    • @MajorJay

Tommy Gunz, II Nowhere close. I have nothing but love for TDE and Odd Future, but a couple things to consider:
      1) They're not groups. They're crews/label mates
      2) Neither one of those organizations have an emcee seasoned enough to go bar-for-bar. You can make an argument for Kendrick, but most of his multis and delivery draw from Kxng Crooked (Crooked I).

    • @_fameONE
      @_fameONE 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Tommy Gunz, II Point taken. I didn't realize I didn't mention 'group.' My bad.
I don't know if I would say Q is as nice as Kendrick, though. He's my favorite, musically, because I can just vibe to it. I think I would give it Jay Rock as the #2.

Coming back to this interview six years later you can really tell that there were issues in the group. Now knowing what we know now when hearing the stories that were being told to take place during this time we know that Joe really didn’t want to have anything to do with the group anymore at all let alone wrapping, we know that the other three members really wanted to finish the album but they were waiting on Joe, Crooked and Joell knew that it was probably over and they can’t figure out why Joe doesn’t want to record anymore and Royce is just sitting there optimistic.

  • @pdubhnic

Imagine if Eminem didn't write his own lyrics. Let that sink in.
Imagine if any of the GREATS or The G.O.A.T.S of hip hop were merely just vocalists to other peoples lyrics. Real Rap fans know real rap artists would never disrespect the art like that.

Now all of the sudden true artistry isn't needed to compete in the rap game??? GTFOHWTBS!
This is why hip hop has gone to shit and why the music industry as a whole is a fucking joke now. Too many people who can't sing, people can't even fucking rap anymore and more.

***** Crooked and Budden said it best at 23:20 . You cant state your opinion on other artists or you're labeled a hater. Look at what they're trying to do to Meek. Meek stated facts and he's being called a hater, jealous, and people bringing up net worth and record sales like that has to do anything with somebody writing your rhymes.

Its funny...reading these comments i see a whoooole lot of ppl turned the interview off less than 5 mins in. Not realizing it got a whooole lot better. But thats kind of how society and rap music most definitely is now. Ppl dont want to listen or open their minds and let something develope. Hence the extreme amount of simple whack rap music nowadays. Ppl just want an easy beat n catchy chorus to listen to because it requires lil effort. Letting an interview develope n progress is like listening to a dopr lyricist who builds a song an album a story. Ppl want everything quick now and dont want to watch things grown and bloom.

What kind of shit is going on in RAP? Me personally Im not with you taking other people creativity and you running with it. Why not just share the wealth. but no you want to be the sole star. I like Drake, hes dope. But you can never be on a 2pac or Biggie level if you dont write ALL your own rhymes. You rap you shouldnt run out of flows. Like BIG say, "I got techniques dripping out my butt cheeks" Nigga overflowing with rhymes!
Rap used to be one of the only things left with integrity now you have guys kissing other guys-PASS. You have an alleged drug kingpin exposed to be a former squeaky clean officer-PASS. You have rappers wearing dresses-PASS- Now you have rappers who dont even write the lies they are telling you and we still regard their music as significant like they are the only ones in the genre.

What about Kanye, he is one of the best to ever do it.. and its known that he has a team of writers. . Drake is better than meek , maybe he should use a writer, dude is super repetitive.

19:19 anybody think drake actually makes great albums ?? i think he has some good songs but albums ?? i know for me i cant dig a drake album ... imo the best album makes of the new generation would be more of a Jcole or Kdot ... as far as an album goes ... albums have to have some sort of direction and cohesiveness ... imo drakes albums are more like an itunes playlist of just good songs ... they dont nessarily tie into each other from beginning to end ... or have a certain concept to it overall .. but with kdot and jcole you for sure get that ... its album like watching a moving from the openning scene till the credits start rolling ....

And because of that he is definitely defending the group I believe but I think they are disappointed in the fact that they aren't where the deserve to be. And they truly do deserve to be a lot more out there. Compared to all of these wack bullshit rappers that we hear right now. And the frustration is felt that only from artists of their caliber and agree but even the underground artist like myself. We try so hard to make music that makes sense and we get overlooked for these garbage mainstream replicas. It's true.
