@@ironknight84music on Amiga is AMAZING and graphic is better even if commodore version come years after. Only worst thing in Amiga version are swords
You just reminded me of the subtle things loved in this game... music score, gratifying low distant "boom" sound while successfully hitting castle wall with catapult. Awe man it tingles☺
Fantastic, I enjoyed this sooo much as a kid, thank you very much to the producers, designers, and other folks involved for devolping and producing this game. Even the cover box art is sublime.
The C64 version was so well executed. Great graphics (the screen at 31:10 is one of the best still screens I've seen on the 64). It seemed to contain some small details not included in other versions, i.e. if you seek Robin's help before a raid the sidekick on the first screen is green: nice :)
I Played this game on my Commodore 64 upto 1991. I was addicted to this game. I liked it and a ninja 🥷 game. Good games. I still have that obsolete Antique Comodore 64 in my Attic. I wish to play these games on my Laptop….. if there is any option….. nostalgic. Further I wish to sell C64 as an Antique along with its floppy discs etc…. Anyone interested. 😊
weird how this longplay turned out, usually in a dozen of turns someone gains dominance and the game is over in 2 dozen turns or smth like that. the strategy to win is to claim someone's home castle as early you can, then a 2nd one, after that win is quaranteed
The Amiga version came first. Of course it had superior graphics. However, gameplay was not very good on the Amiga. A Commodore 64 conversion followed. And while its graphics couldn't stand up to the Amiga's, the game was thoroughly enjoyable on the trusty C=64. For instance, with a decent joystick you could actually win tournaments. In the Amiga version, it didn't seem to matter what you did during the joust. For C=64 standards, the graphics were great. Not the best, because for that you need to visit "The Last Ninja." And if you would travel back in time and compare the game's graphics with other computer standards, you'd find that the C=64 version did pretty well.
There was this bug that when you had a single opponent left, you could stab his horse in a joust and you would loose all your territories. However, the bot would then just focus on conquering these empty territories and you could move to his home castle and win.
I loved how you knew you were doing crappy the more crappy and messed up your king looked lol! I used to love this. Nice to see it again after all these years
Not sure what you were doing, there were several points where you could have attacked the home castle of the brown or the green Normans... but you didn't.
No tournaments, no raids, no Robin Hood's Help ??? Only a marriage? And the blonde and the brown haired lady ???!? Many better things you can do. Also playing with different saxons. Some are quite difficult, many skills are weak... Poor games, but we had nothing else 33 years ago: the rest was supplied by the teen's fantasy !! ;-)
@@Rheinmetall1 :-( unfortunately my Commodore 64 didn't work anymore, nor my 5 1/4 floppy disk r/w... Last time I played, it was 1989 I guess. Click on the sherwood forest to ask robin's help, before siege or attack... :-(((
I stopped to look for a minute and stayed for the entire show. But dude, no tournaments, no raiding??? You didn't even visit Robin of Sherwood once! Good game. But spice it up a little next time.
Always loved The c64 sid version. Just something about The sid Music. Sure Amiga have better graphich. But The c64.. love it. Oh Yaa. One more thing. Do The Girl drop her dress in The Amiga version? Cant recall it. She sure do in The c64 version 😂
Yeah, I totally agree. I played again the Amiga version just yesterday, and the C64 is so much more playable in all ways. And no, the Lady doesn't drop her dress on Amiga. 😀
Partita mooolto migliorabile!! XD !!!
I'm just sat here laughing at the opening text... "When the king returned from the holy land, he knighted 6 great warriors who had carried him to victory over the INFIDELS" 😂😂😂😂 I can imagine the political implications this would have if this was written into a game today 😂😂😂
I was checking out to "superior" amiga version and the girl does not drop her gown, C64 wins!
For sure. This is the version I was looking for. I remember my oldest brother playing this game back in the mid-80’s
Even the music of the c64 is better than the Amiga

That’s right! Would have looked good with the Amiga.
Raise your hand if you still have a commodore 64 with this game! Oh, and a sweet printer that is slow af. lol

That music! Wow, we loved this game, the Ultima series, Wizardry series, and Bard's Tale series, back in the day!!

Gosh its great to see this game after so many years. A classic.
Fantastic for its day
Brings back awesome memories. Thank you for taking time out to upload this.
konkyolife my memories too. :)
i always hoped the next Robin Hood movie would use the DOTC music score... How glorious it would be.
What a well executed port of a great game.
The C64 version was so well executed. Great graphics (the screen at 31:10 is one of the best still screens I've seen on the 64). It seemed to contain some small details not included in other versions, i.e. if you seek Robin's help before a raid the sidekick on the first screen is green: nice :)
The good still screens in this game start from 7:30 :)
I think the graphics compare very favourably with the Atari ST version (though the raid screens are noticeably better on the ST).

some of the best 8bit music in this game

I remember when I used to think this game had great graphics. GG
it has great graphics. You shouldn't have used Greek fire and disease when you were raiding a Saxon castle and no tournament?

Loved this game!
Thanks to C64 games, I was pretty bad ass in english when it started in third class. :)
Funny watching this now, it was like an early version of Total war with naked ladies.
really great, thanks so much for uploading this ✨

He seized his Allies castle after they helped him. That was not necessary to restore peace. Great game!
He was one step away from attacking the main castle. Not worth the risk..

The Black Knight always triumphs!

I like prolonging the game sessions of one of my favourite games, by gathering ridiculous army forces and crushing the enemy at the end.
