Those keyboards instantly bring me back to Aetherion Rain/Synesthesia Signal. In my opinion that's some of the best stuff you guys have written. You got outside of your comfort zone thematically and did some exploration, ventured into the unknown. I've been waiting here patiently for when you'll get back to something like that. Surviving the harshness of space was a cool idea for a metal album. Building a better future on an equally harsh planet was the next step. You had the makings for it back in Embers, and I've been waiting for it since then. That was the last time I really felt excitment with you guys through how you created your music. Godspeed Vanguards had the line "...Contact Ground" after a long pause of anticipation, which is the best summation of the human spirit to survive and explore. Don't be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone and explore that again. You'll find the magic still yet, and it wont have to feel like capturing it was somehow a fluke next time.
Interestingly perhaps one Mechina's cleanest melodies!! Very cool variation from my favorite band! Well done guys! The combined power of the vocalists gave me goosebumps. Happy to have the epic growls back!
This is like the upgraded version of Ode to the Forgotten Few which is my favorite song, and now this one is my new favorite and Ode become the second.

Yeah it’s hilarious to see that lotta fans who liked this song, didn’t even fcking realize it’s ANOTHER Dave growls here 😂 really says everything about your ability to understand music and even the band you praise 😂
@angryktulhu LOL. I definitely listened to the full song and heard the same Dave growls you did. I'm hear for it as well all the other sounds they produce. At EOD, these folks continue to put out music and express themselves. They can always stop making music, and many will still complain about what sounds a song or album contains instead of appreciating what they do for art sake and moving the f**k on. Cheers fam!
Given that Mechina now uses a lot of neural-network made imagery instead of art, I am wondering, is there any kind assurance that Mechina's music is still 100% free from neural-network generated content? I think I heard Joe perhaps jokingly say something about using such technology to make music once. I really would like to be assured that is not the case.
@@angryktulhu I'll never miss a chance to point out that I don't like this type of dis, because to me the question of quality of neural network content is the least important aspect of this topic. I care much more about the way that neural network content it is emotionally manipulative to people who actually care about art as something that is human, inspirational, relatable, etc. I'm afraid I will need to adapt to this new reality by learning to not assume a human has made the culture around me, effectively meaning I'll have to learn to not love the world as much as I do, all because people are lazy, greedy, and at best indifferent to passing such content off as something it's not. If anyone wants me to become religious, they should not try to tempt me with the idea of eternal life, they should pitch me on the ability to unironically call this type of technology Satanic.
Did Dave actually leave the band? that's not him who's growling. The vocals sound like Mel took over the entire vocal writing process. The lyrics sound like someone outside with no touch to the actual world and story of Mechina tries to copy their old lyrical style. the melodies don't make any sense, they don't form any kind of melodical structures, just the ryhtmically flat note yelling that started in Siege. overall the music lacks the passion Mechina used to have. it sounds like Joe is writing only the instrumentals to Mel now, which ressults him trying to push the inspiration out that used to flow naturally in beautiful harmony.
yeah it's like the music is being generated, same repetitive patterns over and over again. Been saying it since Siege. There's literally a guy who generated like 10 hours of djent programmatically (no AI even, just procedures) - reminds me a lot about this.
Algo
This shit is lit AF
❤
