I am getting a mileage between 10-14 km and that too when I stay in mountains in Shimla. Petrol automatic has to be driven soft footed to get full mileage. However if you race always then I have also driven Mumbai -Pune on Lonavala ghats many times with full throttle down -and I can tell you no other vehicle including BMWs and Mercs could touch me. This time mileage was 4-5 kmpl.
The Compass is giving me about 8kmpl in the city and about 13-14 on the highway here in Bangalore.

Regarding the average, It is always good to ask follow up questions. Like when he said 10-10.5km/l on highways , it seems to me that he is like 140+ types with full throttle.
Automatic transmission needs a bit of change in driving style in order to achieve good mileage figures. If you do pedal to metal, it will only result in bad mileage figures.

Jeep is a costly brand.. And mileage depends on ur drive. A cool drive in highway minim give 12 lt.. City my be 8 or 9..

First of all if ur buying a SUV always go for a diesel variant because the cars weight has alot to do with the mileage.....next thing is Jeep petrol gives 17kmpl cause I had one but i exchaged it for a compass trailhawk and i used to drive the way it should be driven....I can gurantee he must me reving the car alot and driving it like a maniac no doubts....if u know u have a petrol car u should always drive it like a normal person not like a complete maniac....common bruh its giving u 10 on highway cause ur driving nature.....My petrol civic should give 17kmpl as well but i drive it like a maniac so it gives 13.1kmpl....a cars nature is well connected to ur nature of driving it 🤷🏻♂️
Compass is best mated with diesel engine.
