This song takes place on Earth, in the year 2154. It is a prequel to the events of Conqueror. Story Overview There are citizens of Earth who know the war between the IGC and UNI is reaching a breaking point. They've built the first Titan, Anicetus, and they plan to use it to escape the Earth and find a new planet to inhabit. This will eventually lead them to Acheron. It is unknown if Acheron is actually close to their intended destination of Alpha Centauri. Before entering cryo sleep with the rest of the crew, Andara leaves a message for anyone on Earth who may be listening. The Soldier of Earth receives this message (and will later send his memories to Anicetus). As these survivors enter cryo sleep and begin their journey, the IGC begins their scorched earth policy which will end most of the life on Earth.
@@Yojimbo711 you can find the lore on the Mechina Wiki. Many people there try to explain the albums and the whole story, and they did a pretty good job.
I might add that given the nature of the overarching story line, surely Civilisation: Beyond Earth is another good game to partner with. Will be playing that myself later tonight.
I've actually been using Mechinas music as inspiration when I write, I have a book coming up inspired by their music but never actually associated with them fully
+Matt Nevens oh the joys of owning a studio with about $80,000 worth of professional equipment and having unlimited free access to all of it, like Joe and David.
This is just proof that, in my eyes, Mechina has one of the most prolific, and staggeringly high quality, track records in the metal community. I don't know any band that creates so much high quality music so quickly.
Another epic masterpiece from Mechina; utter perfection. I especially applaud the return of David Holch's clean vocals. 9:12 was incredibly haunting...
today is the first time when I dared to listen to this almost 19-minute track. the part of it that begins on 8:20 made me burst into tears with its endless beauty and epicness
This could theoretically be a pretty cool music video, although it'd probably have to be edited to fit people's attention span better and not get repetitive with the imagery. I keep imagining a play through of human history, showing our greedy, our violence, our will to dominate, our monuments, our achievements, going up through the ages, interspersed with imagery of the great things we do and the potential we have, as well as some beautiful space imagery or something during the clean vocal parts, between which the nuclear war is shown. Then the final chorus is basically a rapid edit of good, the bad and the great of our history as well as imagery of the apocalyptic destruction and aftermath, stuff like that. That amount of grand and diverse footage would probably never go into a music video, even if it was for the biggest band/artist ever, but I suppose it could be at least a bit more realistic if it was done with stock footage or something.
each of Mechina's albums and musics told an epic sci-fi story, you can look it up on the wiki. Everything you said here actually in the story itself. Nuclear war, space, and domination
Perfect. Not just this song! I can't believe someone have achieved such harmony and melody combining incompatible...orchestral, ethno, electronica, symphonic, death metal... I can visualize almost every song. I am literally stunned by Mechina's music..
"Click here to bypass intro"? Fuck. NO! It's a part of the experience :D I love it! Once more i'm amazed at how awesome your music is! An epic mammoth of a song, as always! :D Good shit!
Don't stop making music man. I've been listening to you since Assembly of the Tyrants was released and you still manage to rope me in with every song and album you put out. There's only one word to describe you guys: COSMIC. Keep it up!
This is by far the best Mechina track, love the long progression and story elements. please do more of these longer tracks, much more of a journey! Please bring back to spotify!!! *Playing this in background with the release of starfield, works so well xD
I feel like I have just crawled out from some ditch and got slapped with reality......lol.I apologise for not finding you guys earlier. Love melodic metal....but this screams complexity and ingenuity. Thanks gents.....

Without disprespecting all the other fantastic songs, this is your best, the pinnacle of what the band is able to do. Sound, lyrics, the storytelling, your guitarwork, Davids growls and clean singing. 19 Minutes of pure space opera, if Mass Effect needs a soundtrack in the future, you should make it.
3:36 it's definetely Turkish. starting with "yaralarım sızlıyor" which means "my wounds ache..." and so on. but i could not catch the rest. Will be appreciated if you can tell me. Edit from 2023: Either it is "Yaralarım Sızlıyor" or "Günahlarım Sızlıyor" which means either "My wounds ache..." or "My sins ache..." Either way, it must be a referrence from Mahzuni Şerif's Değme Tabib Sızlıyor song which means "Don't treat doctor, it aches"
I ve found such comment under Brymir - Slayer of Gods: "THIS is how to make a song that lasts for almost 9 minutes. THIS is how you do it right." Errmmm... *HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, AHAHAHHAHAHA*
holy hell, im blown away, this is just wonderful. following you guys for over 3 years now, and my expectations are always surpassed by miles, its crazy. you guys deserve to be big in the metal scene (cause i wanna see a europe tour lol) anyways outstanding work, keep it up!
I need this in my life !!! Forever!!!! Your doing an awesome job guys !!!111oneone ... please ... do this because you want to ... not because you have to ... this dry arid world of metal would be lonely without your input ... much love xxxx
+Tobias Hagström I just realized this is actually uploaded by the band, so I want to be even clearer with how much I like it, it's really powerful and epic. I also like the lyrics a lot, they're sung in a different cadence than I'm used to so it's somewhat difficult to follow them, but I'll probably end up learning them at some point, because I find them very compelling.
For the longest time I didn't notice that this song was nearly 20 minutes long, because it does not feel long at all. Testament to what a fantastic composition this is.
I just wanna say that after listening to a few songs of Mechina... I decided to look them up and found the wiki page for the band. and it's REALLY well put together! as if a story is being told. why can't all bands have that type of wiki? lol
I don't know why they decided to ruin the song on the "remastered" version. They just made the orchestral backing track sound less real and made the guitar and drums less punchy.
Can anyone recommend more music of this quality and scale/scope? I've been neck deep in Mechina and Blind Guardian. Is there anyone else who handles the symphonic/orchestral components as well as Mechina/BG do? I NEED MORE
Luca Turilli (particularly his work in "Prophet of the Last Eclipse). Basically, if you like the most epic things of Mechina and Blind Guardian, this man is made of these things.
That "1" dislike on this video proves that, no matter how phenomenally fucking magnificently amazing you are, there's just no pleasing everybody.
+M. Hunter-Bathory If this cant satisfy him, nothing can do it my friend
Maybe they were head banging so hard they dropped and smashed their phone and accidentally pressed the dislike
@@NASCAR_Junk that is literally the only thing that could've happened.
This is the greatest song of All Time
Lol okay, critikal
Alongside Empire Of The Clouds, Winter's Gate and Greatest Show On Earth.
That's about it, see ya.
Yeah, I would say that this is the absolute pinnacle of this particular sub-genre of metal.
In all this time, He hasn't released anything close to this. Trully a masterpiece

What about a movie series. Think Pink Floyd - The Wall style! :)
If I had the money I would gladly have provided the funds for such a project myself!
I've actually been using Mechinas music as inspiration when I write, I have a book coming up inspired by their music but never actually associated with them fully
It seems, that Tiberi finally started doing something in that way.
Marcos Garcia did you ever write that book? Sounds like something I’d read
Loving the clean vocals, also love the fact that your music sounds ten times better than most metal bands with a much bigger budget.
+Matt Nevens the clean vocals pretty much make the track a solid 11/10
Dave CSGO Agreed. Everything is awesome, just those epic cleans make me go "whoooooooa". Missed them on the last album. :)

Best early birthday present ever. Fucking amazing as always, another great track

Absolutely stunning piece of work!
I'm late to the dance with this band but I've been blown away since discovering them.
I just joined this dance and am equally blown away.

The whole story behind Mechinas' music should be done into videogame or movie series... It's fuckin' amazing!
