HOWEVER, I have enough emotional intelligence to know that my reaction is a reflection of ME and where I am in my own journey and really has nothing to do with you. As you said, everyone's journey looks different and we (sober and non-sober people) shouldn't try to discredit, depreciate, or trivialize someone's recovery because it looks different than someone elses. 19:14 I'm a recovering addict and will be celebrating 10 years clean from opioids in Nov. I told my dr that I drink a glass of wine now and then. He just shrugged his sholders and didn't seem to care much. I've never been told I wasn't allowed to drink by him or any other professionals I've seen over the years. All I was told was that ANYTHING can turn into an addiction if abused. This includes food, shopping, sex and many other things we do every day. It's all about moderation and checking on yourself if it starts being an everyday thing.
correct. anything can be addictive. I've been told by all of my doctors and therapists that it's perfectly fine that I drink occasionally and that I have an edible like once a month. I have never had the urge to use my drugs of choice since I came home from treatment :). Recovery looks different for everyone.
I'm in recovery too its been about 2 yrs 4 mo from opiates & benzos, I don't care for alcohol if I have a drink I'm good for a yr lol it just makes me sick but a glass of wine would be nice esp the nights my kids have me insane after they go to bed lol! but I do smoke 💚 daily. With my stomach & health issues it's legit the only thing that even helps me sometimes that's the only way I can even eat. My dr knows and it okay with it im so lucky I found her when I did. People don’t understand the difference between being negative and critical. One is mean, one is done to assist someone to improve it point out a flawed behavior leading to improvement

I worked at Starbucks for 10 years, and it was the most physically and mentally taxing job I’ve ever worked. Now I work in insurance from home, and I work equally as hard even though it isn’t as hard as my previous experience. I hope they aren’t insinuating that being in an mlm is hard work tho, because unless you aren’t making any money, your down line is doing all the work. Also love how you are getting hate from both sides of the political field. I don’t like cops, I understand your husband is one, and I’m sure he’s a great guy, but the profession is something I don’t agree with. Does that have any impact on how I view you? Quite frankly, no. Former SBux manager here and that was a soul sucking job. I work two different jobs (sometimes 3 when I'm called), and a few more hours combined than I did for SBux but I'm happier, healthier, and oddly more rested.
There's manual labor in food service, of course, but it's the mental and emotional aspect that's exhausting in any direct public facing job. Too many years in retail, some involving food and some involving manual labor with plants and trees, broke me in every possible way, especially as i was overcompensating for undiagnosed illnesses the whole time. The worst aspect of food service seems to be the time pressure with people wanting everything RIGHT NOW and god forbid you make a mistake. Social media only exacerbates the problem when unreasonable people can "share" their displeasure with the world.
I've gradually found myself moving from physical to cerebral (i.e. management) in my job over the years, I do much less physical work but I am far more knackered at the end of my day. Work is work, ignore the step count!

I was brainwashed, taken for money, and possibly harmed by the toxic metals in the jewelry. I appreciate your channel and so many others. I think this is worth mentioning here. I had never watched a TH-cam video until quarantine. Chelsea (CC) was the first Channel I subscribed to because she reminded me of my spicy daughter-in-law. She sent the sweetest response back to me and I know she had to be thinking to herself “what is this woman doing?” I now know that that it was a stupid thing to do but I was a virgin on TH-cam at that time

YES! I do my makeup & paint my nails since it’s something “mindless” I can do and helps calm me down. While working, I met a guy who saw that my nails were done (wasn’t close enough to see the design & didn’t ask to see them up close) and he complimented them. I thanked him and he immediately said, “But that’s why y’all get them done right? So people will notice…” and I just kindly replied, “Actually I do my nails myself because it’s calming for me.” He was so baffled that he didn’t even know what to say and shut up for the remainder of our interaction except to thank me at the end of it as he was leaving 😂 The way people have so much self-importance that they think someone would spend their own time and money to “impress” them, a complete stranger.

But when you're in a commercial (or religious) cult, you have a tendency to get reallll defensive with those who challenge your convictions. I know AA/NA is for some people, but it was never for me because I had a problem with opiates, not alcohol or marijuana, so I don't feel a need to abstain from all substances. You do you, I'll do me. When a youtuber gets an editor they are really just saving themselves time. Idk if y’all have every tried to edit and upload yourself but it takes 6-8 hours at minimum let alone the hour long videos cc posts like twice a week or more so it saves them a bit of time but all the administrative work, email answering, comment answering and research is on her lol
Saving myself so much time. I batch film, send him all those videos. Then I get to research and script the next deep dive. Allows me to work more and yes have more free time thankful for my editor

Many addicts do need to refrain from all substances, but many don’t. It’s like you said, recovery looks different for everyone. As my 5 year coin says, “To Thine Own Self Be True”.

I've gradually found myself moving from physical to cerebral (i.e. management) in my job over the years, I do much less physical work but I am far more knackered at the end of my day. Work is work, ignore the step count!

Hello, I have been watching your content for awhile now and a few other Anti-MLM TH-cam channels. I was a Paparazzi consultant for almost 2 years. It was the worst! I was brainwashed, taken for money, and possibly harmed by the toxic metals in the jewelry. I appreciate your channel and so many others. After Paparazzi I got wrapped up in a group that claimed to be a movement to take Paparazzi down. Geraldine Feisty Souza has most definitely created her own cult of ex-consultants with her "core team." Anyways I am working on learning from you and others because I will be creating a channel and content on my experience through Paparazzi til present day. Second person is going to be so upset when they find out that in the mainstream entertainment industry we also hire editors. The director usually doesn't just do a whole project themselves. The more sophisticated youtube and social content becomes content creators are basically becoming like mini production companies, of course they hire other people. It's honestly a win for those of us who actually work in film/tv/commercial production because it makes more job opportunities.

I had never watched a TH-cam video until quarantine. Chelsea (CC) was the first Channel I subscribed to because she reminded me of my spicy daughter-in-law. Well……. then I thought Chelsea needed to know all about me 🙈 I sent her a long ass DM and even attached a picture of my whole family. She sent the sweetest response back to me and I know she had to be thinking to herself “what is this woman doing?”
I now know that that it was a stupid thing to do but I was a virgin on TH-cam at that time

YES! I do my makeup & paint my nails since it’s something “mindless” I can do and helps calm me down. While working, I met a guy who saw that my nails were done (wasn’t close enough to see the design & didn’t ask to see them up close) and he complimented them. I thanked him and he immediately said, “But that’s why y’all get them done right? So people will notice…” and I just kindly replied, “Actually I do my nails myself because it’s calming for me.” He was so baffled that he didn’t even know what to say and shut up for the remainder of our interaction except to thank me at the end of it as he was leaving 😂
The way people have so much self-importance that they think someone would spend their own time and money to “impress” them, a complete stranger.

Disagreeing with someone's argument doesn't make you a mean person. But when you're in a commercial (or religious) cult, you have a tendency to get reallll defensive with those who challenge your convictions. More often than not they will turn it around and make you out to be a miserable hurt person, most likely because they're taught that whoever doesn't think like them hasn't seen the light.

while I agree that there are a fair bit of people who misconstrue any kind of feedback or constructive criticism as “hating,” I don’t think it has anything to do with any generation being “weak minded.” I see a lot of Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials, and Zoomers who buy into the lie that constructive criticism is “hating.”
I have been sober almost 8 years and watching someone else drink something during a video doesn't bother me, and if it did, then I would steer clear of that situation instead of bringing someone else down. And how sad that these people are attacking you personally when all you do a put out the facts.
I think Chelsea is a perfect example of how thick skin you have to be on youtube or any social media. Although people will attack you more if your content contradicts their whole life style and whole belief system. When a youtuber gets an editor they are really just saving themselves time. Idk if y’all have every tried to edit and upload yourself but it takes 6-8 hours at minimum let alone the hour long videos cc posts like twice a week or more so it saves them a bit of time but all the administrative work, email answering, comment answering and research is on her lol
Saving myself so much time. I batch film, send him all those videos. Then I get to research and script the next deep dive. Allows me to work more and yes have more free time thankful for my editor

I’m a recovering alcoholic (1864 days sober today!!) and I smoke green. I’ve had people tell me that I’m not rly sober because I smoke, which drives me crazy. Many addicts do need to refrain from all substances, but many don’t. It’s like you said, recovery looks different for everyone. As my 5 year coin says, “To Thine Own Self Be True”.
