Hi mam, I don't understand hindi. But by looking on the comment I can easily sense how great your review is. I am a first time car buyer and i20 ivt is my predominant and primary choice. However i am bit hesitant if this is actually better than manual in terms of maintenance, Few claim that it would take 3.5L incase the gear box is worn out. Your feedback would be really helpful, expecting your response.
Hi sir, glad that you took that much time to write so many questions. I would take one by one: i20 IVT is a great choice for the first time buyers. You will hear a lot of things about it’s less mileage (fuel average - kmpl) but if you drive with a light foot then you can get good out of it. Second thing - It’s far better than manual and it’s a boon for those people who are lazy drivers and driving a lot here and there. Manual is for those enthusiasts who drive less but enjoys driving. Third: I had been using Hyundais for the last 10 years that too automatic (CVT and IVT) and never faced any issues except AC issues that is prominent in northern areas because of too hot climate in June. Rest assured that these gear boxes are made to last long 20 years or more. I had Verna and drove that for 9 years and now someone else is driving but gear box is like a new one. Keep in mind that get gear box oil changed as per service/maintenance schedule. IVT or CVT are far better, old, tried and tested technologies which have been launched in India in the last decade or so. Fourth: Hill Hold - Normally IVT/CVT cars don’t roll backward on the decline slope. So according to me it does not need a hill hold. However, in case of sloping downward surface, yes, you will have to use breaks to keep car halted. Let me know if i missed anything. Happy to answer more questions.
@@ShalinisVlogs hey thanks for such a detailed explanation, One thing to clarify, Example : I am on a deep slope and there are cars in front and back, I am holding my break to stop rolling back. Hey, thanks for this video. So what can i expect in a city like delhi?
Glanza and Baleno are almost same. But i20 is of different league. It comes with 8 speed iVT gearbox. In city, i20 will give the least mileage of all. I have noticed Hyundai cars give lesser than Maruti it could be because of car weight and sheet used to make these cars. If you are looking at 6 airbags (safety) then you can consider the quality of metal sheet used to make these cars. 1-2 kmpl will not pinch a lot but car should be safe enough. I hope I made some sense.

A very informative video :-) , Just a question , is there a lag felt between gear shifts . I understand that there will be a bit lag but is it noticeable unlike in other AMT cars ? Or is I20 IVT better compared to others (in terms of lag)
Rubber band effect is bare minimum or unnoticeable. I own Verna CVT as well and in comparison to Verna it’s (i20) shifts are very smooth. In fact you can’t tell in which gear it’s running.
Hi, I have booked i20 sportz ivt (white). Still just have few doubts. 1)Is the full black interior feels claustrophobic? 2) Does the ivt feels noising while bumper to bumper traffic due to sudden change of gear shifts 3)How do you feel its gear shifting, i mean is it shifting the gears at correct intervals or take it to high intervals? 4) How it feels in pot wholes roads and speed bumps?
Thanks for the questions. Please find my answers inline. 1. It does not feel claustrophobic rather it gives me an old look. I always keep comparing with my Verna and Alcazar which have got great interiors. 2. IVT is silent and you even don't feel when it shifts. 3. Gear shifting is smooth and quick. It does not carry rubber band effect like older CVTs. It changes immediately around 2k RPM. 4. Small bumps are absorbed well but if there is a bigger pot holes then it will give you an absurd sound dhammmmmm. Suspensions are tuned for city driving and kept softer side that could be the reason of that sound. I hope I am able to answer your questions. Thanks

Thanks for this i20 ivt review, I have lugged 1600 km and 1st service done but I am getting only 9.5 Ci km/ltr. City drive condition Bengaluru is it ok, how to improve mileage
Bengaluru is crowded than Chandigarh that might be the possible reason of less mileage. But keeping revs below 2000 then it might give you at least 13. For a day or two notice the real-time average and try to keep it above 20 while driving if not driving stop and go traffic.
At last, sensible review for ivt. Thanks man n shalini :). Btw I have qstn if he can answer. 1) How's the acceleration, I mean as u said it's underpowered, but then any approx idea of the time taken reaching 100? 2) Does manual shift help cover its underpower(ness)? like we if we shift at 4000 rpm or so? Also eagerly waiting for your hill review .Sorry for qstns, but I will soon receive the (same specs) car so curious to know more.
Really appreciate your questions. These questions mean a lot to me and my husband (man 😀). 1. Acceleration is linear if we drive it in D mode. As soon as you shift it to S it becomes rev friendly. 2. Even if you don’t take manual controls then S would give you sufficient acceleration to overtake a long trailer running on GT road. 3. We didn’t note exact time how much does it take to reach 100 but here are the views. In D mode it would take a lot of time to reach 100 but in S mode it becomes revv friendly and reaches 100 in less than 14-15 seconds.
We have not taken it to hills yet because Himachal has put some restrictions but soon we are planning a trip and this time video is going to be far better in terms of quality.
Very nice and informative, Iam looking to take one, unable to decide between ivt and IMT, which one do you suggest me, I want a reliable engine, thanks in advance

It is not a "power less" gaadi ... It is just that the nature of a CVT (IVT) transmission is like that... you will not get instant acceleration, you will only get revs but no acceleration, it is called "rubber band effect"... This is the nature of CVT , which many will not like !

Rubber band effect is bare minimum or unnoticeable. I own Verna CVT as well and in comparison to Verna it’s (i20) shifts are very smooth. In fact you can’t tell in which gear it’s running.
AMTs can’t be compared with this IVT. AMTs are noisy and jerky. I have driven Dzire AMT and you can easily tell when it’s shifting.
@@ShalinisVlogs , Thank you 😊
Precisely what i was looking for, thanks a ton for answering:)
Hi, I have booked i20 sportz ivt (white). Still just have few doubts.
1)Is the full black interior feels claustrophobic?
2) Does the ivt feels noising while bumper to bumper traffic due to sudden change of gear shifts
3)How do you feel its gear shifting, i mean is it shifting the gears at correct intervals or take it to high intervals?
Thanks

@@ShalinisVlogs Thanks a ton. It was Informative...
And congratulations 🎉 on becoming the part of Hyundai family. We own 3 Hyundai. 😀

If you drive in city more then you should go for ivt and if you want to test something new then go for iMT. iVT or CVT had been in existence for almost a decade so I would prefer iVT.
@@ShalinisVlogs I came to know that the low end torque in 1.2 engine is not good, what about 1 ltr turbo IMT, is the turbo engine reliable, I can live with IMT provided the turbo engine is good, refined and not loud in noise as the 1.2.
@@bhargavp6774 I've test driven 1.0 turbo iMT. The engine is very smooth and ample powerful. If you can line with iMT you should definitely go for it over IVT. I am myself confused between the two because I want fully automatic transmission but cannot live with a very underpowered engine. If you have already bought one, please share your reviews.
Waw very nice

What mileage ?
13-14 kmpl
Hi. If you could mention regarding behaviour of ivt uphill would be helpful.
Because both in home and office we have to drive uphill the ramp to reach the parking
If you put it in sports mode then it would be effortless drive. I have taken it to Himachal hills so found it all good.
Very good shearing big like friends stay connected

Yes it’s good. But I am having some issues recently. Shortly bringing a video.
Nice review. Planning to buy same. What's the mileage you are getting, city and highway?
In city traffic getting 14-15 and on highway it gives around 19-21 if driven at 70-85 kmph
@@ShalinisVlogs thanks for the reply
I have I20Asta ivt, the city milage is just 8.0 km/l and highway its giving 14 to 15 km max

thanks for the useful review. I am planning to buy ivt sportz petrol variant soon. could u please let me know the mileage in city traffic?
Thanks for your question. City mileage is between 14 to 18 kmph. If traffic is heavy then 14 - 15 otherwise 16 -18 kmph.
Nice features 👌👌. Good sharing 👌👌

It is not a "power less" gaadi ... It is just that the nature of a CVT (IVT) transmission is like that... you will not get instant acceleration, you will only get revs but no acceleration, it is called "rubber band effect"... This is the nature of CVT , which many will not like !
I had been driving Verna automatic so comparison always go on and Verna was quite fast.
@@ShalinisVlogs - Verna automatic is better
