Wow, I love these behind the scenes clips. Dean Martin's voice, outa this world. Had a Ricky Nelson, photo in my room, as a teenager. Great movie. Angie Dickinson, how lovely she was, and young, of course John Wayne, saw most all his movies, in the great old time big movie theaters back then. I loved his movies, with the great cast members. Sigh, such memories!!
My pops was a stuntman on this movie. My pops passed 3 months ago. In the big shootout towards the end of the movie he’s the guy that comes up over the roof gets shot and falls forward and through the porch roof. He did many other stunts however that’s the only time you can see his face.
My dad loved Dean and he was a great vocalist. Daddy didn't respect to many actors but he did him. Angie was so pretty and Hawks was the greatest besides Ford. That Red River was a master piece.
Everything about this clip is wonderful. Angie had fab legs, Dean singing, Duke having a great time with co- actors, Hawks is legendary, Brennon was always a trooper, Missippi....as young as he was here that young man could sing & act. The crew was not distracted by the famous actors behind the scenes. Thats why this movie is top tier. then and now. They are missed very much.

Angie Dickinson had a great part in this and she was superb in it. She was 28 but to be honest she looked a bit older and so could get away with Duke being her love interest and not Colorado, Ricki Nelson. But still, her falling in love with the Sheriff in his 50s and not the young gunster rebel was a bit incongruous. Dean Martin’s acting was also top notch.
That is definitely debatable. Both were top tier artists. I love them both. One of my favorite crooner songs is from Broadway - On the Street Where you Live. Dean did it great. I wish Sinatra had done it, but he never did that I can find.

actually, Nelson played "Colorado" in "Rio Bravo." It was James Caan who later played "Mississippi" in "El Dorado."
