My comment isn’t about the amp or its repair cause that’s always perfectly done by D-Lab, it’s going to be about the vocals. Wow I was impressed. I wished he had kept going. That was great.
Have not forgot about the NEW D-Lab building! Great to have Tony back! Thank you Tony for getting Terry off Ham Radio and back on tub e amps! This is another example of Terry's prowess on tube amp service!!! That Bassman never had it so good! Happy New Year to both you, Wild and Crazy guys! Thanxz
Seasons greetings to D-Lab.. Nice repair, It would be great if you did more guitar amp videos. I have learned a lot about electronics from watching you repair transmitters, power supply's or whatever else ends up on your bench. I watch them all, you always attack problems with logic, and usually win the battle. Regardless of subject, your video's need more Marcia! (can she learn guitar!)
Thanks for bringing us along. I need to mod a different fender amp for the master volume addition. I can't get past 1 on the volume dial without blowing out my eardrums!
Oh my goodness I follow your primarily due to your ham radio work. But I understand you have to do what is best for you. 73 and it was nice while it lasted. De k3oe
Terry, Great amp! Well designed and thought out. Excellent idea to add that master volume. PLEASE though, keep up with the Ham radio stuff and other vacuum tube radios and such. Hi Marsha....you are much appreciated too!!! What's the latest on the other property? Wishing you many blessings with the new members of the family!
Yes Terry, Yes. Come back to amp repair and boutique building. Im sure people care about ham radio but not us. Walk back into the light my son, all is forgiven
Aww, Terry, you’re not gonna stop working on ham radio gear, are you? Some of us enjoy both - classic boatanchor repair *and* classic guitar amp repair.
Few questions... Sometimes on mod/repairs like this it'd be nice to actually give a list of components used. For instance the tone caps you replaced I can't see the brand? What 'type' of metalized resistors did you use? What value of current shunt R did you use? [probably not a very imortant question] . Anyway, you get the gist of what I'm asking. I'd love a bit more documentation:) kinda like you mentioned in this vid after performing the Fromel type mods. Thanks bud. Nice video. Definately helpful. I sure miss point to point wiring! Amps, even tube amps, have way too much crap going on these days to make them very much fun to work on!!
Great job on the amp but please don't stop making videos covering ham radio repairs. I do understand the time involved but throw us radio ops a bone on occasion please! I enjoy watching your hamfest videos too. They are rare where I live.
Nice and clean modification, thanks Terry for making cool videos... Which way is safer to amp and its user? 1- using variac for master volume 2- modding the amp in your way for master volume... Thanks...
A Variac changes the line voltage. It should only be used to test an amp if you suspect short circuits, or to adjust the line voltage in a vintage amp or foreign voltage amp. A master control volume adjusts the grid circuit of an output section of an amp [signal path or negative bias]. Both are benign. If you use a variac in any great way to adjust the output power of an amp you can quickly bring your DC power supplies far enough out of spec to negatively affect the actual healthy performance of your vacuum tubes. So using Line Voltage to act as a "master volume", probably not a good idea.
Hi great video. I have high plats voltage (514v) on power Tube on My 6g6a bassman. Can you give a possible clue why it is not 470V like schematic? Another thing is that speaker have 7,5 ohm. Can the speaker be broke? Br Anders from sweden.
Yeah. But. How does it sound with a power-mic with all that compression and godlyke reverb? _"You got yor ears on good buddy uddy uddy?"_ _"You like BASS?"_ *Won't be seeing this on Oprah!*
It's always a good time hanging with Terry and Tony!
Tony can Sing he needs a Cool Hat Terry...Great Job Paisan
Friends, vintage instruments and a beverage or two. Too cool🍻
Now THAT .... is a great sounding amplifier!
Tony's back! Sorry Terry but he's way more fun than a sinewave and a dummy-load.
Cheers fellas!
I love the way those Bassman amps sound.
I'm glad you will be putting the emphasis on amplifiers again. This video already was a blast to watch. Vintage amp repairs are always a treat.
Now THAT is the way to test an AMP ! Good "Ridin' with the King !
Thanks you guys I learned something ! N2XWH !!! 73 !!!

Great video. That you for all the hard work.
Another amp ready to rock out courtesy of Terry. Cool.
Another great video Terry!!
Oh my goodness I follow your primarily due to your ham radio work. But I understand you have to do what is best for you. 73 and it was nice while it lasted. De k3oe
I'm sure he was joking. He's more of a ham guy than a guitar guy himself.
Another great video! Thank you Terry
Sounds great...
Thanx for the cool vid, Terry
Terry,

I think it was a joke. He loves radio stuff and it seems to me it's his main hobby, as he doesn't even play guitar.
When in doubt, compare with a known good capacitor. Thanks for sharing!
AY YO TONY! How ya doin?! Right on!
Can you explain or give me a video that explains the current shunt on pin 8? Also, what's the latest on the house next door you were looking to buy?
@@goodun2974 Thanks for the explanation.

That MV install looks different than your other video. For one I don't see the 33uf 100v cap.
Yeah Amps!!! Yeah Tony!!!
I would also like to install a master volume for jtm45 I am a little worried that the sound will change. What do you think? Thanks
It would have been nice to display the signal on the scope while Tony was playing. Nice repair!
Terry could you please give the value and wattage of the two shunt resistors
They are 1 ohm, 2 watt
Great job on the amp but please don't stop making videos covering ham radio repairs. I do understand the time involved but throw us radio ops a bone on occasion please! I enjoy watching your hamfest videos too. They are rare where I live.
What is that speaker cab you're using ?

Where are you located.
I have this head and matching twin 15 cab.
Come and fix my old amp too. 77peavey sounding like kneeling at high volume:( love your vids:)
Tony' Better to be pissed off, then pissed on...
This is off the subject, but is that white faced radio a Clegg?
TD be the Fendermeister
That is a modified silverface amp made to look like a tuxedo.
Tony nailed it.
Yeah. But. How does it sound with a power-mic with all that compression and godlyke reverb?
