Being about the same age as them, they've always been emotionally stunted by about five years. Not sure if it was the deep animation poverty or what, but they've always had cringey takes on things here and there. As much as they like to joke on reddit and twitter, they got like 90% of their politics from it during the 2010s and it was hilariously bad at times. And we're not even taking about politics in a partisan way, but just like having an 00s internet forum user understanding of what feminism is, or just blatantly saying false things as facts because they were momentarily into some figurehead. I think the only reason I can go back to sleepycabin and don't have any issues with oneyplays is because it was always incredibly casual, besides their posts when they were turbocharged Twitter users. Yeah, they might have unironically sucked Elon Musk off once, but like, it's not part of the brand on-video. Like Zach never went to go debate Destiny about Black on White crime like Jontron did lol. Cuz at the end of the day, we all just want to listen to funny man make jokes while playing games poorly. The sad thing is there are grown adults in the "fan community" who are so parasocial they take any minute speck or joke to assume Chris is a White Christian Ethnonationalist 4channer like them just because they made fun of Joe Biden or something. You get them every once in a while in the subreddit and it's hilarious how quickly everyone tells them to grow up and that Chris won't fuck them.
