1. Approximatively 8 weeks 2. Yes, as long as you treat the propagation material (bud) with fongicide and insecticide at the beginning. Then continue the treatment after transplantation with chemical or natural phytosanitary products. Cheers mate !

If there is enogh spacing betwee the primary shoots, and if these primary shoots have attained a minimum size, reactivate the corm by decapitating the primary shoot or shoots and destroying the epical meristems as shown. Cover the decapitated shoots with saw dust and wait. The decapitation of the primary shoots will incduce the development of numerous secondary shoots around each decapitated corm. A total of more than 100 plantlets is being achieved in prenurseries in Cameroon, the country of origin of this technique and the #1 producer of plantain in the world. Have fun experimenting!
