@@KATTmkv the majority of top players on PSNP use hacked vitas, you just can't prove it. As long as the timestamps aren't obvious nobody cares. It's a shame but it happens a lot. I would never use my hacked vita on PSN because I own so many digital games and whilst Sony may not have banned anyone yet (that Reddit knows about, there are plenty of people who never use social media) there's always that risk and I'm not egotistical enough to think I would avoid a ban if they ever did decide to send out a wave. I'd rather spend 30 quid on a cart if I really want the trophies, but I'm not competing with anyone and would never catch up if I tried so I mostly play games I enjoy. The hacked vita just means I can play games that have long since been pulled from the store, which is a longer list every day.
I hacked my Vita not for the games, (because I bought a lot of physical games and I’m still buying physical games to this day so I don’t need to pirate [also support the devs!]), but for the overclock plugin. Overclocking that Borderlands 2 made the game playable. Unfortunately, I finished the whole game first before hacking the Vita so it’s a bit pointless...
VitaTV practically needs hacks to be, well, practical. I have hacks to: -remove the whitelist (Sony should have been sued over this) -use sixaxis as motion sensing -fake the camera so games that use it wont crash My 3g Vita has an internal SD card, with a hack to remove the "you dont have permission to use trophies" warning Both Vita and VitaTV have: -overclocking (via the other one, not lolicon) -allow use of PSP games -VitaGrafx, which lets you increase the resolution many games run at Vita has: -custom warning screen with my contact info in case I lose it to a good smaritan -use PS4 controllers
Good recommendations. The whitelist hack on the PSTV is at minimum required. It’s so silly that Sony didn’t just allow all games to be playable and throw up a warning that they may not function properly. The confusing messaging hurt the PSTV from the start
i've had my vita since day 1, and i just bought another the sapphire blue one from japan, the vita is my fave handheld system, i only hacked it for the more storage really, i feel bad for the devs that were still working on stuff for the vita and weren't told they were shutting down the store, i hope all the time and effort they put into the stuff that wasn't released yet doesn't go to waste and they still put it out somewhere even if it's a small thing put on the ps4 or even just thrown onto steam.
I appreciate the thoroughness of this video! I am one, however, who will likely never hack either of my two Vitas. I have too much invested in the library of Vita/PSP/PS1 games I've downloaded (& bought physically) to risk bricking my consoles or shortening their lives in exchange for some quick fun and functionality today. I also still use PSN regularly with both Vitas, so I'd hate to install something accidentally that would jeopardize my Vita's relationship with my PSN account. I just downloaded Attack on Titan & Ar nosurge plus last week and am having a blast with both! I am the kind of retro-gamer who plays everything original hardware/original software -- always have in 30-plus years of collecting -- and I want to do my best to ensure that my kids and I can play our favorite Vita games 20 years from now. That's why I have two Vitas and four proprietary memory cards: to future-proof with back-up console & memory. For me personally, the main compelling reason to hack is the English translation patches ... and that is indeed tempting. Maybe I'll buy an old 2nd-hand Vita one day and try it out.
That’s totally fair. I was nervous at first too. The translation patches are great to have. I’ve bought quite a few Japanese games and being able to now play them in English is awesome
@Vanilla I understand that hacked Vita guys tend to think like you do that careful collectors like me are morons. I've already had my fun spending those hundreds of dollars. Hopefully, I'll still be happily playing my Vitas in the year 2040, like I'm still playing my Saturn/PS1/GBA regularly today. Not sure if all you hacked Vita guys will be able to. ... maybe?
It is VERY easy. I made a mistake installing Enso EX WITHOUT having an SD2Vita, but was easily remedied via a $5 SD2VITA. However to practice, I soft bricked it on purpose by blocking updates. Simply plugging into my PS3 to update restored it for me to follow directions again. www.cfwaifu.com/psvita/
As much as I love my switch I’m not gonna lie I’ve been playing my hacked vita all week. New version of the n64 just released today and DC coming soon from the same dev. English patch for Catherine full body is 🔥

Back when all the quarantine start a grabbed my vita and went to a ship and I have being enjoying all that the vita has to offer. The only limitation I had was my 8GB memory card... for some game I had to uninstall 1 or 2 games in order to play them. I haven't seen the video by tech James you referred to but another TH-camr whose channel is Blain locklair (I think that's how you spell it) had some really good and easy to follow videos on how to jailbreak you're vita or ps tv.
If you don't have a Nvidia GPU you can still stream from you PC using PC Link app, which uses Steam in home Streaming. It is way less developed, but enables you to do something really cool.
I really want to like send my PSPs off too some one to jail break them cause I don't have a pc, but I don't know who to send them to for things like that.
I bought a vita a few years back because I wanted to play OG castlevania SOTN and OG risk of rain on the go. I tried remote play on it for my ps4 with middling results, and being able to play some of my ps4 library is cool, but after that the magic was kind of gone and its sat there for months. Hacking my vita is probably a good thing and will save me some money too, considering that during the pandemic scalpers have bought up every console known to man, meaning you can't play a lot of retro games officially atm. Emulating all the igavania games on the vita is gonna be fantastic.
Guys... model 1000, custom shell with l2/r2 + l3/r3, moonlight (for a hacked vita), and even with a nvidia card between 100-150$ you can play titles like ffxv, the witcher 3, both the middle earth games and every modern AAA title on a GORGEOUS screen that has all the buttons of a controller. You literally have a controller with a screen with the crispiest colors can actually have on a so tiny device, and just with 1280x720 of resolution you get the most beautiful graphics out of every game, with rock 60 fps. Basically every AAA game on a handheld at 60fps native. The only cons is that moonlight drains the battery a bit faster than local games, with ratchet and clank trilogy for the vita i get 3-4 hours of game and more, but with moonlight i can only get 2-2.30h and keeping it under charge when playing is not perfect because the cable is right in the bottom middle and the whole thing can be heavy to keep in the hands.
The ps vita is such a powerful device. I love mine and been playing Banjo-Kazooie on the n64 emulator. One of my old favorite from back in the year 2000 Too bad Sony give up on it. One more thing I wish for is that they had more cheats for most of the games on the vetacheat thing
My vita has been hacked for two years now and I love it cause I can back my games up to a sd card and play them that way my collection can stay on display not getting ruined
Awesome video it’s seems very compelling to hack! If I do will I still be able to download and play games from the PSN store just like on a vanilla Vita?
moonlight is SICK !!! i play alot of games on my VITA. GTA 5 is the best example. If you can buy a case with R1-L1 buttons you're going to enjoy it to the core.
Chaos Rings II is for some reason, in english. I think patch for the third game works with it too. I was so mad when they shut down that app on google play...
I have a vita and hacked it, a while back, mostly to play arcade games, but now i might try to find out how to play these emulators. I was a little bummed that when i did it, I basically lost access to all my digital and physical games, but I saved a backup to my desktop and I am considering getting a 2nd vita. Maybe I will keep that one official, though I am sure there is a way to make it so you can play your official games, I like that you can use actual SD cards now so will need to look into how to do that too. I got one of those cases that adds L2 and R2 triggers that will press on the rear touch pad as well as two paddles on the back that press into the lower half of the touch pad on the back essentially making them L3 and R3 but not all vita games made full use of it, still its a nice touch. Have to agree the way that Sony just let the vita wither and hope for it's death is going to be black mark on them for a lot of people, though I'm sure most of us will still get PS5's by the time the year is out.

I have 2 hacked PSPs so they’re the reason why my Vita is still vanilla. I just love collecting expensive vita games for some sick reasons lol. But I’m not against it or anything, just a personal choice.
Do you by chance know the max memory storage for a PS Vita some people are telling me $256 GB and I've heard it can go up to two terabytes but I don't know officially
Quick question: I have been grappling with the issue of whether or not to mod my Vita. The reasons you've listed here are indeed appealing, but I'm concerned about two things. I'm not really worried about bricking the system (I'm very careful when doing this kind of stuff), but I do worry that I won't be able to connect my console to the Internet ever again, for example, to sync trophies. Since I also have a modded PSP (which works like a charm), I'm not really sure I need to mod my Vita for emulation purposes, at least not yet. Since Sony has mostly abandoned the Vita by this point, I'm wondering if it maybe would be better to wait a little bit longer until it has *completely* abandoned the console to mod it safely. I sure as hell don't want to risk jeopardizing my 11-year old account with a ban.
So Sony hasn’t banned anyone yet but I think it’s always a risk. I don’t pirate Vita games, cheat at multiplayer or hack trophies so hopefully I’d be ok. You can never really tell though. If you can, buy a second vita just for hacking and don’t associate it with your PSN account. Being able to have 200gb of storage for retro games is pretty awesome
Late reply, but as 2 old 4 gaming mentioned, there're no reports of Sony banning accounts playing on a modded Vita. So long you spoof your PSN and firmware version, you should have no issues with connecting to the Internet and even playing multiplayer. However, it's advisable not to hack your trophies.
It is a very nice video, but I feel it needs more information. If you want to know more about using a DS3/4 with your vita, look for "XXXX" or something - a starting point for someone to research.
I never heard of hacking a vita. I have the game Crisis Core and can't play it because no psp so deffo gonna look into this. Thanks for the video dude!!! And now...... BEER!!!
Just a few questions. On a hacked Vita will it show what you’re playing for example am emulated game like Super mario 64 to your friends on PSN? Also, can you still earn trophies for emulated the games such as a patched Trails in the sky etc?
I could do all of that just by using my Sony Xperia Z3, it’s exactly the same thing except that I don’t need to hack my Xperia to do this, therefore I will not hack my Vita, but for people who doesn’t have a Sony Xperia, I guess it’s worth hacking.
2 old 4 gaming no not really, but I can play PlayStore games with PS4 controller, old retro Java games, I use my 256gb SD card and I don’t need to hack my Xperia to make all that possible, I guess people can hack their Vita if they want to play Vita games but I personally bought all the Vita games that I wanted to play, so in my perspective I don’t think I need to hack my Vita just to play Vita games, maybe I would’ve a long time ago but now I have a Switch and I use that as my main handheld system.
Considering hacking and wanted to know, if I factory reset and clear my main account and hack on my 2nd account will this stop my main from getting banned

I'd rather spend 30 quid on a cart if I really want the trophies, but I'm not competing with anyone and would never catch up if I tried so I mostly play games I enjoy. The hacked vita just means I can play games that have long since been pulled from the store, which is a longer list every day.
Same here. I'm trying to buy all the games I want to platinum and then hack it lol. 52 platinums and counting
Here after they announced they'll be terminating the Vita PS Store.
Aren't we all haha.
Me too. I have a PSVita but almost no games
@@salj.5459 yeah i hacked mine after the store shut down, now i got all vita games i ever wanted lol
I have hacks to:
-remove the whitelist (Sony should have been sued over this)
-use sixaxis as motion sensing
-fake the camera so games that use it wont crash
My 3g Vita has an internal SD card, with a hack to remove the "you dont have permission to use trophies" warning
Both Vita and VitaTV have:
-overclocking (via the other one, not lolicon)
-allow use of PSP games
-VitaGrafx, which lets you increase the resolution many games run at
Vita has:
-custom warning screen with my contact info in case I lose it to a good smaritan
-use PS4 controllers
Good recommendations. The whitelist hack on the PSTV is at minimum required. It’s so silly that Sony didn’t just allow all games to be playable and throw up a warning that they may not function properly. The confusing messaging hurt the PSTV from the start
Great video! And don't forget the MODS! I have installed some mods like dead or alive xtream 3 (nude) and Valkirye drive! But there are several mods!
Nice. I haven’t explored them
i've had my vita since day 1, and i just bought another the sapphire blue one from japan, the vita is my fave handheld system, i only hacked it for the more storage really, i feel bad for the devs that were still working on stuff for the vita and weren't told they were shutting down the store, i hope all the time and effort they put into the stuff that wasn't released yet doesn't go to waste and they still put it out somewhere even if it's a small thing put on the ps4 or even just thrown onto steam.
English patch for Catherine full body is 🔥
The English patch for Catherine is brilliant. So glad we were able to get that
2 old 4 gaming played through it 4 times so far, it’s now my favorite game of all time =)
Great video! Explains the benefits and versatility of a hacked vita. I have done many of the things you have described, but was pleased at discovering the ability to use USB cable to stream on pc. I am very much looking forward to see how the community further innovates new features and emulators.
Same here. It’s crazy how much potential this little device has.
Back when all the quarantine start a grabbed my vita and went to a ship and I have being enjoying all that the vita has to offer. The only limitation I had was my 8GB memory card... for some game I had to uninstall 1 or 2 games in order to play them. Overall I think you can still enjoy the Vita without hack it, but after this video I want to test the ps4 dualshock controller, I wonder if you can still use the ps4 remote access while using the dualshock controller, that sound amazing. Thanks for the vita content, I love this videos!!!
Using a dual shock 4 and SD cards are major benefits and you can use a DS4 while remoteplaying.
Thanks for watching Carlos. :)
THANKS FOR THIS !!! FOR KEEPIN THE VITA ALIVE BROTHER, Please make more Videos about VITA games , and Vita new features as well, HOPE THE DEVS MAKES MORE ANDROID PORT GAMES , BIG POTENTIAL FOR VITA :)
SUPPORT FROM THE PHILIPPINES
I haven't seen the video by tech James you referred to but another TH-camr whose channel is Blain locklair (I think that's how you spell it) had some really good and easy to follow videos on how to jailbreak you're vita or ps tv.
You've inspried me to hack mine. Luv the channel xx
Can i still play my other physical games when its hacked?
If you don't have a Nvidia GPU you can still stream from you PC using PC Link app, which uses Steam in home Streaming. It is way less developed, but enables you to do something really cool.
That’s great to know. Thanks
I hacked mine this weekend. I'm waiting on my SD card adapter. But I got n64 emulator Nd been playing mario kart64!! Great video man!
Thanks man. :)
The ps vita is such a powerful device. I love mine and been playing Banjo-Kazooie on the n64 emulator. One of my old favorite from back in the year 2000
Too bad Sony give up on it.
One more thing I wish for is that they had more cheats for most of the games on the vetacheat thing
I just bought a vita I would love to know how to put all those on mine
Also me it’s so overwhelming isn’t it😂
my favorite feature would ofc be installing pirat... ehm legally owned games 😅
My vita has been hacked for two years now and I love it cause I can back my games up to a sd card and play them that way my collection can stay on display not getting ruined
Awesome video it’s seems very compelling to hack! If I do will I still be able to download and play games from the PSN store just like on a vanilla Vita?
Yup you can
Sony needs to continue this thing again, it’s a masterpiece.
moonlight is SICK !!! i play alot of games on my VITA. GTA 5 is the best example. If you can buy a case with R1-L1 buttons you're going to enjoy it to the core.
Nice! I wish my PC could handle it
Chaos Rings II is for some reason, in english. I think patch for the third game works with it too. I was so mad when they shut down that app on google play...
I love my hacked vita ! Download psp PS1 and psvita games straight from the console 😱😍🔥😍
I gotta get me a Vita one of these days after my Nintendo Switch Lite
this is sum FIRE A$$ content keep it up bro all love here
I have a vita and hacked it, a while back, mostly to play arcade games, but now i might try to find out how to play these emulators.
The title should be "No reason not to hack your vita"
Can you do a top ten video about guides - tutorials useful and safe for hacking or installing different plugins for the vita, please?
Hi David, I think that’s really complicated. Hacking a vita isn’t easy and takes time. I had to read/watch a lot of different guides which I won’t remember. My advice is start with Tech James’ videos. He had some useful easy to follow guides
hi, im wondering how do you get Kingdom hearts birth by sleep on the vita? Will you make a video on it or do you plan on making one? is it possible to get KH2 on the vita? thanks in advance!
Alrightie, there I go being monitored by Google again. Last week, I downloaded a PSP emulator on my computer and my favorite PSP game, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7. And now I see this in my suggested videos. Thanks for tracking me Google but I can't lie and say that though I don't have a PSP/Vita, I'm not interested. On with the video!
Happens to me all the time too. Thanks for sticking around and watching though. :)
@@2old4gaming Certainly, it was a good video :)
What game are you playing at 3:45 the turned based one? Looks so sick and I don’t recognise it.
It’s Chaos Rings 3. I did a video on it here:

@@2old4gaming thanks you sorry for the late reply
I never played Cathrine, excited to download it, I didn't know it was on Vita, thanks for the heads up. I'm going to download it after FFIX and the two untold legends games.
I'd be too scared of breaking it
@@Lord_Fong Geez Fong, you're not helping by scaring him, @tomcat just make sure you're following instructions and be patient with the tutorials, don't fly ahead of them thinking you know what's coming next and you'll be fine.
If you haven't modded a psp before or anything like that, I can understand the hesitation since you definitely can brick your $200+ device, but the learning experience and the results are so so worth it. The level of freedom that it and the Vita community provides really allows you to make your Vita your own.
Best console for emulation from video games birth to ps1/Saturn and even psp. Didn’t know that the n64 emulator was improved, have to check that. Cant wait for Dreamcast and GameCube emulators now !
Thanks, great video !!
And yes, tech James channel is the best if you guys want to hack your vita 👌💎
i got my vita back in march and i’ve used it to read and store manga on there and i also like having sd2vita. the seller was nice enough to include an 8gb memory card but i burned through it pretty quickly 😂
Omg manga my g
How do you read manga on there????
@@kasciem194 sorry for leaving u hanging i had to go back in my vita since i forgot but i use Bookr MOD vita and from there you can upload the manga files/images to your vita from your pc and read them on the vita! i forgot the details exactly on how to download them but if you just google bookr mod vita you’ll get some info. hope this helps
I honestly just use my vita for vita games have enough game cartridges always just use my psp if i wanna emulate anything
Hacked mine! Love the emulation on it!
Worth getting ??
Thumbs up for showing Ac!d during the montage.
Right? Hands down one of my most played on my psp and Vita. Have you played the first one? I've only played Ac!d 2.
Gonna upgrade my Vita after work ASAP !
I have 2 hacked PSPs so they’re the reason why my Vita is still vanilla. I just love collecting expensive vita games for some sick reasons lol. But I’m not against it or anything, just a personal choice.
What a loser
Great points. What's the game at the overclock part of the video?
Chaos Rings 3. It was only out in Japan but there is a translation patch for hacked vitas.
@@2old4gaming ohhh this was originally a mobile game right? Thanks I'll look into it.
I’m about to get one to hack it. What is the recommended amount of memory space do I need to have all these games?
So definitely enable the SD card first and get the SD2Vita adapter. A 128gb SD card will be a good amount to retro and Vita games
Do you know anything about retroarch and runahead on the vita to get rid of the massive input lag? To clarify, the audio is bad with the feature on.
Do you by chance know the max memory storage for a PS Vita some people are telling me $256 GB and I've heard it can go up to two terabytes but I don't know officially
I’m not sure man. I’ve heard mixed things too. I use 128gb as it’s enough but it would be amazing to have 2TB
I just got my vita today. Unfortunately I only have a MacBook, and can’t mod it myself.
I'm worried that i will get ban i want to hack it but I don't want to lose my account since 2009
Hi, which hack method has all the features in the video?
I used Henkaku
BEER!!!
Nice!
Can I play wwf no mercy? On the 64 emulator
Great vid. Is the full library of psp and ps1 games compatible with a hacked vita?
Yup they are
Hacked my 1000 model, since i like the screen more. My 2000 is stock. Fav new thing i can do is actually moonlight. That is the streaming thing.
Nice! I still haven’t been able to do it. I love that feature though
What are some must have packages and plugins?
Just a few questions. On a hacked Vita will it show what you’re playing for example am emulated game like Super mario 64 to your friends on PSN? Also, can you still earn trophies for emulated the games such as a patched Trails in the sky etc?
You can still earn trophies and yes it will show you are playing Homebrew games
Dungeon Travelers 2 is kicking my ass into the dust.
What is the name of the background song of this video? I like it!
I could do all of that just by using my Sony Xperia Z3, it’s exactly the same thing except that I don’t need to hack my Xperia to do this, therefore I will not hack my Vita, but for people who doesn’t have a Sony Xperia, I guess it’s worth hacking.
I don’t think it can play vita games though, right?
2 old 4 gaming no not really, but I can play PlayStore games with PS4 controller, old retro Java games, I use my 256gb SD card and I don’t need to hack my Xperia to make all that possible, I guess people can hack their Vita if they want to play Vita games but I personally bought all the Vita games that I wanted to play, so in my perspective I don’t think I need to hack my Vita just to play Vita games, maybe I would’ve a long time ago but now I have a Switch and I use that as my main handheld system.
I wanna buy another vita & hack but my 1st one is my baby & I could never
That’s understandable. I would never hack my main vita. It’s only because I have spares that I don’t mind doing it
Considering hacking and wanted to know, if I factory reset and clear my main account and hack on my 2nd account will this stop my main from getting banned
I didn't own a Ps vita until New, i start to search if is worth to hack it or not..
I have in my collection ps2 ps3 and ps4 pro and own an 2004 psp hacked , and tomorrow my ps vita will arrive and i don't know for sure what to do , but i'm 80% sure i will hack him just for emu feature..
Thx for The video buddy, like it !
I worries. Thanks for watching
can you save your game progress on a hacked vita, such that when i want to come back to the game i can pick up where i left off?
For Vita games? Saves work as normal for a non-hacked Vita. You can’t save at random points. For emulated games though, you can
I wanna hack my Vita. But I lack the confidence to do so. And every guide I've found is too confusing or difficult. So I am stuck with the stock firmware.
It is quite complicated but not impossible. There are a lot of hoops to jump through but it is worth it. Maybe you could find a second hand already hacked vita. I’ve seen a few on sale on ebay
Hello sir. I recently read about a news that playstation will do a bug hunt for psn by public. What do you think about the news despite we still hunting for trophies (that is me 😂) in hacked vita? Thank you.. *sorry for my bad english
i always feel bad when modding a console when it is still getting updates
I can understand that. I didn’t hack my PSP until after the Vita was out and it was truly dead
@@2old4gaming I was in the same boat
Can you play all PS3, 2, 1 titles on Vita?
Yup! I love my hacked Vita 1000 but it keeps on crashing randomly 😔
That’s annoying. I haven’t had many crashes although a couple of games have stopped randomly so I had to restart them
Check if you are using latest version of plugins. Eg. there was a bug with storagemgr where Vita would freez after beeing sleep for a while. Bug was fixed... so just make sure you have latest versions of plugins. Make sure you are on right firmware also
hello can you please answer me this question I am woried. So like 2 months ago I bought a modded ps vita and the guy said don't sign in to psn is this true my version is 3.73
Provide a list of games which are shown in the video
Wait, can I do local two player with xmen vs streetfighter on my PSTV?
Does anyone know how we can listen/extract our favorite songs fron the games we have installed on Vita to play them outside of the main gameplay?
Make a list of the best vita games that japan only please
What game is this at 3:45 just before you bring up sd cards
So what ur saying is....that I can turn my vita into a system just like the switch that can also play all PSP and PS1 games....HELL YEAH ILL DO IT RIGHG NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck man. It’s a fiddly process so follow the steps carefully
Haha right. Any reputable sources? CTR and OoT are my shizniz
Also I don’t like using SD2Vita... it prevents me from playing my games, since 97% of my games are physical copies. That’s why I bought a 64 Memory Card for it. Staying on 3.73 firmware.
You can simply download those games via PKGj to your Sony card or to an SD card. You won't need your physical copies at all. ALL the Vita library is available to download via PKGj.
So if the console is hacked, it can download any games from the shop or do I need to download them from pc?
