I was mostly in Shinjuku, at one of the APA hotels and a couple of friends from Tokyo picked me up now and then and we drove to various places. Saw some musician friends there like Rie Tomimatsu (stage name Rie aka Suzaku) with well-known drummer Kanade Sato. Also saw another musician friend, a great guitarist, Yabori Koitchi. If you get a chance, check out some of those names here on TH-cam- great musicians! Another friend drove us to Mt. Fuji and we went up as far as a vehicle could go, to 'the fifth station'. So, I loved the beautiful countryside as much as Tokyo. Places like Shinjuku or Shibuya crossing and area were great, but there were also some nice areas more outside of the central area that felt more relaxed and entertaining. For example, I don't recall the name of the area, but another musician friend was playing at a club called The Silver Elephant, in the Kichijoji district, if you know of that area. Very nice. Everywhere was great!
Just spent 19 days in Tokyo, and visited some areas in the country. I'd love to go back!
