VIRA was used during the 2015 Am World Championship, so there used to be excellent professional tee signs, but time, squirrels and weather have take their toll unfortunately.
My ideal ratings rule, as I have given it a fair amount of thought recently, MA4 = 0-800 rated. MA3 = 801-850. MA2 = 851-900. MA1 = 900-999. MPO = 1,000+ (once achieving this rated you may no longer play Amateur.) *Before playing in an A-Tier tournament you must have a prior rated tournament. You may sign up in a tournament above your rating if you would like to and your division is filled.
Just came across your channel. Great camera work, great explanation of holes. You seem like a humble dude and not annoying like most other disc golf channels. New subscriber.
Can't help with the sandbagging situation. I don't play many tournaments either. Decent amount of them that I've played. I ended up with toxic individuals in the group. Examples being, playing loud music. Didn't ask the group if it was okay. One guy got upset like Nikko Lacastro many times. Lastly had a guy who was a real stickler about the rules. Overall not the vibes I'm looking for when I go to play a round or two of disc golf. Thanks for the uploads! Love seeing Michigan courses I haven't played yet.
I think when a round becomes all about the rules, that’s not why I’m there either. And music is so tricky! Hard to get some that most people like. I played my first tournament this summer, it was a blast but only because it was doubles and my partner was a good fit. Way more fun to play with people who like to have fun while keeping a good pace and want to consistently improve their game.
Hunter my guy that's a game of disc golf 🥏💯⛓️ 300+ each hole so far .. . 👊🏋️ respect.. Let the discs get there full flight and breath 🫁 while it's in the air while time stops
People want the dopamine of "winning" even if it's in the bottom division, rather than pushing to be in the highest division they can achieve. It's the current generation that was given participation trophies, making the trophy more important than the performance.
Was it AM states? That tournament always has big baggers. The rating system does a pretty ok job. It can be slow to update for someone who gets better quickly though.
Looks like a nice course. I always hate when water is right next to the basket. Especially on an ace run. I've never played in a tournament but I'd imagine MA4 would still be a higher skill level than I currently have. It's completely possible that MA4 has the shortest layout so people want to play in it for a shorter course but in todays age of everyone wins and gets a trophy doesn't help either
Ratings for tournaments are MA4 0-850 MA3 850-900 MA2 900-950 MA1 950-1000 Sandbagging happens, especially in MA4 and MA3. MA4 is just treated as an "easy win" and MA3 is always getting flooded with players from MA2. MA3 throws shorts, MA2 throws longs. Getting past 900 rated rounds is very hard when you usually throw short tees. It is brutal, and people suck. But ratings are ratings. Hope this helps.
For sanctioned PDGA events, its MA1 935+ MA2 < 935 MA3 < 900 MA4 < 850 This isn't your last round rating though. This is your current PDGA rating, which only comes out once per month on about the 10th. It also is based on the last 12 months worth of rounds, although most recent rounds count double. So a person could be averaging rated rounds that will eventually push them to the next division, but it may take awhile for their PDGA official rating to catch up. One of the issues with lower division amateur players is consistency. They might play a single round at 950+, and play their next round at 750. I think there may be some TD's who just don't check and let players with high ratings slip through. But overall, I think they do their best.
Love the follow rabbit on 7. Also glad you didn't go roller
Glad you enjoyed that one haha!

Very solid opinion and hard to disagree!
I appreciate the thorough review of the shot shapes and options you give for each hole.
Glad you enjoy it
Awesome to see this. Throwing there on Saturday.
Good luck !
You scared the crap out of that bunny 🐰 😅
Six foot five, or five foot six? 😂
Who's worried about the details anyway lol

@@ShaneAlan1 thank you so much! The focus of the channel has and always will be the courses and the fun this game brings to people!
Hole 10!!! Sandbaggers are the worst!
this is my LITTERAL home course. LOVE TO SEE IT!
It's a good one to have!

Well said man, well said!
Nice round! Anyone who ventures into the dark water on the right side of hole 16 is welcome to my Axiom Crave if they can find it 😆
A local told me people from Indian come up and dive and sell back home!
@@tossingplastic haha if they want to dive in that water, they've earned it

Definitely is easy to hop to a lower bracket with hopes of winning. Not exactly fair and your take is solid

05:17 #5 is the long tee pad, just FYI in case someone is watching this for reference for a tournament, etc.
Thank you for that! Tournament viewers are a good chunk of mine!

That's a fair assessment as well as some sandbaggers but that is in every sport!
6 foot 5?
If you were 5'8", you wouldn't have hit that branch and it would have dropped for sure.
So, MA4 is
That makes a lot of sense!
