Celebrating 20 years of Meteora! ❤ Rank the songs in the comments, and try not to be too offended by mine, just for fun, this is in my Top 20 albums of all time. Help me get this video to 1000 likes 👍
I would love to see a video of your ranking of Hybrid Theory at some point. As far as my ranking of Meteora’s songs: probably pretty close to the listing here.
I have no idea how you rank these considering all of them are excellent tracks. That being said, I absolutely agree with your number 1 pick. It's such a beautiful song that Chester performs with such emotion, and to this day, it is my favorite Linkin Park song. RIP Mr. Bennington. You were, and still are, a hero. ❤️
Meteora strikes a pretty good balance between familiarity and innovation. One could argue the album is an expansion of Hybrid Theory - Easier to Run sounds like a new version of Crawling, Numb sounds like an improved version of Pushing Me Away - but Meteora takes inspiration from more genres: metal, hip-hop, eletronic music... It's an extremely well made album. BTW, I love Fighting Myself.
6:48 as an HSP myself, thank you for coming out about this. It gives me hope that there are other people like me out there who feel this pain of easily being overwhelmed everyday and considering that I went through a friend breakup earlier this month because of my HSP it gives me hope that I can be comfortable in my own skin. And it’s also why Meteora is my second favorite album of all time behind American Idiot.
Linkin Park is such a "stayer" in life. I could relate to their music in my teens because of angst, peer pressure and fear of rejection and failure. It became nostalgic in my early 20's because their later albums tackled the same subjects but from a different point of view because they also got older and now when i'm part of the 27 club and 30 coming fast, i can still relate to their music from a mature point of view. Stress at work, reflecting on the past how you've handled certain problems in life, some regrets in life... But LP's musical message is to look to the future and that is where their legacy is going, together with us.
I remember when we were talking about this album when it hit its 15th anniversary. Hard to believe it’s been twenty years now. It’s, also, crazy that this album landed on my Mom’s birthday. Happy Birthday to both!
Flashing your signed Meteora CD at every opportunity is such a flex and I envy it every time haha. Phenomenal album. For a long time I considered it equal to Hybrid, but the reality is it took what that album did and made it even more refined. Happy 20 🙌🏼🙌🏼
In my opinion, I think Meteora is a lot better than hybrid theory, the band sounds more mature and more involved in the process in making the album. also, I think mike’s rapping sounds a lot better than it did on hybrid theory.
I found this album in Spring of 2018 through your review and listened to it for the first time in high school chemistry class on my headphones. This album has impacted me in a way that no other has. I grew up in an awful home where I dealt with abuse from my Mom, spiraled out of control, was sent to two troubled teen programs, and put right back in that awful spot in Summer of 2017. My Mom began to spiral out of control right when I found this album, and so much of it hit so hard. The themes of loneliness, not wanting to be taken advantage of, wanting to start over, and finding who you are hit me so hard. I found a CD copy of this album for $5, and got to the point in the last few months living with my Mom where I would mostly hole up in my room and just play this album again and again on the CD player I dug out of the back of my closet. The song that I liked the most was Easier To Run, because I just wanted to run from my problems and start over. It helped me to get the courage to move out of her house when I was 17, and when I cut contact with her in late 2022, it felt like I was finally breaking free of what was holding me back. Recovering from what I went through isn't easy, but things finally seem to be looking up for the first time in my life, and I'm happy I've gotten to this point, and thankful for this album.
I agree with you on “Easier to run” it’s such an incredible song and never fails to just absolutely hit me especially now as I’ve grown older and the song as well as a lot of Linkin Park just becomes more relatable.
Meteora will always be one of my top 5 favorite albums, and Hybrid Theory I owe a lot too. And songs like Somewhere I Belong, Easier to Run, and Numb would be life-saving songs for me. Thank you for this, Jon. Happy 20 years of Meteora! 🎉🎉
1 Breaking The Habit 2 Faint 3 Don't Stay 4 Lying From You 5 Numb 6 Easier to Run 7 Nobody's Listening 8 Somewhere I Belong 9 Figure 0.9 10 From the Inside 11 Hit the Floor Step Up is also goated
I remember growing up as a kid watching MTV (back when they still played music videos) and being introduced to Linkin Park for the first time. Breaking The Habit was one of the first songs I ever heard from this band. As the years went on I became more and more attached to Linkin Park because of the lyrics and because of how huge they were and remained as I went on with life. Still incredible to think now as of today this album turns 20 and while I've kinda grown past that phase in life I always tend to come back to this album because it truly is the best one they ever put out. Every song on here is a banger and "Easier to Run" is without question my favorite track for personal reasons. It broke my heart when Chester died, but even now years later I don't cry because it's over, I smiled because it happened. This band really helped me out through those tough times and continue to do so even after all this time. Glad to see that people still enjoy this album even 20 years later and I gotta say your rankings were definitely spot on! Though I personally would've put "Somewhere I belong" higher on this list lol
I've always felt Easier to Run is one of their most underrated songs. Sad that some band members don't like it. As for Breaking the habit, it's a song that shouldn't fit in the album but somehow fits in perfectly. Really looking forward to the 20th anniversary box set. The unreleased songs are awesome so far
After all this time I still find it difficult to decide which track is my favorite on this album but Nobody's Listening is a good candidate. But yeah obviously Breaking the Habit is legendary and I can't even try to argue about that top spot. Nice to see some love for Faint, too!
My ranking: 13. Foreword 12. Session 11. Somewhere I Belong 10. Numb 9. Lying From You 8. Nobody’s Listening 7. Don’t Stay 6. Hit The Floor 5. From The Inside 4. Figure.09 3. Faint 2. Easier To Run 1. Breaking The Habit
Perfect way to celebrate the 20th anniversary, Meteora edges it out over influence and personal connection as my favorite album of all time! Favorite song from here is breaking the habit, as the album aged the song took a new and deeply haunting atmosphere. Rip chester
criminal putting Somewhere I Belong so low 😭 jokes aside, i agree with most of your list. Breaking The Habit is an unbelievable trip-hop masterpiece, Faint manages to unlock that teenage angst once again, and Lying From You has a degree of preciseness and finesse that it's impossible not to nod your head to. personally, i'd put Session higher as I am a sucker for atmospheric and tension-building instrumentals. i'd also put Numb higher on my list (as cliche as it sounds) because it has a certain magic to it and is probably my favorite Chester Bennington performance. sidenote: the Breaking The Habit music video is one of the best music videos of all time and it makes me happy to see rateyourmusic notes Breaking The Habit as a bolded single as well as having it's music video so highly rated. the rating for both of Linkin Park's debut records have been rising in the past couple years, so i'd love to see them get a critical reevaluation of all that made them so refreshing and inventive. to end this comment, i have a question. what is your opinion on the recent music videos for the 2 unreleased Meteora tracks being almost entirely AI art? thank you and have a great day :)
20 years of an absolute phenomenal album. This has all the emotion and heart that Hybrid Theory had. Favorite tracks are Breaking the Habit, Somewhere I Belong, From the Inside, Numb, and Faint.
This will be always be my #1 LP album with Hybrid Theory being a close 2nd. I have always just connected more with the songs on Meteora I find them catchier, heavier and just timeless tracks you can listen too anytime and never get sick of. My introduction into Hybrid Theory was the remixed version of the album Reanimation then listening to the proper studio version of the album afterwards. Also a great album but Meteora takes the cake! \m/. Also my Top 5 songs from this album would be Don't Stay, Lying From You, Faint, Breaking The Habit & Numb.
I listened to this album in its entirety for the first time last summer after finding a copy at the thrift store where I work. Did not take me long to very quickly become addicted 😊
I've been revisiting this album a lot this past year as I've been processing some...difficult information from my childhood that was recently brought to light. If anything these songs hit so much harder as an adult in my thirties than they ever did when I was a kid (except maybe numb...numb was a teen anthem for me lol). Anyway, this album has really been keeping me company as I work to process and heal, and I'll always be grateful that we had Chester for the time we did. Anyways, my rankings are as follows: 1. Breaking the Habit 2. Easier to Run 3. Numb 4. Figure .09 (this song is so underrated...) 5. Somewhere I Belong 6. Don't Stay 7. Lying From You 8. Nobody’s Listening 9. Hit the Floor 10. From the Inside 11. Faint (youtube amvs ruined this one for me a bit) 12. Session 13. Foreword
I totally agree with breaking the habit being number one. It was one of the key songs that got me into Linkin Park, along with New Divide, and Leave out all the rest.
I couldn't even be more grateful that I discovered them through all the singles from this album, especially Breaking The Habit. Watching that music video alone, I knew they were something special that middle-school-aged me couldn't comprehend nor understand. It took my whole 2nd year of high school to learn using the internet just to download the entire album into my iPod, and listened to it back-to-back with Minutes to Midnight. But it's gonna take me until I'm in my deathbed to even rank all the songs as well as yours. Nevertheless, I mostly agreed with your rankings here, except that Faint would be in the top spot... tying with Breaking the Habit... and even Numb... and even Don't Sta-- see, I can't even rank them properly!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah this album slaps so much! Few albums have stood the test of time the same way that this album has for me. 13. Foreword 12. Session 11. Breaking The Habit (Has never hit me the same way it has hit other people, but I still dig it a lot) 10. Easier To Run (Same as with Breaking The Habit) 9. Numb (I have never found it to be one of my favorite singles by them, but it still has a special place in my heart) 8. Nobody's Listening (Probably my favorite hiphop-Shinoda song that they have made along with When They Come For Me) 7. Hit The Floor (My only complaint with this song is that I compare it to Don't Stay and Lying From You since it comes on right after the latter and I just think those go harder. But whenever I hear it standalone, I love it) 6. From The Inside (It has grown on me the past few years. I just saw it as an ok song by them to begin with, but it just stays in my head and my body no matter how long it's been since I've last heard it. Like I keep wanting to come back to it) 5. Figure 09 (This song along with my top 4 are all S-tier to me) 4. Somewhere I Belong (I have had the same experience with this song as with From The Inside) 3. Faint (It was my favorite on this album for a long time. The only reason it isn't anymore is that it has slightly shrunk on me, while the two others have grown on me a lot) 2. Don't Stay (This and Lying From You are probably both in my top 5 favorite LP songs. And they are also probably my favorite heavy songs by them. Only Guilty All The Same and A Line In The Sand can compare for me) 1. Lying From You (I see myself in the way you described your experience with this song. This song goes so fucking hard. It has been my favorite LP song for about a year now, and I can see it stay on that place for a while. At some point I will eventually get tired of it, but not yet...)
When people ask what are some of my favorite albums of all time or to you albums that are like a perfect 10/10, no skips, and for me Meteora is always up there for me. Easily their best album.
1° Faint 2° Figure.09 3° Hit The Floor 4° Easier To Run 5° Breaking The Habit 6° From The Inside 7° Lying From You 8° Don't Stay 9° Somewhere I Belong 10° Numb 11° Nobody's Listening 12° Session 13° Foreword Idk Meteora is impossible to be ranked imo
Its cruel and if not hilarious, that Linkin Park was lumped in the same box as Simple Plan at some point for their lyricism. Yes they both has similar themes on their lyrics but the lyrics on HT and Meteora days of LP is way much vulnerable and less whiny (yes, LP is not whiny to begin with even without the retrospect on Chester's fate). For instance, Perfect and Numb are about the same thing, but one is not like the other.
Easier to Run Figure 09 Somewhere I Belong Breaking the Habit Numb Faint Don't Stay Lying from you From the Inside Nobody's Listening Hit the floor Easily, My favourite album of all time
This was an excellent depiction for such an incredibly well evolved sophomore album of it's time! I shared the same feels of adaptive control from Easier to Run and creative elements the riffage tracks shared too. Love You LP. :) Great Work Jon!!
I love this album so much I could repeatedly and randomly put any track in order and that would be my ranking lol. But I think the one song I’ve listened to the most is Hit the Floor
I don't really understand why so many people overlook Somewhere I Belong. Its my favorite LP song BY FAR. The interplay between Chester and Mike, the dark brooding lyrics. The roaring guitars, the samples that just pull you in from the very start. Its got everything. Having said that though. There is NO weak song on this album. My least favorite is Easier to Run but that song still hits like a runaway train.
Only just finally listened to the new track all the way thru without tearing up. But I haven’t listened to any of the old stuff without crying since Chester passed. This vid had me choppin up dinner with tears streaming down my face blaming onions that was most definitely not cutting. ♥️
Meteora was what took me to another level of LP fan. I was already a fan with HT, but became a true and bigger fan with Meteora and then even way more with ATS. Happy 20th anniversary to Meteora! How time flies! Miss my childhood/teenage years. My top 5: 1. Somewhere I Belong 2. Easier To Run 3. Numb 4. Faint 5. Breaking The Habit
Easier To Run is either my first or second favourite song on the album. It goes back and forward between Breaking The Habbit and Easier To Run. I see both songs as companion pieces. One is about taking easy solutions to deal with the hurt you've caused to others and to yourself by using substances or any unhealthy coping mechanism. The line "I would take all the shame to the grave" flows pretty nicely into Breaking The Habbit. In my interpreation is a song about giving up complelty and ultimately leading to them taking their own life.
This is my 2nd fav album of all time!! I have to say that faint and nobody's listening are my favs. If I had to rank this album I would do it similarly to how you did it. Good job!! Great Video for a Great album!!!
Re-listening to this album after so long (since I got into LP around 2014-2015) got me emotional ngl. For me, lying from you or nobody’s listening would be favorites but literally every single track still stands the rest of time. RIP Chester 💙
absolutely goated album. honestly it's so interchangeable with Hybrid Theory as my favorite Linkin Park album, it really depends on my mood. Lost and Fighting Myself are so good too!! 13. Foreword 12. Session 11. From the Inside 10. Nobody's Listening 9. Hit the Floor 8. Lying from You 7. Somewhere I Belong 6. Don't Stay 5. Figure.09 4. Easier to Run 3. Faint 2. Breaking the Habit 1. Numb
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time, and my favorite album by them is actually A Thousand Suns, but Meteora and Hybrid Theory aren't far behind. Definitely a little bit of a dropoff with the other 4 albums but I still love all of them, including One More Light (I know crazy)
Happy 20th anniversary to this album! If you asked me to rank it, I can't think of ranking this worst to best as the whole album has no bad songs. But my favorite song on that album is Breaking the Habit as it shows their transition and teaser of moving away from Nu Metal and more going in an Alternative Rock sound. Plus, this album came out the same month Fallen and Sing the Sorrow was released.
I love how two different people who love every song on this album would still rank the songs so differently from each other. Loved this video so much even though I think putting hit the floor at #11 is a crime.
Thank you for reviewing this album. Linkin park is my favorite of all time. I love all the albums. This album is my favorite of all of them. Honestly Figure.09 and Breaking the Habit are my favorite of the album but it is a complete album. All their albums are complete albums.
Great list! One of my all-time favorite albums. I still remember hearing Somewhere I Belong for the first time when I was 8 in the backseat of my mom's car. I would rank the songs like this: 1. Lying From You 2. Numb 3. Breaking The Habit 4. Don't Stay 5. Somewhere I Belong 6. Figure.09 7. Easier To Run 8. Faint 9. From The Inside 10. Nobody's Listening 11. Hit The Floor 12. Session 13. Foreward
Meteora and Linkin Park as a whole were my gateway to rock and metal so even if nowadays my tastes mainly lie elsewhere I will always have a soft spot for them. Can't wait to get my hands on the Meteora 20th anniversary edition. As for my ranking I would probably go with: 12. Easier to Run 11. Nobody's Listening 10. Figure.09 9. From the Inside 8. Faint 7. Hit the Floor 6. Session 5. Don't Stay 4. Breaking the Habit 3. Lying from You 2. Numb 1. Somewhere I Belong
First band I ever found on my own when i was 6, still to this day my favorite nu metal album and just one of my overall top picks. If anyone hasn't checked out the making of video for it i highly recommend it its on TH-cam
This is a perfect 10/10, 5/5, whatever you want to call it album for me. It's one of my favorites of all time, like you, this ranking is hard 12. Hit the Floor 11. Session 10. Somewhere I Belong 9. Nobody's Listening 8. Faint (Faint being this low tells you how much I love this album) 7. From the Inside 6. Don't Stay 5. Easier to Run 4. Lying From You 3. Figure.09 2. Breaking the Habit 1. Numb (I know, it's the cliche/basic answer and I used to rank it lower than I do now. But it's one of my favorite songs, it's iconic for a reason, and I'd be lying if I didn't put it here.)
I know a lot of people dismissed that #1 because it didn't sound like the rest of the album but I really hope those people eventually gave it a second look. The song you picked as #2 would probably be my #1. Excellent stuff.
I remember Somewhere I Belong being a massive deal back then, as we all sought it out on Kazaa and limewire. It's on so many of my cdr mixes and totally worth all the junk that infected my dad's desktop. 😅😂 HSP as well, thanks for that term! I think I will look into ways of helping me deal with things that really get to me.
Really good list Jon, Linkin Park are one of my favourite bands of all time and Meteora is one of my favourite albums of all time. I love all the songs in this album. Here's my list of all the songs in Meteora from my least favourite to favourite. 13. Foreward 12. Session 11. Hit The Floor 10. Lying From You 9. Nobody's Listening 8. Somewhere I Belong 7. Figure.09 6. From The Inside 5. Don't Stay 4. Easier To Run 3. Numb 2. Faint 1. Breaking The Habit What do you think of the list?
Ranking these videos is like trying to decide the best out of songs rated at least 90/100. And I fully agree about Figure.09, I feel like it's the most underapreciated song by Linkin Park and I'd probably fight to put it in my Top 3 along with Breaking the Habit and Don't Stay.
Third favorite album only beaten by Hybrid Theory and To Pimp A Butterfly. This album also came out three weeks after I was born, so I have that special connection too :D
I’ll said it before and I’ll say it again. This album is the one of if not greatest album of all time. And I still genuinely think LP never made a bad album including One More Light, considering I am starting to get into more pop type music. Every album they’ve made start to finish is amazing. My ranking of Meteora is 1: foreword, don’t stay, somewhere I belong lying from you hit the floor easier to run faint Figure .09 breaking the habit, from the inside nobody’s listening, session and numb. Every track on this album stands out in its own way and it’s perfect. ♾️/10 and even that’s not a good enough rating to give this album
Fun fact: I have a friend with a birthday on THIS DAY. He was actually born a year later but, SAME DAY. Crazy right? Now, I am errible at ranking, but I can give you my favorites. They are Somewhere I Belong, Hit the Floor, Faint, and Numb. Of course, I love all the other songs too, but these ones are my favorites.
Interesting ranking. Mine is: 13. Foreword 12. Session 11. Nobody's listening 10. Hit the floor 9. Numb 8. Breaking the habit 7. Somewhere i belong 6. From the inside 5. Easier to run 4. Lying from you 3. Don't stay 2. Faint 1. Figure.09 Can't wait for 20th anniversary album to come out
This is a life changing album for me and it's in my top 5 of all time, so this was really hard to rank but here it is: 12. Hit the Floor 11. Session 10. From the Inside 9. Lying From You 8. Somewhere I Belong 7. Numb 6. Figure.09 5. Don't Stay 4. Nobody's Listening 3. Faint 2. Easier to Run 1. Breaking The Habit
I feel like Breaking the Habit was the most important song for me to understand the band Papercut was the first song I ever listened to from the band, and I had that same feeling hearing them for the first time This will always be one of the best albums of all time. I cant even pick a favourite lol
Breaking the Habit deserves the top spot but my favorite tracks have always been Hit the Floor and Nobody's Listening. Least favorite is definitely Easier to Run. For me it jist has a very stagnant feel, whoch is probably intentional but jist doesnt work well for me. Meteora is my favorite LInkin Park album. It really got me through a lot, long after its release. Thanks for always being honest in your videos Jon. It means the world.
Gosh this literally is my favorite album of all time it would be sooooo hard to rank all of these songs from worst to best. But I might attempt 😂 I feel like it would change a lot but this is what I’m feeling rn 1. Faint 2. Breaking The Habit 3. From The Inside 4. Somewhere I belong 5. Lying From You 6. Easier To Run (Gosh I really want to put this higher, Very Underrated) 7. Numb 8. Don’t Stay 9. Figure.09 10. Nobody’s Listening 11. Hit The Floor 12. Session All these songs are top tier LP I love every single one, idk how you did this jon.🤘🏻
1. Lying From You 2. Faint 3. From the Inside 4. Figure 0.9 5. Somewhere I Belong 6. Dont Stay 7. Breaking the Habbit 8. Numb 9. Nobody's Listening 10. Hit the Floor 11. Easier to Run 12. Session 13. Foreword Love every song on the album, this is just how I'd rank it
This was the first album I was ever hyped for ahead of its release and I got it on its second day out because kid me was bad in school that day and my mom wouldn’t take me to Sam Goody. Missed out on some of the launch day swag but I still listened to that CD a shitton so…
My Meteora Ranking: 1. Breaking the Habit 2. Lying from You 3. Faint 4. Somewhere I Belong 5. Don’t Stay 6. Easier to Run 7. Numb 8. Figure.09 9. Nobody’s Listening 10. From the Inside 11. Hit the Floor 12. Session 13. Foreword Best Linkin Park album and a 10/10 classic!
@@stormyandsnowy He already ranked HT

BTW, I love Fighting Myself.
fighting myself is probably another unfinished meteora song and that makes sense, because it sounds like a more modernized version of Papercut
Easier to Run is one of the defining tracks of the 2000s, the intro is incredible
Absolutely goated album
I love Lost and Fighting Myself too
“Somewhere I Belong” at #10 just proves how awesome Meteora is...
Personally it’s my favourite Linkin Park song. 🤟
I can’t stop listening to this album. The more I listen the better it gets. Timeless record. My all time favourite songs on this shit “Lying From You”
6:48 as an HSP myself, thank you for coming out about this. It gives me hope that there are other people like me out there who feel this pain of easily being overwhelmed everyday and considering that I went through a friend breakup earlier this month because of my HSP it gives me hope that I can be comfortable in my own skin. It’s, also, crazy that this album landed on my Mom’s birthday. Happy Birthday to both!
Faint’s bridge always gets me hyped! The whole song is hype, in general.

Who doesn't like?
@@AThousandSunsinphysics I think Pheonix mentioned one time he didn't like it and Mike recently said on twitter it was his least favorite
Easier to Run is top 3 in regards to underrated Linkin Park songs, up there with The Little Things Give You Away and Robot Boy
@@lawrencerubin8719 and the messenger for me
@@AThousandSunsinphysics what a gem of a song
7:20 Breaking The Habit is my favorite song, along with Waiting For The End. They're quite contradictory, but the way they touch me...
After all this time I still find it difficult to decide which track is my favorite on this album but Nobody's Listening is a good candidate. But yeah obviously Breaking the Habit is legendary and I can't even try to argue about that top spot. Nice to see some love for Faint, too!
It's hard to rank linkin park songs, but not putting figure 09 at least top 3 is a crime
My ranking:
13. Foreword
12. Session
11. Somewhere I Belong
10. Numb
9. Lying From You
8. Nobody’s Listening
7. Don’t Stay
6. Hit The Floor
5. From The Inside
4. Figure.09
3. Faint
2. Easier To Run
1. Breaking The Habit
Ranking the songs of Meteora Is like trying to find out which of the kittens to adopt are the cutest.
I’m glad to see Don’t Stay and Figure 09 higher ranked. Honestly Don’t Stay is my favorite off the album, highly underrated LP song.
Anyways, my rankings are as follows:
1. Breaking the Habit
2. Easier to Run
3. Numb
4. Figure .09 (this song is so underrated...)
5. Somewhere I Belong
6. Don't Stay
7. Lying From You
8. Nobody’s Listening
9. Hit the Floor
10. From the Inside
11. Faint (youtube amvs ruined this one for me a bit)
12. Session
13. Foreword
I totally agree with breaking the habit being number one. It was one of the key songs that got me into Linkin Park, along with New Divide, and Leave out all the rest.
greatest album of all time
I couldn't even be more grateful that I discovered them through all the singles from this album, especially Breaking The Habit.
13. Foreword
12. Session
11. Breaking The Habit (Has never hit me the same way it has hit other people, but I still dig it a lot)
10. Easier To Run (Same as with Breaking The Habit)
9. Numb (I have never found it to be one of my favorite singles by them, but it still has a special place in my heart)
8. Nobody's Listening (Probably my favorite hiphop-Shinoda song that they have made along with When They Come For Me)
7. Hit The Floor (My only complaint with this song is that I compare it to Don't Stay and Lying From You since it comes on right after the latter and I just think those go harder. But whenever I hear it standalone, I love it)
6. From The Inside (It has grown on me the past few years. I just saw it as an ok song by them to begin with, but it just stays in my head and my body no matter how long it's been since I've last heard it. Like I keep wanting to come back to it)
5. Figure 09 (This song along with my top 4 are all S-tier to me)
4. Somewhere I Belong (I have had the same experience with this song as with From The Inside)
3. Faint (It was my favorite on this album for a long time. The only reason it isn't anymore is that it has slightly shrunk on me, while the two others have grown on me a lot)
2. Don't Stay (This and Lying From You are probably both in my top 5 favorite LP songs. And they are also probably my favorite heavy songs by them. Only Guilty All The Same and A Line In The Sand can compare for me)
1. Lying From You (I see myself in the way you described your experience with this song. This song goes so fucking hard. It has been my favorite LP song for about a year now, and I can see it stay on that place for a while. At some point I will eventually get tired of it, but not yet...)
Just blasted this album this morning. Yup, still holds up!
Easier to Run, Breaking the Habit and From the Inside are all longtime favorites of mine!
When people ask what are some of my favorite albums of all time or to you albums that are like a perfect 10/10, no skips, and for me Meteora is always up there for me. Easily their best album.
This album is in my top 5 of all time and you definitely did it justice here.
I used to think Meteora was overrated because I had listened to it so many times but that's changed. It's their best album by far.
Lying From You and this album in general became an instant favorite of mine when I started listening to this band
Great video man! Love seeing “Don’t Stay” towards the top. One of my favorite opening tracks ever.
1° Faint
2° Figure.09

Idk Meteora is impossible to be ranked imo
My personal favorite linkin park song is somewhere I belong
Its cruel and if not hilarious, that Linkin Park was lumped in the same box as Simple Plan at some point for their lyricism. Yes they both has similar themes on their lyrics but the lyrics on HT and Meteora days of LP is way much vulnerable and less whiny (yes, LP is not whiny to begin with even without the retrospect on Chester's fate).
For instance, Perfect and Numb are about the same thing, but one is not like the other.
Easier to Run
Figure 09
Somewhere I Belong
Breaking the Habit
Numb
Faint
Don't Stay
Lying from you
From the Inside
Nobody's Listening
Hit the floor
Easily, My favourite album of all time
Love your video bro keep up the good work my dude love dude
This was an excellent depiction for such an incredibly well evolved sophomore album of it's time! I shared the same feels of adaptive control from Easier to Run and creative elements the riffage tracks shared too. Love You LP. :) Great Work Jon!!
HIT THE FLOOR IS LP’s BEST SONG 😳 I’ve always thought this one was so underrated! Love it so much
I love this album so much I could repeatedly and randomly put any track in order and that would be my ranking lol.
My top 5:
1. Somewhere I Belong
2. Easier To Run
3. Numb
4. Faint
13. Foreword
12. Session
11. From the Inside
10. Nobody's Listening
9. Hit the Floor
8. Lying from You
7. Somewhere I Belong
6. Don't Stay
5. Figure.09
4. Easier to Run
3. Faint
2. Breaking the Habit
1. Numb
Linkin Park is my favorite band of all time, and my favorite album by them is actually A Thousand Suns, but Meteora and Hybrid Theory aren't far behind. Definitely a little bit of a dropoff with the other 4 albums but I still love all of them, including One More Light (I know crazy)
Meteora is a freaken masterpiece
Happy 20th anniversary to this album! If you asked me to rank it, I can't think of ranking this worst to best as the whole album has no bad songs. But my favorite song on that album is Breaking the Habit as it shows their transition and teaser of moving away from Nu Metal and more going in an Alternative Rock sound. Plus, this album came out the same month Fallen and Sing the Sorrow was released.
I love how two different people who love every song on this album would still rank the songs so differently from each other. Loved this video so much even though I think putting hit the floor at #11 is a crime.
also we now have the song Lost , that was originally recorded for this album but didn't make the cut
The album is as old as me lmaoo, i love this album so much
Love this album (I was born in the same year when it was released)
Thank you for reviewing this album. Linkin park is my favorite of all time. I love all the albums. This album is my favorite of all of them. Honestly Figure.09 and Breaking the Habit are my favorite of the album but it is a complete album. All their albums are complete albums.
While our rankings aren't the same, I absolutely agree with your number 1! Can't believe these gems have been around for 20 years.
breaking the habit is my favorite song of linkin park is so good and also easier to run is one of my favorits
Great list! One of my all-time favorite albums. I still remember hearing Somewhere I Belong for the first time when I was 8 in the backseat of my mom's car. I would rank the songs like this:
1. Lying From You
2. Numb
3. Breaking The Habit
4. Don't Stay
5. Somewhere I Belong
6. Figure.09
7. Easier To Run
8. Faint
9. From The Inside
10. Nobody's Listening
11. Hit The Floor
12. Session
13. Foreward
Meteora and Linkin Park as a whole were my gateway to rock and metal so even if nowadays my tastes mainly lie elsewhere I will always have a soft spot for them. Can't wait to get my hands on the Meteora 20th anniversary edition.
As for my ranking I would probably go with:
12. Easier to Run
11. Nobody's Listening
10. Figure.09
9. From the Inside
8. Faint
7. Hit the Floor
6. Session
5. Don't Stay
4. Breaking the Habit
3. Lying from You
2. Numb
1. Somewhere I Belong
I absolutely LOVE Meteora!!! It was truly my first absolute exposure to the band, although my first album I owned was Reanimation
It's one of my favorites of all time, like you, this ranking is hard
12. Hit the Floor
11. Session
10. Somewhere I Belong
9. Nobody's Listening
8. Faint (Faint being this low tells you how much I love this album)
7. From the Inside
6. Don't Stay
5. Easier to Run
4. Lying From You
3. Figure.09
2. Breaking the Habit
1. Numb (I know, it's the cliche/basic answer and I used to rank it lower than I do now. But it's one of my favorite songs, it's iconic for a reason, and I'd be lying if I didn't put it here.)
Faint, Hit the Floor, Don’t Stay, and Figure .09 produced a level of anger and angst in me as a kid that cannot be expressed lol
W video keep it up R.i.p Chester😢
Really good list Jon, Linkin Park are one of my favourite bands of all time and Meteora is one of my favourite albums of all time. I love all the songs in this album. Here's my list of all the songs in Meteora from my least favourite to favourite.
13. Foreward
12. Session
11. Hit The Floor
10. Lying From You
9. Nobody's Listening
8. Somewhere I Belong
7. Figure.09
6. From The Inside
5. Don't Stay
4. Easier To Run
3. Numb
2. Faint
1. Breaking The Habit
What do you think of the list?
Very nice, good ranking
@@artvjon thank you .
LP Forever
I’ll said it before and I’ll say it again. This album is the one of if not greatest album of all time. And I still genuinely think LP never made a bad album including One More Light, considering I am starting to get into more pop type music. Every album they’ve made start to finish is amazing. My ranking of Meteora is
1: foreword, don’t stay, somewhere I belong lying from you hit the floor easier to run faint Figure .09 breaking the habit, from the inside nobody’s listening, session and numb.
Every track on this album stands out in its own way and it’s perfect.
♾️/10 and even that’s not a good enough rating to give this album
Love it man great album review
My favorite song of all time is Faint. I love the energy that Chester brought to the song so much.
Factual
Fun fact: I have a friend with a birthday on THIS DAY. He was actually born a year later but, SAME DAY. Crazy right? Now, I am errible at ranking, but I can give you my favorites. They are Somewhere I Belong, Hit the Floor, Faint, and Numb. Of course, I love all the other songs too, but these ones are my favorites.
One of my favourite albums of all time and probably my favourite LP album a no skip album too
Interesting ranking. Mine is:
13. Foreword
12. Session
11. Nobody's listening
10. Hit the floor
9. Numb
8. Breaking the habit
7. Somewhere i belong
6. From the inside
5. Easier to run
4. Lying from you
3. Don't stay
2. Faint
1. Figure.09
Can't wait for 20th anniversary album to come out
It’d be interesting to fold in the mostly completed Lost Demos & see where they’d fall on the Meteora list. Lost, fighting myself & massive are great!
This is a life changing album for me and it's in my top 5 of all time, so this was really hard to rank but here it is:
12. Hit the Floor
11. Session
10. From the Inside
9. Lying From You
8. Somewhere I Belong
7. Numb
6. Figure.09
5. Don't Stay
4. Nobody's Listening
3. Faint
2. Easier to Run
1. Breaking The Habit
I feel like Breaking the Habit was the most important song for me to understand the band
Papercut was the first song I ever listened to from the band, and I had that same feeling hearing them for the first time
This will always be one of the best albums of all time. I cant even pick a favourite lol
hit the floor sounds like a rage against the machine song
I agree with your first and second choice. Please upload more LP reaction vids
Ohh dude having Hit the Floor at the bottom hurts me. It's like top 3 for me
Breaking the Habit deserves the top spot but my favorite tracks have always been Hit the Floor and Nobody's Listening.
Happy 20 years Meteora!
My toxic trait is I can't except anything but the number 1 spot for numb on literally any greatest song related list ever
Gosh this literally is my favorite album of all time it would be sooooo hard to rank all of these songs from worst to best. But I might attempt 😂 I feel like it would change a lot but this is what I’m feeling rn
1. Faint
2. Breaking The Habit
3. From The Inside
4. Somewhere I belong
5. Lying From You
6. Easier To Run (Gosh I really want to put this higher, Very Underrated)
7. Numb
8. Don’t Stay
9. Figure.09
10. Nobody’s Listening
11. Hit The Floor

Love every song on the album, this is just how I'd rank it
This was the first album I was ever hyped for ahead of its release and I got it on its second day out because kid me was bad in school that day and my mom wouldn’t take me to Sam Goody. Missed out on some of the launch day swag but I still listened to that CD a shitton so…

Best Linkin Park album and a 10/10 classic!
Faint is probably my favorite linkin park song ever , I can only imagine you rapping it for us 😂
