In asia, we eat bean sprouts from mung beans and they sell for SGD$6.60/kg. So if that self container can produce 386kg daily, it should bring in about $2,550/per harvest. Especially in land scarce place like Singapore, this will be a good strategy.

We also have this microgreens for sale in Russia. but
      1) No one buys it
      2) Keep in mind that as long as the product reaches the buyer from the manufacturer, its price will increase by 100 times...

Hydroponic cultivation is an innovative and sustainable method of growing plants without soil, using nutrient-rich water solutions. It offers several advantages, such as efficient water use, faster plant growth, and the ability to grow crops in urban or space-limited environments. However, it requires careful monitoring of nutrient levels, pH, and system maintenance to ensure optimal results. Despite the initial setup cost being relatively high, hydroponics is a promising solution for modern agriculture, especially in areas facing soil degradation or water scarcity.

I always thought that if these fodder companies wanted to actually sell more of these systems. They'd actually simply do ASMR fodder feeding videos mixed with a bit of hay or straw or something. few hundred of these munchie videos people would actually realize this exist. There's a lot more herbivore pets these days like guinea pigs and bunnies.

In indoor hydroponic fodder farming, **the total protein or nutrition content per seed does not increase significantly**. However, the **volume and digestibility** of the fodder improve considerably. Here's why:
    1. **Volume Increase**: The sprouting process converts the stored energy in the seed into a larger biomass, mainly through the absorption of water and the growth of shoots and roots. This increases the weight and volume of the fodder.
    2. **Protein and Nutrient Changes**:
    - **Protein Content**: The total protein content in the seed remains largely unchanged, but the protein's bioavailability (how easily animals can digest and utilize it) improves due to enzymatic changes during sprouting.
    - **Nutritional Changes**: While the total nutrient content is stable, some vitamins (like A, C, and B-complex) and enzymes increase during sprouting, enhancing the fodder's overall quality.
    3. **Dilution Effect**: Since water makes up most of the weight gain, the protein and energy concentration per unit weight might appear lower compared to the original seed.
    ### Summary:
Hydroponic fodder farming primarily increases the **volume, digestibility, and certain vitamins**, but the **total protein or core nutrition content per seed does not significantly increase**. Instead, it becomes more accessible and palatable for animals, leading to better feed efficiency.

Eu sou engenheiro agronomo pos graduado em producao animal em biotecnologia. Biologia molecular.

@@farmboxfoods i have a similar flood tray system but never thought to use it in the way the video showed.
My flood tray system can currently grow 96 trays (10’x20’)of wheat grass per rack/block every harvest .
I have 12 vertically stacked flood trays in my garage
And wish to bring this business to the next step
I enjoy growing varieties but the original plan was to only grow wheat grass .
( This video reminded me of that )
At this level of quantity you’re able to grow ,What kind of prices should i expect per pound for wheat grass or barley .

How much fodder grass in kg per cattle per day?

    • @farmboxfoods
      @farmboxfoods  ปีที่แล้ว

That all depends on where the cattle is in its life cycle and what the farmer/rancher's goals are. We provide a nutritional analysis to customers who purchase a fodder farm so they can make an informed decision.

If you did it yourself & you already had the building & didn’t opt for buying into their control station interface & tracking software, then it would be substantially less.
$7-10K (US) without building and software.
$30-40K with. It’s a wide variable of costs depending on your knowledge level in creating thermostatic controls.
