I am a retired librarian in the US and would love to see a feature on interesting libraries in historic homes. Books that are old are not necessarily rare and vice versa. What did people collect that's unique or extensive on a given topic? Thanks 😘

I love this idea of covering houses with specific topics. Royal connections, ghosts, servant lives/duties (in particular showing how things used to be done with old equipment/techniques) are all very interesting subjects. It might also be interesting to do a show on architects or architectural style and craftsman who built and crafted the houses/castles you include. Thank you for sharing this marvelous content! 🌷

Love the idea. However, if you are only going to do two episodes per historic house, I hope they will be longer videos. Otherwise, I don't think it will do them justice. And yes, the attics & basements/cellars and outbuildings are extremely interesting. As well as their gardens of course.

I took a two week class at Oxford University through the Smithsonian in 1985. We visited Chaselton House, which had untouched Jacobean Architecture and decor. This home is now a National Trust property. I hope that you will visit this location as an example of the architecture and how the lack of funds can impact maintenance and repairs. This home obviously had an impact on me, since I clearly remember visiting all of these years later.

I'm fairly certain that there are robes to be worn according to rank as well. I'm an American whose Ancestry is British and I love all things British. My family are faily recent immigrants to the US (20th Century) and I'm in touch with many of my family in England. Please go in depth of the role the house (or it's owners) played in it's community at the time it was being built. What was the town's industry at the time, why did the owner choose that location, how did they support or contribute to their community at them time... I love hearing the house history but it's so much better to see the perspective of it's role in its larger community.

How do you live your life around these pieces…enjoying them while still caring for them? I actually liked your old format because it was so different than what other TV shows about historic houses have done. I think the main differences that make your show unique and enjoyable is Julie being a historic home owner talking with fellow historic home owners; no other show offers that *shared personal perspective*. And it was unique they let you sleep several nights there (especially the houses that aren't hotels). This allowed you to really get to know the place and people, and show it at different times of day and weather. Your series felt like watching someone reconnect with distant relatives, rather than a TV host quickly interviewing at multiple houses to create a series. So as you make changes, I hope these unique qualities will remain intact.
The topics you mentioned, like ghosts and servants, are all interesting. I think they would be most interesting first told within the context of their own house's episode. Then when this season is over, you could do themed recap episodes, for example, reusing the ghost scenes from each house, with new commentary scenes filmed in your home to link all the houses' ghosts together. You could even show extended cuts that didn't make the individual house episodes. This would be a great way to get more episodes out of each shoot and tell these stories from multiple perspectives. :-)

THANK YOU for educating this South Carolina dweller to all things UK. Scotland is in my soul. My thought, whenever I see a beautiful old manor or castle (that is still intact), is 'what do the owners do to keep that place going?" I know you and Luke have worked so hard with and for Mapperton. What do these other owners do? Surely 'family money' doesn't cut the expenses. Where do they get the funds to keep these magnificent places from crumbling? What a lot of work and thought I would imagine.... again referencing you and Luke.. Have great fun on your new adventure,, I will be gleefully tagging along with you.

Some dives into specific architects would be interesting (following their career thru several houses) or a similar progression on the development of successive architectural styles. And a similar review of the evolution of garden design. Overall, as I read back over my comment, I would find historical context and evolution of interest, understanding how the houses were used, how the community that supported them worked, how they evolved.

I would love to hear about some of the ruins and abandoned historic houses and castles, and what you know of them. There's something beautiful but very sad and moving about them. They used to be a hub of life, then something happened to them and now they're alone, sometimes for hundreds of years.

I’d like to see a map of some kind when you visit houses, so I can get a spatial awareness. How close it it to London, to the borders, to the sea? We map nerds would appreciate that.

I would love the servant point of view. Plus the Addington scandal. I love this idea. I wish I lived there so I can see these homes. Flying over them to Germany I saw so many of these homes.

Julia should be an actress. She is so good. Comfortable with the camera and natural speakers.

I would be very interested in learning more about the servants perspective and learning more about quirky aspects of these historic houses (secret rooms, dungeons, tunnels, etc).
