Because it has become the gold standard of superhero games, which insomniac games have based some of their work (both Spider Man titles) off of. My triple crown of the Arkhamverse games are Batman: Arkham Origins, Asylum, and City. And not just that but they are in this case still well beloved even to this day due to the great writing and voice acting by legendary talented voice actors.
And now that Rocksteady messed up with Suicide Squad I was reading the comments one time and somebody said that rock steady should learn from insomniac and I said just like they had to learn from Rock Steady with the Batman games for Spider-Man
I still play Arkham Knight to this day. I've beaten it so many times over and over again, it really is my comfort game. It's the fantasy of being Batman which Knight specially excels on, I think that's the main reason. The entire series overall nails the characters and the world, with great gameplay and decent stories, minor flaws aside. To many, it's the definitive Batman world (Besides the DCAU).
Mine too and I'm glad it's on the switch it may not look great but as long as it's playable I don't care I can play it on the go knight is my number one Batman game of all time
@@jangofett1172 Does it? I must be lucky then, on my way to 240% and this didn’t happen and I’ve already delivered him on both stories. Gotta say, the constant frame drops while driving are painfull and I’ve given up on a few Scarecrow AR challenges because it made them unplayable
Its hard for me to choose my favourite Arkham-game, but I think Asylum is pretty damn close to being that. Its just the unique atmosphere, artdirection, music and colorpalette that makes it feel so special.
My favorite Arkham game is: Arkham City because when I was little I used to play this game for the first time in the PS3 during the early 2010s and I remember playing this as Batman gilding around Arkham city and beaten up criminals.
you’re the only youtuber i actually like listening to, even if i put you on for background noise i always end up putting stuff aside and watching your videos.
My all time favorite game in this series is hands down Arkham Origins as at time of launch, I almost lost my son and at that time, that was a pillar of strength for me and a game that the two of us bonded over
I love that two of the most iconic versions of the character ( BTAS/DCAU and Arkham) were both voiced by Kevin Conroy. It doesn't get any better than that.
The Arkham series is one of my favorite video game series along with Lego games, Assassin's Creed games, Star Wars games, and some other franchises I missed. It introduced me to a lot of Batman's rogues gallery, has some of the best combat in gaming, has well composed music, explores Batman's inner struggles as well as show off his skills as a detective and in stealth sections, and is a great way to listen to some of Kevin Conroy's voice acting of the Dark Knight as well as the voice acting for many other characters such as Joker, Catwoman, and Pre-TN-1 Bane.
Favorite Arkham game: Origins. It was fun playing a younger Batman and seeing Bruce have a real arc (which would also act as a bookend to Knight). Plus, Joker's debut is done so impactfully. Favorite superhero game: Insomniac's Spider-Man 2. This series goes further than Arkham with the cinema quality experience by making the civilian identity just as important as the superhero. Spider-Man 2 elevates everything from its predecessors to give an immersive Spidey experience, especially with the symbiote.
Cutting edge visuals that still hold up today, excellent combat which inspired other games like Sleeping Dogs, awesome boss battles, unmatched atmosphere (etc...). There's plenty of reasons why the Arkham games are amazing. Its the same thing with the Saints Row franchise, there's a reason why most people loved SR1 & SR2 but hated the atrocious Saints Row reboot because it had none of those things that SR1 & SR2 had over a decade ago.
Arkham Knight will always be my favorite Arkham game, mainly because Scarecrow gets to be the main villain. But all in all, this series is just a masterclass of how to do a great superhero game. You have a great atmosphere, top-tier voice acting, phenomenal gameplay mechanics, interesting characters, and a great story.
Arkham City is my personal favorite of the games. It brought in so many classic villains, had improved combat, the Riddler missions were a lot of fun (except for tracking down every trophy that was a pain) and the most important factor for me. the bosses are the best out of all of the games. For favorite non Arkham super hero game I'm going to throw out a weird one, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, it was so much fun going through one of Marvel's most controversial story lines and it changed things for the better, I also liked that the game had different bosses depending on if you chose to register or rebel.
Favorite Arkham game would probably be Arkham Origins. It's the buggiest I played but most of my playthroughs have been relatively bug free. I think it has one of the best stories and Bane is one of my favorite Batman villains, and Origins did him right. For my favorite non-Batman superhero game, I think I'm pretty much limited to Spider-Man or Infamous: Second Son. So I'm going to go with the first Marvel's Spider-Man.

Every game has their strengths: - asylum has the atmosphere - city has the best story - origins has the best boss fights - knight has the best mechanics and overall Gotham to explore
Batman is my first superhero that I ever got into superheroes and ever since when Spider-Man had his open world with Spider-Man 2 I was so jealous but now I'm glad that I live long to see Batman has the best unique Masterpiece and even better than Spider-Man in open world games. The Arkham games are truly a masterpiece
I feel like scar face could’ve been a great intro scene or start scene for Arkham knight. Like Batman stopping a robbery he was in the middle of. And a creepy scene of him talking with the puppet that would’ve been great
Why is Arkham loved: 1) it’s the freaking best Batman games ever. 2) Batman has the villains (Spider-Man also) but most others don’t have a ton like these two . 3) story . Paul Dini-enough said 4) the combat is still so awesome to date! ** if suicide squad would have used Arkham combat vs fortnight combat-the game would have been better.
Arkham Knight absolutely perfected the combat and stealth, it's easily the best feeling game of the series. The amount of suits is insane, too, though I usually default to the BvS suit
God I miss when these games were at their peak. One of my coziest childhood memories is waking up on rainy Saturday and playing Arkham City on my PS3. Things were so simple it’s crazy
I spent the whole my whole early morning playing Arkham Knight trying to achieve 1.000.000 in Iceberg Lounge, it wasn't annoying, it was actually fun, that game manages to be forever fun and engaging
Knight is definitely my favourite! I always play it because the graphics is beautiful, the combat system is perfectly updated, the open world is enjoyable, and it serves a fitting end for Batman. The Batmobile/Battank parts may be a little boring, but I personally like it because I think they were supposed to make Knight the ultimate finale. I'm not even bothered by the Jason Todd Twist because I still love Arkham Knight as a cool character. Oh, and who can forget the Joker hallucinations?
Arkham knight is my favorite Arkham game It was my first Arkham game I played it when I was 8 on release day and I have loved Batman as a character ever sense it got me into the Tom king Batman run and it has the best gameplay graphics and the mods keep it alive
My favorite Arkham game is City for the combat and story, and knight for the variety of skins and the ability to play as the red hood. My favorite superhero game is the entire Arkham saga including origins, because I was 5 years old when asylum came out, I never had that game launch experience like a lot of people had but I did end up enjoying playing it then the other 3, and now I just recently plated asylum and city
I have been replaying Arham knight a couple of days ago and I just noticed an Easter egg that I haven't noticed before in Bruce office, there is this dog feeding bowl with Ace written on it on the ground, I must have walked by it a gazillion times and I NEVER NOTICED, it got me wishing for a cameo of the bat hound in the Arkham games.
Batman arkham city is my favorite, i remember seeing my cousin play it and arkham asylum. I remember just loving it but i never got to play it until i eventually got my own copy. I fell in love with it even more, arkham batman is my batman. If anyone even mention the word "batman" i instantly think of this one and kevin conroy. Kevin conroy made me into the man i am today and i love him. I love batman and all these games. I wouldnt trade the world for them and the impact it all had on my kid self was extraordinary. Im thankful i even got to experience it all and be part of this world
You know, the fantastic combat system is one of the reasons why I do revisit this game a couple times a year. Back when anyone played this for the first time, all you had to do was literally basically "button smash" and dodge enemy attacks and bullets and you'd get through the game, even if you had to take some clumsy body damage along the way. Since then, I try different skill builds (unlocking different skills in different orders since you got to pick in this game which order you unlock the level up skills), different combos, and even try out the different batarangs. The remote batarang in Asylum was the worst gadget to use and I still struggle with it to this day because its controls are so clunky, but I still try to work it out. At least they more or less "fixed" that gadget in Arkham City. in answer to the "Question of the day": Arkham City is always going to be my favorite of the trilogy, although Arkham Origins was a close contender. I don't care what people say, that game is underrated. It was only a shame for me because on release Origins was so broken (as in unplayable and glitchy with code) that I didn't dare try it on my PS3 back then. But in City, there's just no competition. The side missions, aside from the "Acts of violence" (which leads to nothing and the spawn rates are inconsistent), and of course, the pain in the ass Riddler trophies, are superb. Plus, you actually get to save people. nothing against Asylum but I always felt so bad for both Bruce and the civilians working there that night Joker broke out because batman barely got to save anyone. I think he got to rescue, what? A handful of guards and civilians in each building? like 90% of the asylum employees died that day.
I used to replay Batman Arkham asylum every chance I had when I was young, and I’ve honestly lost count how many times I played through the story. no game series has ever had that effect on me besides Arkham
I just played Arkham VR for the first time, and just being back in the world, hearing Kevin and Mark again, seeing the effect the Joker blood was having on Bruce, it was just amazing. And even though it was pretty short, it made me "feel like Batman" in a lot of cool ways And of course, you get to see Scarface doing nothing yet again lol.
Arkham city is my favorite because you can traverse the world with more than just Batman. I wish the other games allowed you to use the other heroes I that way.
The Arkham series is one of my favourite videogame series of all time and if I had to pick one as my favourite I’d pick Arkham Asylum because it was the first one I played, it has an amazing atmosphere, the character designs, the asylum itself. I’ve played many many times as a kid and I still love going back to it to this day, also as a kid this game was really creepy at times but I loved that about it. Oh and hot take: I like Titan Joker🌚
My favorite Arkham Game has to be Arkham Knight. I'm not old enough to have played the games when they game out. Instead I had an amazing birthday where I got all 4 at the same time, and rushed through them in release order, skipping side missions. Arkham Knight was the first of the games that I 100% completed, then got the dlc for and got 240%. It was only after this that I went back and finished the other games and dlc. Because of this I have no nostalgia or rose tented glasses. Arkham Knight plays better, looks better, feels longer, has more too do, and is more fun, especially playing as Nightwing or Red hood in challenge maps or free roam. Also because I didn't play the side missions, I wasn't let down by things like the hush mission in Arkham Knight, I fact it made it better when I connected the dots with Arkham City.
Been playing arkhamverse chronologically and yeah this is one of the best series in the superhero game genre, from story, gameplay, voice actors. I mean hey the insomniac spiderman basically used their gameplay mechanic. Really hope aside from spiderman, more superhero games will come out and learned the positives of this series My favorite is arkham city tho i do like some stuff from arkham knight
If we’re talking canon Arkham games, it’s definitley Arkham origins. Game got so much shit cuz of diff voice actors and all and diff typa story but it always had me in a chokehold and still does 😭 But my favorite superhero game of all time is EASILY Batman ride of Sin Tzu on my GameCube idc what no one says, that game is still heavy in my rotation and I’m 25 that game is comin with me to the grave 😂 it was Gotham knights before Gotham knights and IMHO BETTER. I have beaten it literally at least 567885478 times
Arkham Batman is where it's at. Honestly My favorite Arkham game is Arkham Knight. I love the story of how Batman will win this battle against a new foe the Arkham Knight & Scarecrow looking for revenge. Also fighting against himself his own psyche. I love the costumes in this game my favorite is Anime Batman skin. I'm glad 89 Batman skin is in the game. The combat is wonderful I love the fear takedowns. The batmobile is awesome. Thanks for the vid Jay.
I feel like this pick is a no-brainer, but City. It did everything as well as a Batman game good in moderation. And to answer question 2: hopefully I’ll be wrapping up the first Insomniac Spider-Man game. Overall great time. Looking forward to the rest of the series
The amazing thing about Arkham if you can find new things about the game even after you’ve played it 100 times. Whether that’s new Easter eggs, new voice, lines, a new creative way to tackle a situation, or even just a new appreciation for the quality gameplay and narrative that goes into these titles.
I LOVE THESE GAMES SO MUCH! I love the stories in them, atmosphere, lore and almost perfect adaptation of Batman and his world. Also I think those are one of the most immersive games ever made. My favourite one is Arkham Knight because it's an amazing finale and it polished every mechanic and overall it feels like a comination of everything that was created in previous games. Not to mention IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL AND IT'S GAME FROM 2015 YET IT FEELS LIKE PS5 GAME MORE THAN MOST ACTUALL PS5 GAMES!!! Trully timeless game and ahead of it's time.
Favorite Arkham Game: Arkham City is my favorite. It's probably in my top 10 list of favorite overall video games. It felt the most balanced out of the Arkham games and it really expanded on Asylum with all the different gadgets and special moves you can unlock. Arkham Knight is my second favorite. Favorite Superhero Game: Probably between Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 or 2 or Lego Batman 1 or 2. Also X-Men The Official Game on the original xbox was fun. I can't play the new Spiderman games with them being PlayStation exclusive but they would probably be my overall favorite if I could.
Arkham City is my favorite Arkham game for sure, i've probably dumped over 300 hours into that game if not more, favorite superhero game of all time though? Ultimate Alliance, might be nostalgia but I just played through it again recently and I still absolutely love it, might be dated and everything but the story kicks ass, the cinematics are amazing, and every single boss fight even though they aren't exactly groundbreaking they are all different from one another and each have their own vibe, game is magnificent.
Arkham City is my fav, felt like the writing went down in quality in Knight without Paul Dini. Though I like all the Batman Arkham games, even Batman Arkham Underworld, the mobile base building and raiding game where you play the villains. Uploaded videos of it on my channel on the day it shut down, that was a sad day.
Probably Arkham City it just took everything from Arkham asylum in my opinion and elevated it to a different level and added some really cool mechanics and just the character designs everything looks awesome to me
Great video Jay and I glad you got a sponsorship and I always have a love for the Arkham series because at the time this was something a Batman game had never did as with combat and tone and to answer your questions jay my favorite Arkham game is Arkham Knight and non Arkham super hero game with the spider-man game from 2018
My favorite Arkham game is easily Knight, I love everything about it... Besides the Boss fights, everyone besides from Jason, Pyg, and Albert are just... Shoot tank for tank go boom...
In arkham asylum I just like replaying the mission and challenges. Arkham city the combat increased which I liked and we can play as catwoman in the open world. Arkham origins I really like playing against the boss fights and playing the initiation dlc. For arkham knight I get the feel of actually being like batman, against criminals and soldiers.
Arkham knight is by far my favorite. And it’s the best game. It got so much hate for no damn reason. And the Batmobile is one of the best parts of the game. Said what I said. Just finished another play through. Probably one of the games I’ve had my most play throughs of.
Agreed love that confined spooky atmosphere that arkham asylum has its one of the reasons it's so good my favourite superhero game would have to be spiderman 2018 ps4 game when it first came out I was so amazed by how the technology advanced so much from the days when i played spiderman enter electro on ps1 back in the day to what is now possible in todays gaming space is nothing short of amazing
Gotta say Arkham Knight is my favorite yes I know story wise it has problems and yes it overuses the tank combat but it’s rly a comfort game for me I usually play through it at least once a year that’s not to mention the graphics combat and hell even the traversal gliding feels amazing driving the Batmobile through the streets is rly fun all in all definitely a top 10 games for me personally even with some of the problems
My favorite Batman Arkham game is city, my favorite superhero game is probably a tough question but I love marvels midnight suns cuz it’s basically marvels persona
My favorite Arkham game is night it was my first Arcom game I started playing around 2019 2020 and right when I heard the voice of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hammel‘s Batman and Joker I automatically recognized it it’s my favorite or today even though I played the other ones my favorite non-Arkham game is probably Spider-Manfrom insomniac until they release the wolverine game because of a huge fan of wolverine
Fans and I keep wondering what the Arkham series would’ve been if Paul Dini wrote knight and if we would get Superman game or a bat family game after knight.
My favorite Arkham game is Origins. I remember my mom getting me it for my birthday, as I’d previously played Asylum and City, so immediately I fell in love with the game. Unfortunately, because it’s not backwards compatible, I haven’t played the game in years :(
I still feel like Arkham Knight is considered to be in not a very good light and don't get me wrong tank gameplay is boring unskippable cutscenes are annoying however the gameplay predator and combat is so pristine so well find it is so fun to play and I never get bored of it
I would do anything for another Arkham game for ps5. Imagine that. That’s the hardest tbh g to accept about suicide squad. It was a dumb idea and they should have known that. No one wants to kill the justice league and no one wants live service. Arghh

in answer to the "Question of the day": Arkham City is always going to be my favorite of the trilogy, although Arkham Origins was a close contender.
And even though it was pretty short, it made me "feel like Batman" in a lot of cool ways
And of course, you get to see Scarface doing nothing yet again lol.
This series is how I found your channel and I couldn’t be more thankful for that.
Arkham city is my favorite because you can traverse the world with more than just Batman. I wish the other games allowed you to use the other heroes I that way.
Fun fact, in arkham knight, if you do a jump attack on the wrong thug, by pressing x twice you can jump onto a different enemy.
Because they are some of the best games ever created
Because it was a good series
Maybe people still love the Arkham games because they aren’t dog shit maybe that’s why unlike kill the justice league.
Asylum had incredible atmosphere! That game scared the hell out of me so much when I was a kid
Really hope aside from spiderman, more superhero games will come out and learned the positives of this series
My favorite is arkham city tho i do like some stuff from arkham knight
Hey are u still gonna make a video on the batman beyond animated pitch? Would love to hear ur thoughts on it!
After the shower of shite in Gotham Knight and Sushi Squad, the Arkham games were truly special. Miss the good old days
If we’re talking canon Arkham games, it’s definitley Arkham origins. Game got so much shit cuz of diff voice actors and all and diff typa story but it always had me in a chokehold and still does 😭
But my favorite superhero game of all time is EASILY Batman ride of Sin Tzu on my GameCube idc what no one says, that game is still heavy in my rotation and I’m 25 that game is comin with me to the grave 😂 it was Gotham knights before Gotham knights and IMHO BETTER. I have beaten it literally at least 567885478 times
Yes
Arkham Batman is where it's at. Honestly My favorite Arkham game is Arkham Knight. I love the story of how Batman will win this battle against a new foe the Arkham Knight & Scarecrow looking for revenge. Also fighting against himself his own psyche. I love the costumes in this game my favorite is Anime Batman skin. I'm glad 89 Batman skin is in the game. The combat is wonderful I love the fear takedowns. The batmobile is awesome. Thanks for the vid Jay.
My favorite is Arkham Knight. The gameplay is amazing being able to fight as Nightwing or Robin alongside with Batman is really fun
True! I've just discovered the line launcher takedown, i finished Knight 240% three separate times and I NOW found out about it!
Infamous is my favorite non arkham superhero game.
But batman Arkham city is my favorite game of all time.
Asylum was my favorite the aesthetics, art style and the feeling of isolation and dredd made it awesome and the voice acting too
Arkham knight with the dlc side missions will always be my favorite
Would love to see all 4 games remastered for ps5/XSX give me an excuse to platinum them again
My favorite Arkham game is Arkham City, I find it to be the most replayable out of the four games.
Arkham knight was way ahead of its time I love all the Arkham games no matter how many times I play it 😊
the only reason people watch you to watch thing about batman im not hating i love your content
Arkham Knight is my favorite Arkham Game. I also enjoy games like Mortal Kombat and Injustice
Arkham knight is by far my favorite. And it’s the best game. It got so much hate for no damn reason. And the Batmobile is one of the best parts of the game. Said what I said. Just finished another play through. Probably one of the games I’ve had my most play throughs of.
I love the four Arkham games with Asylum still being my favorite but my favorite Batman game will always be Batman Returns on the Super Nintendo
Nice to see your getting the bag.
My favorite Batman Arkham game is city, my favorite superhero game is probably a tough question but I love marvels midnight suns cuz it’s basically marvels persona
Just played Arkham knight again. The best superhero game over made so far.
Man I really want a Superman game. 😢 At least a Batman beyond game would suffice for me personally.
Why not? There amazing
9:52 Scarface is my favorite batman villain! XD
Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man, I love the new arc and charcters
Cause it’s good. You would think it’s easy but a newly released DC game proves that’s not that easy.
Arkham knight is my fave .... P.s. my fave food would be a "brick oven pizza"
Arkham City because I've played it the most also I think it has the best story.
Best arkham: arkham knight
Best superhero game: guardians of the galaxy
Best game of all time: Red dead redemption 2
Every time you make a Arkham video I watch and click for sure
Fans and I keep wondering what the Arkham series would’ve been if Paul Dini wrote knight and if we would get Superman game or a bat family game after knight.
I replayed them again my favorite is knight I love the gameplay the most
My favorite Arkham game is Origins. I remember my mom getting me it for my birthday, as I’d previously played Asylum and City, so immediately I fell in love with the game.
Unfortunately, because it’s not backwards compatible, I haven’t played the game in years :(
The 360 version will work on One.
Arghh
My favorite Arkham game is Asylum
my favorite non Arkham superhero game is infamous 2 bcs it's just goated
Mad Max, Sleeping Dogs and Shadow of Mordor, copied the free flow combat too.
