Having the autism, every culture is foreign to me, so all are equally difficult to interpret. What this means, in effect, is that I'm a lot better at communicating with foreigners than my colleagues because they do not expect me to understand their cultural subtext at all and I've had to become very good at adapting and learning new cultural very quickly.
I'm also autistic and I live in Brazil. Sartre was right, hell is other people. The culture who comes closer to my needs are the Finns. They're quiet and hate small talk.
I read the Culture Map. It talks about work culture within different societies all over the world. It also lists a spectrum of where these countries lie compared to each other regarding the concept the author is talking about. Pretty much within all of the cultural concepts the author talks about, Asian countries are literally on the opposite end of the spectrum. Like for example, the propensity to listen rather than talk. So yeah. Asian culture is the opposite of the entire world.

Great summary of the book. Plus I love the fact that you included a manager in a wheel chair. 👍
