Not hard finding a job at all but I worked as a PCT in ICU before I was a nurse. No regrets

Cordero, my son is in his second year of community college. His ultimate goal is to become a CRNA. I am glad to find someone who is not only Male but also AA. My son is exactly that. I am a single Mother and him and I are trying to figure out his best path so that he doesn't lose time. I am watching all of your videos.

Been an icu nurse for 8 years. Right before I entered nursing school I began to experience depression (had a difficult time in life). This depression got the better of me because prior to that I was an A student and my grades suffered afterwards. Never failed a course just barely made through. I let depression take my entire 20s. Now I’m 32 and have a daughter who turned 5. She has been my motivator and the reason why I am beginning to pursue crna. I don’t how challenging it’ll be because my nursing courses gpa is at 2.7 while the prerequisite courses are sitting at 3.9. This feeling has always prevented me from applying to any school because I felt well just dumb. While I let depression rob me of my 20s and I won’t let it rob my 30s because my daughter is looking up to me. I don’t know it’s going to happen but I’ll let this be stamp for me to come back to as a reminder of where I was at the this time in life. Thanks!

You can and WILL do this. You are not stupid. You will have several chances to explain your situation which is unique to you. You was suffering from an illness, and I’m sure many will see it as such(just like any other kind of illness that causes students to struggle). What stands out the most to me is that you still pushed through and graduated while dealing with that(perseverance). Mental Health is no longer this taboo subject. They will understand…make them understand. Thoroughly and honestly explain your situation in your personal statement and at interviews. Really show them you will do anything it takes to become a CRNA. Believe in yourself. You will be a CRNA!

I’ve been following your channel because you went to WGU and I’m currently in the process of applying and I’m just hoping to get in at this point; my end goal is CRNA. I’ve been working with sedated patients my entire adult life in oral surgery and think it’s the logical thing to do and I also have a lot of interest in it and love assisting in sedation cases. I do have two questions. How many schools did you apply to and what school did you end up getting accepted to? If that question is to invasive of your privacy I 💯 understand! Once again thanks for the great content. It’s inspiring.

I currently do security at a children's hospital in Utah. I am actually thinking about going into nursing. My Mother, two of my aunts, and a few close friends are nurses and they say I would make a wonderful nurse. When I was younger I wanted to stay as far away from hospitals as I possibly could. I don't faint or get queasy at the site of blood, but there are still a few things I that don't sit very well with me in the healthcare field. We recently had a child shipped out on a chopper to a trauma level 1 hospital and while watching them taking care of the child, I thought to myself this is something I want to do. What would you suggest about getting over some of the things in healthcare that dont sit well with people? Like the suction stuff they deal with?

Thank you so much for the information! I just graduated with my BSN and am starting a new position in the ICU (CABG, IABP, CRRT type pts). I already have a bachelors from a traditional 4 year in Psychology but the gpa from that is a 3.2. Aside from getting my CCRN and doing councils/committees do you recommend I take additional courses? When I got my previous bachelors I was pre-med so I took organic chem and biochem but made barely passing grades. They were taken over 10 years ago at this point.

Thanks so much for the video so inspiring. I’m on my CRNA journey now and I wanted to ask if you had any advice on retaking undergrad sciences courses to get a better grade. Specifically will they respect or recognize online courses vs taking them at a community college? I work full time and trying to go to campus 4 days a week would be rough. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks so much.
