. I left the phone to charge for about an hour on 10% and it was on 20% when I checked. I'm not sure what the problem may be. Can you please help?
