Most fans who buy movie knives could care less about the steel. For them owning a piece that resembles the hero blade is enough for hanging on the wall of their apartment or mom and dads basement with a couple of nails.

Correct, Most will get them for display. Besides there are far more knives out there suited for use. For a collector it is a reasonable price to pay for a display item.

That is actually tempting. 8cr13 is not too bad. That oversized guard is a little bit of an eyesore. Overall it looks like a better deal than some of the old 440 versions of the first three or four Rambo replicas. I always wanted to collect the Rambo knives but the low-quality materials and the high price kept me away. I did pick up the 2008 Rambo knife. It was under $80 and supposedly in 1095. So I have at least one.

Been a high end knife collector for over 3 decades now.Outside I own of the Marfione Interceptor tributes (around 3,5k$ now) I haven’t cared much for the Rambos.But! when I saw the German/Italian/American made Dietmar Phol’s (Pholforce) I had to have one.Got the Mk 8 from Heinie Haines and the knife has great steel,fit and finish.Would work in the field..which most of serious knife collectors would want,knifes who will cut;)This knife which is shown here can not be compared 👀✌🏼
Come on, practically all the collectors of knives never use them or totally never cut anything. So the actual quality of the steel is pointless. If you like the look great. It you have to have true to life again great, but if you don’t want to cut anything other than paper any steel will do ..

There's nothing wrong with 8Cr13MoV, as long as it is disclosed and has a good heat treatment. SOG has been using AUS-8 in their fixed blades forever. AUS-8 is chemically indistinguishable from 8Cr13MoV, as far as I know. Gideons did some heavy duty testing of a SOG Bowie and didn't have any issues with it chipping or anything. Also I think TNP tested the now discontinued CRKT Bowie that was in 8CR13MoV.

Great looking knife
There is a Sylvester Stallone official version of this the heartstopper and it’s movie accurate. In the movie the handle of the knife is a yellowish sandy not the green handle.

1/4 inch combat knife " it's heavy " .. metallurgy must be your hobby, most go for hardness and can it retake an edge. And if it didn't say rambo it would cost 1/2 as much.

DP designed the Boker 2020 magnum collection and it’s a great knife in D2. The sheath is a piece of crap but the rest is worth the $100 I paid.

This one is just not accurate . The real one in the Sly shop , much higher quality too
