My husband drives the M&M’s pick up in the video, he currently races with a different livery, and the current engine set up is an LS3 Chevy.
He’s had a couple of different engine configurations though.

My Dad races class seven autograss. He uses two Kawasaki ZX12 engines in the back of a pickup body. You can see some videos on my channel.
The class eights are a lot like the 'Lightning Sprints' that you have in the states: a single 1300cc bike engine but with drive boxes instead of chain drive. The big differences are the tyres and the lack of stagger. We are restricted to sanctioned rally tyres, which have a much smaller surface area. And because we have straight-line starts, we are stuck with a more symmetrical setup.
We knew very little about the short-track scene in the states until about a decade ago, and we are still trying to figure out what ideas are transferable.

Grass roots racing. When me & my then wife quit tarmac rallying, we formed an auto grass track team. with some help from the local service station & the girls employer (dairy deliveries) Mad Cow racing ! An all girl driver team. The girls had BBQ in the paddock & partied hard every sunday event. And they unsettled the tough boys from the scrapyard teams. The only rival immuned was the daughter of a local car breaker as she was playing the same psycological game. Fun days.

One of my favourite racing series in the UK is the Scottish Legends Championship. All races at Knockhill. But it's absolutely brilliant. It's much more entertaining than any F1 race on TV

The class 7 cars are indeed powered by motorcycle engines, except with a little twist because they actually have 2 engines. If you pause the video at the right time you can see clearly that there's 2 separate engines in the back of those little cars

Cheers for checking it out Ian It's always good to see other petrol heads that enjoy all sorts of motors and your content. The classes range from basic stock cars 4 cylinder 1000cc stripped and a cage to a full space frame twin motobike engined purpose built outfit, like in your reaction class 7 and 10. Age ranges I believe are from 14 year old in the junior sections to women and men races. Used to be a cheap sport but now some outfits are in the region of £20 k plus for factory supplied balanced engines etc. Worth a look is there crashes and spills. It was a great sport when I raced fast in the dry and sheer chaos in the wet.

The juniors are from ages 10-15 from age 16 they hop into the “big boy” classes, also the women have a chance to race here!

My brother races Class 3! I've always loved going as a kid, and watching videos now. There are different Leagues based on where you're based (example: West Midlands, South Wales, Irish, Scottish, East England etc) and there are clubs (Teifi, Scunthorpe, Ludlow, Camarthen etc) within those leagues.
Class 7s and Class 5s are mainly composed of mini pick-ups, but you do get wide-body minis and of course your super-saloons.
There's women races and juniors too made up of ages 10-15! Women can race with men and there are some high class drivers.
Class 8, 9 and 10 are made up of what we call "specials" that follow open-wheeled cars that mainly use motorbike engines.

Love the videos dude big fan from the UK. As a short oval fan you should definitely check out more of the UK oval scene it’s been around since the 50s and the pinnacle is the “brisca F1 Stockcar championship” it’s mega they look like the love child of a sprint car and a tank and it’s full contact with 700bhp v8s it’s amazing racing and as a fellow nascar fan one you will enjoy

3:26, These are Class 7 autograss cars. And basically as long as it meets the safety requirements, is a production car silhouette and is 2wd, almost anything goes. I'm not sure what this car has in particualr, but it looks rear engined. I've also seen cars with LS engines, twin Hayabusa, a 2 litre Hayabusa engine and Hayabusa V8s

You talked about local car racing:
Near me in the UK, there is a classic car hill climb event that happens yearly where people race everything from race cars to custom cars to vintage cars, road worthy cars and everything in between! (Loads of Minis, Austin 7s, MGBs, Caterhams, Ginettas etc)
(also, I mean Tarmac hill climb, not mud)

It has a Wiki page Ian!
    "Class 7
Class 7 is exclusively designated for rear-wheel-drive vehicles. The engine capacities in this class are unrestricted, but they must exceed 1421 cc, unless a motorcycle engine is used, in which case a 1000 cc engine is permissible. A considerable number of class 7 cars utilize motorcycle engines and in such cases, two engines may be employed to propel the vehicle. The engines used in these cars often come at a substantial cost, and examples include Cosworth turbo-engines, large-block American V8 engines, and various highly tuned V6 engines."

the first car you was watch the mini pick of andy holtby has used 2 different v8 engines from the v8 Hayabusa engine and currently now using a ls3 in his mini pick up the cars weight about 400 to 500kg full spaceframe chassis the class 7 is a unlimited class so any engine can be used same for the class 10s its unlimited the main power plant in the class 7 and 10 are tuned twin Hayabusa engines at some venues you can see them doing about 60 to 70mph into the corner on the back wheels depending on track conditions

Stoppelacker-Rennen (stubble farming race) - They also exist here in Germany. In autumn, when the fields are mowed. The teams get old cars that have almost had their life behind them, then everything comes out: interior, windows, carpet, everything. Then some reinforcements are welded in, H-belts and then they drive various parkours until the car is shot. The scrap recyclers' front loaders and containers are already there and they take everything away.
