Early this month, I had the opportunity to fly the all new sparker from TL sport. This is the same company that brought the Sting light sport aircraft and the Stream tandem seating light aircraft with retractable landing gear.
Think of the Sparker as an offspring of the Stream because this plane also comes with side sticks and retractible landing gear.
The sparker does perform great with climb speeds over 1500 ft/minute and that's also in altitude. And this birdy will cruise nicely at 165 knots while only burning 8 gallons of fuel per hour. Not Bad

it's a nice LSA but it should be under 100k, not 400. That rotax has greedy prices is no excuse to join them. Same for garmin.
Beautiful plane. 415k for a 2 seater is hard to swallow; especially when it runs the rotax 915 and not the 916.

I agree the price is a bit stiff. Still loving the VL3.
Way too much money for a 2 seater. Fully loaded 4 seat slings are 320K and can haul skis and bikes. Can’t really haul much of anything in the Sparker. You’re better off fully restoring a mooney or turbo arrow at half the price.
I’m a big big fan of the sling hw but I don’t even know if I have the budget for the sonex hw. Might be building an affordaplane. 😂
Just this would be factory build which has economic advantages: training, rental which leads to potential tax advantages.
Beautiful plane but for that price I would go for a Risen 915 which in all specs is just a bit better,little bit slower stall speed, little bit more payload climbs faster but as faras I know, but prices changes fast, less money. Would be nice if you post a comparison of these type of (ultra) Light sport aircraft.
The price is the only downside. I couldn't do it for a light sport.

These new planes are nice but really the prices are just too high. It’s basically a toy, if it cost about 1 to 1.5 corvettes that would be reasonable.

I’ve noticed that the “high priced” LSAs (Bristell for example) like to mention Cirrus in their pitches about their planes. They do this to attempt to justify the high prices of their planes. No way a Bristell is 1/2 a Cirrus. I don’t see many, if any Cirrus owners trading down to this class of aircraft. Why would they? No more “Cirrus life” etc. and they aren’t interested in fuel burn. With that said, this is a great offering(except the $$$$). The VL3 is also in this class along with the high price tag.
It's a beautiful plane for sure. Sadly though, low wing planes drive me nuts because the pilot is usually sitting top of or rearward the wing, and it blocks so much of the downward view. High wing planes are just the opposite, blocking almost the entire upward view. It seems that every low wing 2 seater is that way with the only difference being the cockpit panel. The DA-20/40 are the best I've seen with moving the pilot forward so your butt is on the leading edge of the wing.
I’ve been waiting for this plane to arrive. I remember first hearing about it way back in OshKosh. The stream was on my radar. Then the salesman said wait for this. Glad I did because the wife isn’t a fan of tandem seating. Tell me, is the side stick spring loaded as the SR2 series is?

You didn't mention an autopilot or was it not installed/offered?
I'm totally sure for $415 thousand and 3 Garmin 10 inch G3x touch displays it has a 3 Axel autopilot.

@@ChavngRynsPvts I’ve haven’t heard from a guy like you with that comment since I was maybe 19 in vail Colorado. A tax write off doesn’t mean I didn’t buy the plane, maintain the plane, waste my time in the plane flying when someone else can do that for me. If I want a tax write off the best thing I could do is pay more people to do things, buy more property to get into debt, pay my children…..to name a few.

@@Mobev1 you crack me up. I can't believe you un-ironically think a 150, 172, or 182 can even touch the Sparker or VL3 on performance, hourly cost, fit and finish. I'm actually laughing right now. Retract gear carries a retract price. I'd take you more serious if you said you could find a Lancair 320 for less. All good though, my VL3 gets delivered in 2 months, so I guess I'll enjoy my toy while you complain about the price of things.

Flying a plane is about as hard as backing up a trailer until you have no landing options, the pilot can’t fly because he passed out, bird strike into the cabin, collision. I think between all the brs manufacturers we have 1200+ saves now. That makes you a retard, knuckle dragging fool. All I listed happened last year. Plus dozens more.

Hey Mike...what kind of aviation company is this? They are unable to programm a working website, the mix statute miles with nautical miles! Unprofessional! To all ohters: THERE ARE NO MILES in aviation, these ane nautical miles AND airplane speed is messured in KNOTS. Don't mix these, just imagine an atlantic crossing, unless you want to swim the difference.
What plane is Mike flying now? I believe he sold his Sling last year and I haven’t seen if he purchased anything yet.
I told him the market is collapsing so maybe he took my advice to sell it.
