Even in the origin version, you can see his jetpack activating for a split second. It was a smart move to make it more clear that it was malfunctioning by adding the sparks, though.
@@abelarmstrong8054 ive seen what theyre talking abt it isnt as much like hes dicing him he just stabs him in the leg aswell so it prob wouldve been fine
That explains why I always felt like Jango was underperforming in that fight scene. Then, years later, I saw explanations pointing out the Reek damage (which was missing from the original theatrical release), and said to myself, "Oh, well that makes sense, but why don't I remember seeing that?" And, of course, the reason was that it was not there to be seen. So thanks for pointing that out.
He's terrible at it. He can't just leave things alone. He's a pro at ruining things. The CGI added to the originals looks ridiculous. Disney and Lucas can eat shit.
I still like the detail that was put in for people who went “why doesn’t Jango’s head fall out of the helmet when Boba picks it up?” because you can see it fall out right after the decap lol
Before Jango fett head got chop off, you can see they cut a small scene where Windu should’ve constantly make several wounds on Jango after he cut off his arm, maybe it was a way for Jangos ego trying to use everything from his armor like wrist rocket, flamethrower etc. but Windu disable them
Alot of people hate attack of the clones but honestly its one of my favorites. The arena creatures, battle of geonosis, Padme being hot 🔥. Mace vs Jango. Yoda vs Dooku. I love it
It may have been the weakest out of the Prequel Trilogy, but it was still pretty good and I loved it. Phantom Menace and Revenge of the Sith were just miles better, but Attack of the Clones was not bad.
i feel like it was still pretty obvious, i mean you basically red trampled by a tri-horn rhino and i wouldn’t expect a jet pack to continue working after that
Mr. Lucas really paying attention a single small detail to make Star Wars hoes to perfect. 👍👍 I hope George Lucas back in action to Star Wars series. 👍👍

Fun fact Mace didn’t want to cut Jango’s head You can see that in the frame where the sparks are Mace thought he knew that jango would fly away he even looked at the position of where jango’s legs would have been if he would have flown away so mace actually wanted to cut jango’s legs but didn’t know his jet pack was broken So he killed jango on accident
I’m not gonna lie someone who saw the original always wondered why I just sat there looking so silly. I’m really happy that they went back and fixed it. It looks nice.
This makes so much more sense now, I was always confused why he never flew away like how he did with kenobi, but the only problem I have with this scene, is why jango never fought back with his fist? I know he would lose eventually but jango has beskar armor to deflect light saber attacks, he is a mandolorian and has the skills of one too but he never fights back and just shoots, mandolorians can fight jedi as they literally are jedi killers but he doesn't, why is that?
For some reason I completely forgot about his jetpack being damaged. Even so I think George Lucas made the right decision to put that effect in there because yeah he could have just flown away from Mace Windu otherwise
When my dad went to go see this movie in theaters he had the exact same complaint. But then eventually came to the realization, or the theorization that Mace windu was holding him down with the force. So his jetpack couldn't get enough lift to get him away.
Btw the reason windu killed him (cause he thought he would be higher cause jetpack but since it didnt work his head was where his legs should have been) thats why he looks confused after too
We’ve officially come full circle. I watched every STAR WARS movie for May the Fourth in theaters this year, and during Attack of the Clones the scene was included to explain why Jango’s jet pack was damaged. So, the film returned to theaters, finally whole.
Actually i tough that thing at the premiere in 2002, but forgot about it after saw the sparks in the digital version. Wonder if the VHS version kept the original edition cause i still have it, probably should check on it
I watched the movie on opening night. It was clear as day the trampling Jango got was the reason the jet pack malfunctioned, as it showed sparks for a brief moment as he stood up. And, as someone else pointed out in the comments, you can see a small puff of smoke just before being beheadez So… literally no one who watched that scene was surprised he could not fly away
even if Jango flew away, Mace Windu could pull him back with the force. If Vader and Rey can do it both with a whole space ship, Windi could easyly pull back Jango
he also lifts his feet up and starts taking off with the broken jet pack… oh and lucas also changed windu cutting his arms off first before the head OG scene is brutal as Bantha shit
When the original trilogy was in theatres, Lucas would change things and make the theatres show the new version. Also, the Library of Congress wanted to add his movies to their vault and asked him for the originals. He wouldnt give them .
Even without jetpack malfunction, I wouldn’t even be able to gain back my balance in less than 5 minutes if a 5-ton creature had run me over and turned me into a tumbling machine, no matter if I had a bunch of mandalorian training
This is probably the best change Lucas made when he revisited Star Wars. Not adding in effects where they aren’t needed for set dressing, but making something that was either intended or at the very least makes the scene more sensible a lot more clear.
I actually caught this one after watching the movie. Cool how the two of the most feared bounty hunters in the universe died because the jet pack was broken. I mean Boba Fett didn’t die but everyone thought he did so good enough.
When i was a lod i saw this in theaters and then when i i got it i watch this movie and was like it different and my parents were odded out tjay i could remember that this wasnt in the theater
Not true. People are gonna doubt me on this of course, but a theatrical print was scanned recently by the guys who did 4K77, 80, and 83 (yes, whilst digital, it was also put onto film and played at theatres without digital projectors since it was uncommon at the time) and the sparks were always there. I'm not entirely sure where this "fact" emerged from, but other than words, evidence suggests otherwise, unless somehow the film reels were the more "final" versions, which evidence of the ending having a different shot as well as other little flaws prove otherwise.
The first part of this video is misleading, because as they are saying “ George Lucas changed one small detail” it shows padme’s outfit changing, then launches into something unrelated to that
Wasn't Jango originally supposed to have his entire arm cut off, his other hand, then his head? That way, the scene afterward with Dooku raising his eyebrow made more sense.
The Jets fired. U could clearly see he was trying to use his jet pack, and that was BEFORE Lucas added the little effects after the original release 🤷🏻♂️
This is not true, it was always there. The people behind 4K77 have also scanned an original AOTC film reel from 2002 and I just checked this scene from it and he still tries to fly away. Some things were changed like the effect for Anakin’s robotic hand at the end of the film, but not this scene.
Even in the origin version, you can see his jetpack activating for a split second. It was a smart move to make it more clear that it was malfunctioning by adding the sparks, though.

George Lucas is the kid who got a 110 on his final school paper/project, and then comes back two weeks later with revisions.
Also his rocket pack started to fire up but because of the damage he couldn’t go anywhere
