Learning while asleep works: I used to record myself saying anatomy etc medical Latin words and let the tape go in a loop all night. (It helps to sleep alone.) BUT I also had to study them while awake. I still remember most of those words, despite never using those them since I finished studying about 25 years ago.

Good video! My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. That's a funny joke. :D Even if this worked 100% (but in reality it works for only about 1-5% of phrases because during the night brain sleeps most of the time), even then it wouldn't be enough because all of the phrases used here are pretty basic and are not enough to pass the exam.

Incase yall are curious, you dont learn while you sleep. If your learning a language, it helps to hear it and watch shows in that language. This gets you used to the grammer and vocalizations of it. Im learning french and i love watching french asmrs because i can recognize some part and learn new words as well as get used to pronunciation. Thats all!

It is mostly PG, so anyone can watcht it. I would also add. When learning a language, don`t think. Just listen. Children watch the same shows over and over again. It makes Parents mad, but repetition is how you get better. Listening to the same word a hundred times makes it stick.
this is genius, as a very busy charity worker who is going travelling to honestly either a french or Spanish speaking country, I love the help of this vid when I'm asleep, as a person with short memory it helps me remember how to properly speak french with the right accent too. i find this especially helpful when I'm in quebec and with my talking disorder it's hard enough to speak language, but using this series I've learned Spanish, Russian and Japanese on top of my two first languages english and french. love these videos

well, yes, you learn when you are sleeping but you don't learn things you hear when you are asleep. You learn things when you're sleeping that you've heard or seen or sensed while you were awake.
At least this sleep and learn is repetitive with phases, soft music background and varied female voices. This is better than another that I have tried and I really feel that I have retained more by morning than some basic verb conjugation drilling.

A good way to learn french is through french spoken media, movies, kids shows, news, etc. I find movies most helpful especially if they're one of your favorites, because you know what the characters are supposed to be saying in certain scenes, now just in french.
I actually got out my password book to get the password so I could write this. My stomachs in pain, my nose is running from laughing so hard. How I wish I knew you all in person!!! This actually works.. trick is to use this programing 4 days (2 days + 2 days off + 2 days) a week, for a year. Alongside, you need to make effort to train your concious mind as well (while awake) through reading.

well, yes, you learn when you are sleeping but you don't learn things you hear when you are asleep. You learn things when you're sleeping that you've heard or seen or sensed while you were awake.

At least this sleep and learn is repetitive with phases, soft music background and varied female voices. This is better than another that I have tried and I really feel that I have retained more by morning than some basic verb conjugation drilling.

I listen to this awake and repeat it since I read more french than speak... and have issues speaking french more than hearing... so useful :)

A good way to learn french is through french spoken media, movies, kids shows, news, etc. I find movies most helpful especially if they're one of your favorites, because you know what the characters are supposed to be saying in certain scenes, now just in french.
