    I know her approach to some of the questions are not to everyone’s taste but I must say I admire her no nonsense straight to the point attitude. It was lovely to hear her speak so kindly about Sheila Florance and Fiona Spence and some of the other cast members. Loved the interview thanks guys.

    This is a pretty good interview. A few are saying that she's over it and stuff, but the fact is that she did agree to do the interview, and fully acknowledges that Prisoner was a huge stepping stone for her acting career. But it is understandable that she doesn't get the obsession with it 40 years later, because it was just one job of many for her. At the same time, the obsession by some fans can be taken as a compliment for great work on a great series, since many of these Prisoner actors were so good that they brought to life some of the most amazing characters who seemed real.
    I like Colette's no nonsense and candid approach to the interview. Not much in the way of emotion from her over Prisoner, but that's understandable, it was so long ago now! And another thing we need to remember is that as fans, we are admirers of the show and watch episodes over and over. To the actors it was a job and they don't watch and re-watch episodes years later, so they might not remember much in the way of details about scenes etc. I think Colette was keeping it real for where we're at in 2022. But sorry Colette, all I could hear throughout this interview was Doreen talking serious.. lol. She still sounds so young and her voice is very distinctive!

    Nice to see people have had successful lives and are still with us. We must remember that actors are not their characters but they are great at acting their characters.

      Yes but be humble and polite. If not for the fans, she wouldn't have had a job. She got really mad because one cast member had a go at Grundy/Fremantle and the conditions they worked under and she became angry as they were her employer at Neighbours at the time the comments were msde. She spat the dummy about it. Seems she can dish itbout but not take it. And let's be honest. This actor waa a household name solely because of their role in prisoner. They should be grateful.

    This interview with Colette was absolutely amazing! Her no-nonsense approach to life allows us to know what she truly thinks and feels. And I get it, Prisoner was a job, one of many through her career. As fans we have the pleasure of revisiting the show time and time again but for Colette it's such a long time ago that details become hazy. Hell there are things I don't remember about my life 20 years ago. I respect her answers. A big thank you to Colette, and to everyone who were involved in this interview.

    Thanks guys for organising this interview for us all to enjoy. When the actresses say it was just a job and can’t understand why people were and are still obsessed by Prisoner? I wish they could understand it from a fans point of view. Because we as viewers really do enjoy it so much, even 40 yrs later! Also we’re very passionate about the characters and the storylines and can often relate to them through our own life experiences. So to me, it’s gotta be a good to know that they’ve touched so many people with their acting skills.

    I think because Colette is very honest and straight-talking, she doesn't always say what people expect or want her to say, she just speaks her mind truthfully and she isn't sentimental about it and people don't like it. I found this interview she did a few months ago th-cam.com/video/cFYu0B7wbP8/w-d-xo.html some of the comments are saying she is bitter towards Neighbours but I don't see it, I just don't see any sign that she was bitter, all I saw was that she was honest about how she felt. People expect her to say ''oh I loved it, oh this is great that's great'' but she doesn't, she says how she feels and doesn't sugar coat it.

    I've just watched Glenda Linscott's interview. She is very different from Colette, she doesn't want to say anything bad about anyone or anything and I like her. She comes across as a kind-hearted nice person. But for some reason, I still prefer Colette's harder more no-nonsense style. I can't explain why but I really think Glenda is a lovely sweet person but Colette would be more interesting to talk to because she would tell you straight but Glenda is so nice she would just want to just say something nice and not offend anyone.

    • @DistantCousin
      @DistantCousin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I also wonder if there was less politics in that final era of the show. For a start, Glenda seemingly got on well with all the key cast members (no one else from her time has alluded to any difficulties with her either) and counts some of them as close friends to this day.

    She mentioned the last 3 months being her favourite period which I think really showed on screen. The character was at her most likeable and entertaining in this era. Also interested in her comment about Anne Phelan being free of ego which made for a refreshing change......in contrast to whom I wonder? ;)

    That money is so tight on Neighbours that cast have unpaid breaks in their contracts and the whole production was stood down last year on zero pay makes the claim of getting a redundancy payout resulting in re-writes because she wanted to leave is quite ludicrous. The truth will come out here.

      Hmmm. Possibly. However it is widely rumoured that the longest serving cast members (which may or may not have included Colette) are being paid hefty pay packets, and this possibly explains why Neighbours was so costly to produce - and contributed to its demise. I never liked Doreen. And perhaps neither did Colette, and there in lies the problem. She did become like wallpaper after a while. Still, why do soap if you don't like the attention, and why keep talking about prisoner if you don't want others to? Colette does seem very talented all in all.

    • @ryanwilliams1800
      @ryanwilliams1800 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't think she keeps talking about it though, as far as i'm aware this is the first time she's done an interview about Prisoner in years and she talks about Neighbours and other stuff a lot in the interview anyway. Maybe she just decided to do this as a favour to the fans or because she knew Ken, who knows?. I don't get all the criticism of her when Maggie K constantly says she wants to move on from the show but still gives interviews over and over way more than Colette has and no one says anything. People worship Joan so they let it go with her but because Doreen is less popular they get mad at Colette.

    Great interview but am rather annoyed you asked my question wrongly. I never asked if she still has the Teddy Bear and never would as I know it annoys her! What I actually asked was a tongue in cheek question because I love Collettes humour, and it was "Hi Collette. I just wanted to ask has anyone ever asked you where your Teddy Bear is. I can't imagine they will have 🤣. Seriously I think you are hilarious when people ask things like that". @michelleevans4948, Almost every episode of this program that I have watched the actors from Prisoner have forgotten alot of the storylines they did. It's been 40 years since they acted in it. If you are even old enough to have been living in the early 1980's try to imagine remembering it all vividly. I was starting Junior High School in the early 80's and while I can remember it in to a degree it is quite vague. The older one gets the more distant and hazy the past becomes and the Prisoner actors went on to many other roles so it's ridiculous you saying such rude things about Colette.
