According to Rare, Goldeneye isn't on the list as it wasn't "rare enough" and not like their normal games. Which sounds complete bullshit. Why can't they admit it's licensing?
$30 is definitely a steal, the N64 games on Wii U's virtual console are about $10 each which are a decent price so that's definitely great. Sure not all 30 games are masterpieces but a bunch of them sure are.

My mom and dad literally thought Conkers Bad Fur Day was just Squirrels and Teddy Bears so they bought it for me, not knowing how crazy it was till they watched me played it one day! 🤣

Microsoft initially let them do their thing for about 5 years after buying them from Nintendo, they were disappointed in their performance, and decided to take control of them... thus we got the Rare of today that is known for making Xbox Avatars and Avatar Games as well as Kinect Games. Fortunately, Xbox under Phil Spencer is snapping them back into their senses and realizing the strong IP and legacy that Rare has and greenlit them making actual video games again.
Revamped Stone Dude , don't do it , you can play these games in pc , microsoft made rare (100% new people from microsoft because the original rare that made these games left in 2006 ) they wan't you to do it.

Quite a few quit or moved to playtonic but not all did. *EDIT* well not quite a few employees, but a few are still left.
SAMUROTT 48 Yeah I do seriously think it may be worth a buy. As a PC gamer I generally have no need for a console (Besides Nintendo because of all the exclusives) but I am quite liking the selection of Xbox one collections and games. Games with Gold doesn't hurt either.
The amount of content this collection has is just awesome, but the one thing that kills it for me is only 17 out of the 30 games can be played right off the bat. All the N64 and 360 games (main reason most would buy this thing for) all NEED to be downloaded via online. Why they decided to mandate this is very odd seeing how every other game collections such as the ones for Atari, Midway, Sega have *everything* given right from the get-go, and seeing how if the servers aren't working or if they ever get shut down, that means no Banjo Kazooie, no Conker, no Perfect Dark, no Killer Instinct Gold, and so on and so forth, and the other 13 games will just straight up not be there anymore. That's really disappointing to find out, especially when nobody ever mentions this. A great idea for a game collection, but because of unnecessary requirements just to play some games that came out from the 90's is kind of a let down.
I'm a little disappointed that none of the reviews are spending much time talking about the nes-remix inspired mini-games. Completing little 1 to 2 minute challenges from each game is a blast and a great way to play and learn about the older titles that otherwise might have been ignored as well as a fun new way to experience the newer things.
Don't have an X-box One but I got a copy of Perfect Dark from my grandfather 3 weeks before he died for my birthday. Still one of my favorite games for sentimental reasons. Good video. Also, Conkers is the shit!

i used mainly to follow Polygon (and of course IGN) for all my gaming news...i've been following Gameranx for months now because the production value is WAY up there and the videos give all of the information you need with out being biased or reporting on other bs (cough cough, Polygon). just wanted to letcha guys know that! WOO!
I'm surprised they didn't at least include less compressed audio for Conker, I seem to remember it sounding a LOT better in the original X-Box version. It also looked like the original, but a LITTLE bit better due to things like hair textures being added.
Was never a big fan of CBFD as a game, but the game is pretty funny and Conker is a great protagonist, I just wish the game was less clunky shooting, less shitty racing minigames, less annoying swimming sections, and more tighter platforming sections, after all this wasn't a collectathon like the Banjo-Kazooie games, imo the remake is the better way to play this game
For as much flak as it sometimes gets (And it's not on the Rare Replay for copyright issues with Nintendo), I really enjoyed Starfox Adventures. It was a rather interesting and fresh take. Maybe it could have been better if it remained Dinosaur Planet since people wouldn't have certain expectations about the gameplay, but I still enjoy playing it to this day.
It's good that Conker's is the original and not the Xbox version... though it would have been bonus points if they would have updated the Xbox version to not have the censorship. Pretty wild the Xbox version was censored and the N64 version wasn't LMAO. I wonder why they didn't just properly port the games to XBO though instead of using the 360 emulation layer they've got going.
I'm in nursing school and I don't have a dollar to my name, and despite being fairly cheap, I really wish I could afford this collection. This brings back so many great memories!

Sometimes TH-cam likes to toss channels that you aren't subbed to into your Subscriptions feed and not tell you it is a recommended channel, etc. It didn't do it for me on this channel but it has with a couple others.

Maybe because it has no sound (you will only get sound in the games that are installed seperate from the main rare replay emulator (let's be honest it's an anniversary emulator)) Edit: oh and as you might have noticed that any of the games in the emulator have a border around the screen, so you don't get full screen either Edit2: my bad, turns out there is sound but for some reason if you have chat mixer set to mute all it will mute the game (even though I've never seen it mute any other game before...odd 😕😑)

Public opinion on Ghoulies has basically come back around, and its more widely accepted as worthy entry in Rare's catalog of charming and fun games. My personal guess is that most of the people talking smack about it never actually played it and were likely people who didn't own an Xbox.
But it was censored on Bad Fur Day? so what's the difference? Don't get me wrong, I loved playing BFD all those years ago, but some of the mechanics worked SO much better on Reloaded. To each their own I guess.

Why no Conker Live & Reloaded? That game emulated GREAT on Xbox 360. Any online co-op on Battletoads? Maybe they could patch those in or bring them into the collection through DLC (along w/the Wizards & Warriors games, which also aren't included for some reason).
Guernicaman After playing through CBD again, I'd love to play CLAR now. The graphics were pretty insane for the time, it looks just like a PS3/Xbox 360 game. That alone would be worth it for me.
Ripolt And the game is already Xbox 360 compatible & runs really well on that platform, so like Grabbed By the Ghoulies, it shouldn't be difficult to get it running on Xbox One.
The thing i wonder about is if the backwards compatible games on here will still work in 10 to 15 years when the micrsoft xbox one servers are shut down. I also just read that you need an internet connection for the backwards compatibility to work... if thats the case then anyone without a connection won't be able to play almost a third of the games on the rare replay.
Really thought the collection was good. Though I really feel like Conkers, Banjo, Perfect Dark, Battle Toads and Killer Instinct are the only games worth playing. Though that easily worth the price. I really, really hate how cluttered the games make my game library instead of all being with 1 rare replay icon, and I really dislike how all the newer games aren't on the physical disc and require a download. Wish they didn't do that.
Picked up today at just below 15 bucks. Mostly for Conkers, to complete the set. Got all the BFD/L&R games now complete in box. But I am wondering; is the actual BFD on here, or just the "toned down" Live & Reloaded?
I'd like to know how much space the XBLA versions of Kazooie and Tooie take up. Because I know it's not enough to warrant a separate download. Hell, I'm pretty sure that all these games don't even amount to 50 GB.
***** overall, people prefer the original just because of multiplayer. the aiming controls the n64 version have not aged well and it is very apparent once you make it to the War chapter of the story. If they dont add Live and Reloaded they should at least rework the controls
Call me old fashioned, but I like their nes, snes, and arcade games, RC pro am, 1 and 2, Battletoads, the 3-d ones, are ok, but I was first introduced to rare, by RC Pro am 1, which was a good solid racer, I was there would have been a RC Pro am 3, for the snes... I was hoping for the "Conker: Live and Reloaded", because it's a Xbox Title is basically a HD Remake of the N64 Version of Conker, but Rare said the original version is more "rare" to get....maybe DLC.

Live and reloaded as of April 2018 is backward Compatible on the Xbox One but no achievements because it’s a OG Xbox game

yes. The stamps you get from the Xbox 360 titles are based on how many achievements you have.

Guernicaman After playing through CBD again, I'd love to play CLAR now. The graphics were pretty insane for the time, it looks just like a PS3/Xbox 360 game. That alone would be worth it for me.
Ripolt And the game is already Xbox 360 compatible & runs really well on that platform, so like Grabbed By the Ghoulies, it shouldn't be difficult to get it running on Xbox One.
If I had an Xbox One, I would buy this in a heartbeat, no questions, just for Conker's Bad Fur Day.

The thing i wonder about is if the backwards compatible games on here will still work in 10 to 15 years when the micrsoft xbox one servers are shut down. I also just read that you need an internet connection for the backwards compatibility to work... if thats the case then anyone without a connection won't be able to play almost a third of the games on the rare replay.

Really thought the collection was good. Though I really feel like Conkers, Banjo, Perfect Dark, Battle Toads and Killer Instinct are the only games worth playing. Though that easily worth the price. I really, really hate how cluttered the games make my game library instead of all being with 1 rare replay icon, and I really dislike how all the newer games aren't on the physical disc and require a download. Wish they didn't do that.
Picked up today at just below 15 bucks. Mostly for Conkers, to complete the set. Got all the BFD/L&R games now complete in box. But I am wondering; is the actual BFD on here, or just the "toned down" Live & Reloaded?

I'd like to know how much space the XBLA versions of Kazooie and Tooie take up. Because I know it's not enough to warrant a separate download. Hell, I'm pretty sure that all these games don't even amount to 50 GB.

Seeing as how Conker goes for $70+ in cartridge form, I'd say it is worth the price alone. Luckily I still have my copy from way back when.
bought it strictly for conkers BFD. the banjo games and viva piñata are nice bonuses.

For the 360 downloaded ones, could you just load the game from the games and apps menu of the Xbox? Also do you need the disc to load them up?

***** overall, people prefer the original just because of multiplayer. the aiming controls the n64 version have not aged well and it is very apparent once you make it to the War chapter of the story. If they dont add Live and Reloaded they should at least rework the controls

Call me old fashioned, but I like their nes, snes, and arcade games, RC pro am, 1 and 2, Battletoads, the 3-d ones, are ok, but I was first introduced to rare, by RC Pro am 1, which was a good solid racer, I was there would have been a RC Pro am 3, for the snes... I was hoping for the "Conker: Live and Reloaded", because it's a Xbox Title is basically a HD Remake of the N64 Version of Conker, but Rare said the original version is more "rare" to get....maybe DLC.
